Avatar n tn I'm afraid that I might be having some infectious diseases. Yellowish Green stuff comes out of my vagina and they look like boogers. I don't know what to do. I've been reading about what people have said about this but they said if it smells I should go to a doctor but my vagina does not smell but it does it and kind of hurt. What does this mean? Is it infectious or contagious?

You need a consult with an infectious control specialist at a teaching hospital..Do this immediately. Fifteen days of "antibiotic" will not cure an MRSA infection. Avatar f tn Some LLMDs will give a short course of antibiotics before the test, to stir up the immune system and show a reaction on the test that might otherwise be erroneously negative. It's called an 'antibiotic challenge.' What happens is that the immune system stops reacting to the Lyme bacteria after a period of time, and only with stimulus from a short antibiotic treatment will the immune system make antibodies against Lyme, which then show up on the test.

And then from there repeated about every 3-5 months another resp. virus. Doctors initially thought I was never getting over this repeated cold. But I think its something more.
Avatar n tn I would also get more tests done. The screening test has been shown to be wrong about half the time. There's a specialty lab that does more advanced testing and they find more cases than other labs. It's called IGeneX. I had the full Lyme panel done there and the only test that showed positive was my IgM Western Blot. Two previous tests I had done at a military hospital lab were both negative.
Avatar f tn only means the disease is due to bacterial or viral infection and thus can be transmitted to others. Two infectious diseases immediately come to mind that cannot be cured by antibiotics: AIDS (viral) and chronic Lyme disease (bacterial). Antibiotics don't kill viruses - so AIDS patients would only use antibiotics to fight any secondary bacterial infections they might develop, which could help them feel better, but not cure them.
