568812 tn?1379165794 In males, as you know UTI’s are quite rare but unfortunately once the males get the UTI’s, they become difficult to treat. Important things to be ruled out for recurrent UTI’s in a male are :- 1. Diabetes 2. Any urinary obstruction commonly due to stones/strictures 3. Any congenital abnormality in the urinary tract 4. Chronic prostatitis He should definitely see a urologist and will need further tests to rule out these possibilities. For e.g. an USG of the kidneys, ureters and bladder, IVU etc.
1310561 tn?1285863461 Anorexia is an eating disorder and is very hard on you body. While you are young now and it might not seem important, anorexia will cause issues as you get older, such as trouble with your periods, difficulty/inability to have children, as well as others.
Avatar f tn Many people with anorexia nervosa, due to trauma in their pasts, want to lose weight for the complete opposite reason, to look sexually unattractive. In my own case, because of a lifetime of being raped and abused, I wanted to become emaciated so that men would find me unattractive and would be sexually repulsed by me, so that they would leave me alone. I hope that by losing weight the abuse might stop.
1050362 tn?1253918483 When she makes me eat abit of dinner i run upstairs and get sick afterwards.ive even been giving my brother my lunch in the mornings and i tell my friends that my mum says that i dont have to eat in school because it makes me feel sick. I have no intention on stopping this even though i would love to. Im looking for somebody to talk to who has or has had bulimia or anorexia during their lives.
Avatar n tn Also ive recently had bloods done but my LFT (liver function test) has come back abnormal its been that way for 4 mounths now. Oh and i also suffer from anorexia but am having help for it and am trying to recover.
918035 tn?1274644533 You have many symptoms of anorexia. Anorexia is not about the food, it's about underlying issues that causes a person to go away from food. I will advise you to speak to an adult. Hopefully, you could talk to your mom or dad. You need to get some professional help and support. You need to see a medical doctor just to check on your overall medical condition and growth.
Avatar m tn Im 18 and I get aroused but hardly ever want to act on it. My partner gets aroused much more often than I and I, more often than not, say no even if she arouses me as well. We've been together two years and it's becoming frustrating to both of us. I'm not sure why I do it. I know that I always "don't feel like it." we participate in sexual activity roughly 4-5 times a week. There are just days when I absolutely don't want to do any sort of sexual activity.
Avatar f tn It is difficult to comment on this without physical examination. In young males, most commonly routine UTI’s or STD’s can cause pain and discomfort in the testicles. I would suggest that you encourage your boy friend, to visit a urologist for physical examination and further investigations if required. A routine urine analysis with culture and ultrasound would be enough to confirm with the diagnosis.

Avatar n tn re crossing into the area of Anorexia. I have heard about the trend with young people, especially girls, thinking that Anorexia is a "cool" or "in" thing. Well, it isn't. People die from this mental illness. Please, concentrate on being fit and healthy. When you exercise, do not do it in excess, but do not be a couch potato either. Go with moderation and go with an activity you actually enjoy. Do not become Obsessive/Compulsive about exercise or weight loss.
Avatar m tn Mostly it appears to be thinning and I began to notice it about a month ago and to me it seems to be getting worse by the week. There is no history of hair loss in my family men or women before menopause. I have been experiencing irregular periods for the past two year but they have recently been regular. It seems strange to me that a female of my age would be having hair loss. Do you think its permanent? What should I do?
Avatar m tn Yes, she's too young -- these meds aren't approved for people that young, though doctors can prescribe them. Her brain is still developing. These drugs aren't even recommended long-term for adults, so imagine if this becomes, as mentioned above, the med merry go round. I'd stick with therapy and realize that all 13 year olds are nuts in some way that sometimes lasts but usually doesn't.
Avatar f tn Hi, new here with a question. All of my 12 leads show slurring of the R wave in just the inferior leads. I know that early repolarization is common in males but I'm a young female. It also is typically associated with a slow HR but I tend to be fairly fast most of the time. I've had one ablation for SVT and continue to have problems tachycardia and apparently have PVCs frequently but I never notice them.
Avatar f tn s likely that no treatment is needed---just let your doctor know if you have repeated episodes of your pulse being higher than normal or if you have dizziness/weakness/palpitations (though palpitations in a young, healthy person are usually not serious either). I'm so proud of you for making progress in your battle against anorexia. You've made so much progress since we started chatting nearly 1-1/2 years ago. I hope you're as proud of yourself as I am of you. Keep up the good work!
Avatar m tn I doubt this is a "tumor" or "breast cnacer" .. very often in younger males these lumps are hormone related and may well go away just as the increased size of the breast. You should see your Dr. so he/she can examine the lump and there shouldn't be any needles involved at all.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if her doctors have considered issues like bulimia/ anorexia in her. Other than this issues that may need to be considered are recurrent infections, food allergies/ intolerance, parasitic infestations etc. Without a clinical evaluation it would be inappropriate on my side to comment further. I would suggest a detailed evaluation by a gastroenterologist for the above mentioned possibilities. After a cause is diagnosed, it can be managed accordingly. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn For some males, especially young males it takes very little stimulation for an erection to occur. This does not mean you are gay or that you are attracted to other males. It most likely is the stimulation of the showers. I know this must be embarrassing for you but rest assured there is nothing wrong, this can be quite normal. In time this will not be an issue as you mature and become less sensitive. Good luck to you. I promise this will get better.
Avatar m tn Hello, The commonest cause of testicular pain amongst young males is epididymitis or orchitis and normally orchitis and epididymitis co-exist. The treatment is antibiotics and painkillers only. The other pain which can present as testicular pain is pain of a stone in the ureter (tube which brings down the urine) and this can present as testicular pain. Maybe an ultrasound to rule out a stone in the urinary tract may help.
356080 tn?1227034315 I do notice he has a fear of getting fat, which made me think Anorexia, but he is still very young. I pray in time things will turn around for him.. Someday I am afraid he be sooo mad that he never met his growth potential because of this.
Avatar n tn because some investigation may be needed. Breast lumps such as you describe are fairly common in very young males are are often due to hormonal changes but at your age you need to see your Dr. for a clinical breast exam and possibly some testing. Breast lumps in males or females should NEVER be ignored. Take care .....
869670 tn?1239964618 You are taking the first step, maddie, by saying you need help, and by stating, at least on this forum, that you are anorexic. The next step is to tell someone in your life who you trust and, with their support, to get professional help. You can start with your family doctor. But he or she will, hopefully, refer you to someone who is an expert in eating disorders. You can also try attending a meeting of OA.
