Common Questions and Answers about Anorexia in relationships

anorexia

Avatar f tn Many people with anorexia nervosa, due to trauma in their pasts, want to lose weight for the complete opposite reason, to look sexually unattractive. In my own case, because of a lifetime of being raped and abused, I wanted to become emaciated so that men would find me unattractive and would be sexually repulsed by me, so that they would leave me alone. I hope that by losing weight the abuse might stop.
Avatar f tn Moving into a new situation also may cause the number of days to decrease. In serious cases of anorexia and bulimia, periods may cease completely or become very short as the woman loses weight.

918035 tn?1274644533 The problem is the voice in your head. The second problem is that you listen to the voice in your head which is telling you all the wrong things. You need to sort this out with a profesional..there are many trained to deal with eating disorders with teenagers...your parents or your doctor can help you find the right person. This can be a very serious health risk...see a professional as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn t happen over night and doing it right will keep it off longer... With anorexia the second you start to eat your body holds in everything including the fat because it knows you will starve it again. Also when you stop eating your body will start to eat itself (including your muscles). You can do this hun... keep it up and persevere.
Avatar f tn I am 22 yo and serving in the Air Force where I met my 19 yo bf! We met in tech school and have been together now for about four months...All my bf ever wanted to do was be a pilot but while he was in BMT he had a strenuous virus that attacked his pancreas and killed all of his beta cells causing him to become clinically diagnosed as a type one diabetic at the mere age of 19 and was recently medically discharged (retired) from the air force.
Avatar m tn Regarding relationships in recovery.First is it one person recovering,or both.Second whats the length of clean time, you dont need a clinical psychologist for the answer to that question, just some common sense. My belief is it all evaluated on a case by case basis.Look at the divorce rate in general, its 50%,and that for non-addicted persons. What the probability that one ,or two struggling people can make a go of it.You do the math.Best of luck.

Avatar f tn My last dose of suboxon was 17 days ago (I was only on .25 a day, had no clue it would be hard to get off) and the aches in my body are unbearable. I'm exhausted and feel sick all the time. I'm a single widowed mother of young children. I heard coming off tram is bad but was only on it for a couple weeks, no more than 100mg a day so wtf! Is this the drugs or the anorexia? I'm so depressed and tired and my body aches so much.
Avatar n tn Dear kate306, Your gastrointestinal system could definitely be thrown off from your anorexia. Your current anxiety could be the culprit for your diarrhea. Anxiety and Anorexia often go hand in hand. Seeking medical attention for your diarrhea is recommended. Getting to the root of your anxiety and decreasing your anxiety is critical. Avatar f tn I'm a 16 year old female and I am barely ever hungry. I do feel hunger only in the morning and around 2-3 hours after I eat breakfast. I usually eat two handfuls of cereal with milk. When it comes to dinner, I'll take a few bites and I'll immediately feel full and nauseous. However I can eat a lot of sweets and salty things like crisps without a problem. A doctor told me that this is anorexia but I don't want to lose weight or feel bad about my body or anything like that.
Avatar f tn i suffered from anorexia an still have blips from time to time is this the cause of my PCOS? have i caused my infertility???
Avatar m tn ...I can feel the pain. My chiropractor aptly describes my condition when he says I suffer from..."feelings of left side of body weakness and increased pressure in right side of head." He goes on to say my symptoms have not improved and appear to be permanent. My cousin who is a practicing doctor suggests it might be polymyalgiarheumatica. Then, another chiropractor says, I don't have near the inflammation needed for that.
Avatar n tn the mother was in such relationships with a number of relatives and seeks sadistic pleasures from her son even in old age. worst part is that the son also treats her as his lover and enjoys the relationship and does not want to give it up but simultaneously wants to have relations with other women too.
1621722 tn?1333050499 Exactly what issues are you having with your mother-in-law? I wouldn't put too much stock into "He said she said" situations that come circling back to you. If your mother-in-law didn't directly say these things to you I am not sure you should put your husband in the middle of this. If she had DIRECTLY said these things to you, then I could see where your husband should get involved, however, that is NOT the case here.
