I dont want the horrid depression to come back. I dont know if its the aminos helping or just time. Any advise is appreciated. I am 37 days clean today. YAY!!!!

Avatar n tn proteins like eggs, cheese, beans and meats are full of amino acids..that is why u feel tired after eating turkey as turkey is full of tryptophan....what u do not need is excreted...amino acids are a big molecule and too much is hard to excete especially if u have kidney probems..lots of water if u r on higher doses....body builders use them to the extreme and can end up having diificulties with excretion...

I have been going through w/d from opiates and it really is hard but the amino acids and vitamins have helped. I went to the health store and bought the L-tyrosine 500mg and the L-Glutamine 500mg and today I had a lot more energy and the deep depression must be better because I laughed and smiled:) Twice a day I take those and the SAM-e, calcium, super b complex, 5-HTP, magnesuim and a multi vitamin.

After a few days and you're feeling better physically but bad mentally try eating a very big meal if you can.Others will have more suggestions....

Avatar f tn You can get a 2lb can of Whey Protein powder at Walmart for 15$ that has all the amino acids you need. Blend 2 scoops with a banana, milk (I use almond) and some frozen berries. Drink twice a day. This is yummy, gives you the aminos, and NO PILLS! Feel better...You are doing this!
Avatar f tn hello to all again. about the amino acids, is that rough price of $4 a bottle a recent price and if so in what part of the country? we don't have a gnc around anymore so i went to Mrs. Greens (health food store) and CVS and they were going for 15-20 dollars per small bottle! i didn't buy because i figure i may be able to get them cheaper somewhere else. everything is pretty expensive here in NY compare to other states i've been to.
Avatar f tn t take any suboxone yesterday. got through a bit of a restless night, took 2mgs this morning. anyway, about the amino acids, are there any side effects to taking those large quantities? does it make you constipated or upset the stomach at all? and for the relaxing ones, can they make you tired? just wondering. i am struggling with fatigue more than anxiety at this point so i was wondering if all those stress reducing aminos would make my fatigue worse.

During a past period of sobriety, I made an effort to exercise during the PAWS phase of recovery, eat well and take vitamins. I can say that it seemed to make me feel better. The malaise that primarily affects people during the months following detox is a big problem that I think is underestimated in its effects on a persons' ability to stay clean for the long term.

Then after day 4 you stop taking the valium or Klonpin, so you can take the energy boosting amino acids and anti-anxiety ones (these ones you cannot take with Valium or other anti-depressents so keep the lid on um for the first 4 days). I am on my 4th day and I have to tell you, I am now starting to feel better ALREADY!!! Likely because of all of the vitamins I have been ambushing my body with.

401095 tn?1351391770 Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins...lots of body builders take tons of amino acids...again..they are also found in foods we eat...would u worry about eating 3 steaks just because u r on cymbalta..if worried talk to ur doctor...but u cant avpid aminos unles u dont eat...they are high in foods high in protein...what u dont need u will excrete like most vitamins except A,D E and K as these are all fat soluble...too much protein or aminos can effect ur kidneys tho...

If your body is lacking the proper nutrients, then it also lacks the essential amino acids that the brain needs to make and maintain the chemistry (neurotransmitters) levels it requires. It also won't be able to manufacture the non-essential amino acids (neurotransmitters), all of which are needed to regulate every function of the mind and body, how you feel pain, how thoughts are processed, moods, etc.
Avatar n tn be sure u r taking a good B complex...some of the amino acids are great too... a cal/mag supp at night...5htp, methionone are some other sleep aids but not as direct as valerian....GABA also helps....i dont take melatonin as i drag in the morning after i take son has the same problem so it must be genetic...melatonin is also a good anti-aging supp and helps many with sleep...
