The results came back normal bacterial flora of mouth. Should I do a specific throat swab test for chlamydia gonorrhea herpes and syphillis? Are there any names for such tests? I am waiting for the appointment with a ENT specialist. During that time I wanted to know if I come do any more tests to completely get rid of my fears.

In the meantime, I'm fairly certain I have chalmydia. That is redness and swelling around the urethral meatus (I'm a man) itchy and burning urethra and painful urination (all of which are mild except for the redness.) Happened on a Saturday and freaked out on Tuesday and took 2G of azithromycin in the morning. In the afternoon went to see a doctor and did urine tests for Chlamydia and Gono. I know this is ok timing to test for gono, but chlamydia is probably on the borderline right?
Questions:
1. If the results come back negative and specially after taking 2g of azi, is there any thing to concern about?
2. Is there a need to retest?
I kind of freaked out and did chlamydia and gonorroe tests at 7 days and after taking the test I took azithromycine (1gram). The tests came back negative and at 4 weeks I tested negative for chlamydia gonorroe syphilis and hiv.
I re-took the syphilis and hiv tests at 40 days. Both negative.
My question is though: can the azithromycine (1gram) affect the tests for Syphilis? If so, will it extend the window period?
Luckily , i have found a lab where they have PCR testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia . I read somewhere and it said PCR testing should only be done until 2-3 weeks after the encounter . Is it true? Can i still get accurate results via PCR testing for these 2 stds through urine samples? If not , what other tests are available which will be accurate. Also , i searched the web a lot but could not find any lab tests for NGU.Please let me know the specific lab name of the test for NGU.
But you panicked over a low risk situation. Antibiotics do not mask the test. Either they cure the infection or not. And the gonorrhea test and chlamydia test were done 3 weeks post exposure. So you should be fine. Taka care!
So i took 2 urin tests, one went to a labor and the other one was a quick test for chlamydia - both went back negative. I also got antibiotics - Ciprofloxacin for a week which had no effect at all.
So i was directed to an urologist, which made some tests with me. He checked my kidney, my urethra - all seemed fine. But he found "something big" when he did the swab, he was sure it was protozoa. He says nothing is that big under the microscope, so its for sure protozoa.

Hi, i was diagnosed with chlamydia today in my local STD clinic, the doctor gave me 4 250mg Zithromax tablets to take which i did as instructed. A little later without thinking about it i drank one pint of beer. Genuine mistake. i was just wondering will the dose of Zithromax i took work now?
Would you still be happy that the negative blood test for syphilis is ok considering I had stopped the antibiotics 2 weeks prior to the blood test? (would the antibiotics be out of the system by then and not interefer with the test).
Woke up the next morning and had stomach pains and a moderate burning sensation when I urinated. The NP (Nurse Proctor) saw me the next morning and did a urine test for Chlamydia... and gave me 3 days of Cipro. Cipro did the trick but I ended up feeling not quite over it and called my doctor.. Who made me go for another urine test (which came back normal) but did put me on 7 Days of Augementin @ 875MG.

I have had chlamydia before, but zithromax did not cure it. I needed a different antibiotic called doxycycline. This does happen so don't be surprised if it is not gone.
As for other STD's, you need to get tested to get a prescription for the proper antibiotics.
Actually however, I made a mistatement and meant to say NGU, not chlamydia. Chlamydia is extraordinarily rare following receipt of oral sex.

If your symptoms are getting worse, then this is not one of the STIs I mentioned. You need to look for other causes. these would be unusual symptoms for prostatitis as well.
