can jock itch move to your penis? i have had it for months now and can only keep it under control w powder, not get rid of it. when i have sex w/my girlfriend, afterwards my penis gets red, raw and gets little cracking in the skin right under the head of my penis, some small amount of itching. has the jock itch moved to my penis or is this something else? i might add there are no sores or anything like that. it seems to heal and only get raw after sex.
herpes won't just cause itching. you were on antibiotics, it is probably just jock itch and you can treat that with otc products. if you think it's more than jock itch, be seen again for a work up.
My husband has this rash by the bottom of his scrotum close to the perineum raphe I read up on jock itch and a few other things got some cream and it's not going away there are no blisters or sores but he tends to scratch it open its looks like a red patch almost like a ringworm but not entirely does anyone know what this could be or what he can use for this

So the itch came after the antibiotics? It could be a mild yeast infection or jock itch, which is really common after antibiotic use.

I have been on antibiotics recently and research pointed to a higher risk of fungal infection, specifically jock itch. But I haven't been experiencing any itching at all, and am unsure if that rules out jock itch. I've tried hydro-cortisone cream, but the white bumps on the rash kept spreading. Please help.
at this point after antibiotics, you might even have a yeast infection issue causing you irritation. why not try an otc jock itch treatment cream for a week or so and see how that works?
I was diagnosed with jock itch back in october 09. the rash has since gone away but there is a constant dull rug burn type sensation on the left side of scrotum and occassionally penis. the sensation ceases after urinating. I did have oral sex from a girl in late september. other then the sensation and jock itch there has never been any legions or painfull sores although i now notice small red dots that when squeezed have solid pimple like material from them.
I have been diagnosed with jock itch since september 4th, I have had an exposure to someone who is hsv 2 positive on the 24th...I have had no symptoms of fever, swollen lymph nodes, but i have had podrome like symptoms.. itchy opening to my penis, tingling, leg pain, swollen testicles) I have taken a blood test(igg herpes 2select ab) six weeks out and my results were (..016) I also did the full std panel including the urine tested all of results came back negative.
They are definatly cracks in the skin, can be very pain full, come and go, very very small
I have check with the local std clinic and they do not treat for jock itch, do not test for herpies. I dont think i have an std tho. If i do i have had it for 13 years unless its some type of Staff infection my my wife having the baby. She did split badley!

Can you get HIV if you have sexual intercourse with someone who might have HIV through Jock itch. I went to the doctor a week later and all STD test came back negative as well as HIV.
I have had the same problem for quite some time. I'll use lotrimun powder spray and baby powder every morning and evening after washing, it does the trick. But during the summer when sweating is inevitable, the jock itch will return. I haven't found a permanate cure for my case, but you'll find the "jock itch" powder spray + baby powder can keep it dry for quite come time. Try it.

Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply.

I am a 25 year old male with a rash in my groin region. It is in my inner thighs and has been there for almost 6 years. i am a runner and for the longest time thought of it as "jock itch". But in recent years it has become more and more painful and varying degrres of treatment have been used trying to clear it up.
The rash had a well-defined outline and a pink center. After doing some research, I figured I would try a jock itch cream. I used Lotrimin (clotrimazole) for about a weak - which seemed to work - but the tube ran out. The next day, the rash came back. Now, it's just red with no defined edges. It's not really itchy, and I probably wouldn't have even noticed it had it not been for the oral sex.
