All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time...
666921 tn?1254990618 My LLMD mentioned that the nasal steroid spray was OK to take for 1-2 months if necessary for allergies, as in my case. Another data point.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had a problem like this? Any suggestions on how to deal with my allergies? I have many allergies but things have been fairly bearable until pollen season. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine (reduces inflammation, helps with drippy nose and eyes from allergies, etc) Coricidin is an over the counter OTC drug. The DSM-IV is system for measuring the risk of substance abuse or for assessing mental disorders. You may be thinking of classification of narcotics? or pregnancy drug classification? OTC drugs are not classified.
Avatar n tn It would help to use some OTC antihistamine or antiallergic medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You could use calamine lotion for local application at the sites of the lesions. Have you had any such reactions in the past? Is there a positive history of allergy in the family? If the symptoms still persist, you should consult your doctor about it and also ask him/her whether you need to see an allergy specialist. Let us know how you are doing and if you have any doubts. Hope this helps.

Avatar m tn yes, allergies can definitely trigger headaches - I suffer from Migraines and if my sinuses or allergies start acting up it will trigger them
1613602 tn?1306199123 these include testing the skin for responses to known allergens or analyzing the blood for the presence and levels of allergen-specific IgE. Traditional treatment and management of allergies consisted simply of avoiding the allergen in question or otherwise reducing exposure.
Avatar f tn ) is also supposed to be fine but I find it is not as effective for me. I wonder which ingredient in DayQuil helps for allergies - perhaps the decongestant? Since it is a cold symptom reliever, not an antihistamine, if it is the decongestant helping, you might want to call your doctor's office and ask about decongestants/expectorants that are safe. Also, the best suggestion I received during my last pregnancy when it came to congestion was to get a humidifier.
Avatar n tn Having several allergies, including many outdoors one (trees, grass, mold, and oas resulting) as well as some food allergies, and also pet allergies, i finally went to see an allergist earlier this year. He prescribed veramist for my seasonal allergies and suggested that i take a combination of NASALCROM(nasal), PATADAY(eyes), and intol (chest), ten minutes before entering a home with cats. Initially i saw great results with no allergies for about 3 or 4 hours.
428185 tn?1203741789 My allergies worsen considerably when I lie down - if I'm vertical, they don't bother me so much, especially if I'm physically active. But trying to sleep is a miserable experience. The difference is striking. Why would this be happening? Is this something that surgery can fix?
Avatar f tn What could this be a sign of? Is it normal for my eyes to get puffy from allergies? Please give me some ideas for narrowing down the cause.
Avatar m tn hello , can anyone please advise
Avatar m tn Kindly advise me what is my skin condition.
Avatar m tn It does sound like allergies to me. Try an antihistamine such as Zyrtec, Claritin, Allegra, or Chlor-Trimeton. You can try Benedryl but it tends to cause drowsiness more than the others I mentioned.
12498457 tn?1425603087 My Dr started me on a nightly antihistamine....taken a few hrs b4 I go to bed which also help me sleep...and for when I have more issues like a weather front or major change I take a non drowsy formula during the day in addition to my nightly dose..... Avatar f tn I tried an antihistamine and didn't matter. I thought of strep but since she had no other indicators and is continuing extracurricular activities without complaint I figured wasn't strep. Not really sure.
Avatar f tn s also a laxative, so it can cause diarrhea. Because for allergies you have to use an herb regularly, be cautious with this one. There are others as well, and there are also many clearing herbs that aren't antihistamines but can clear the sinuses. The best thing is to get a good herbal and read up on this, because nature has provided so many allergy remedies.
Avatar n tn I am usually able to control his allergies with a special diet and pest control. He has seen his vet for hot spots due to flea bites on a few occassions and received short term medications. This past week my boy started itching in vaious spots on his body. During a bath, I found two fleas on him and removed the fleas and treated him with his between the shoulders medication. I also applied cream on his red spots (they were not bad spots but still irritated) from his itching.
Avatar f tn Hi and thanks for your reply. It seems like more people are telling me that they are getting hypothyroid in middleage or near menopause. Are you on thyroid meds now? As for the antihistamine, I'm not on it for allergies it is to lessen the number of migraines. I am taking a generic med called cyproheptadine that my neurologist gave me. It lowers serotonin. I have been skin tested for a lot of allergies and they all came up negative except the mold came up later.
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
