Avatar m tn Thank you very much for the suggession for CAT Scan instead of angiography. I shall discuss with my Doctor too . It is his suggession only and could be done whenever I want to do. So will also consult other Doctors too. My sister is not a Heart Patient but as she felt some breathlessness, she went for Angiography. All her reports of Heart, Kidney, Lever are NORMAL.She is a Diabetic patient . But she is suffering from soars on her legs and pains when she walks.
Avatar f tn Well, I'm home from having had my CT Angiography of the brain and heart. Now, I just have to wait one week until I go back to the neuro to find out the results of it. The Neuro said my last MRI was the weirdest and unusual MRI of the brain that she had ever seen. The report said something about Vertebral Basilar Insufficiency and something about an enlarged vessel or something. My brainstem has moderate damage (Chronic Gliosis) and it didn't sound like it was damaged from the MS.
Avatar n tn My doctor have said tendonitis has set in and gave me shots and imflammatory meds. My arm is heavy, sensitive to touch and the viens in my right hand continuously inflamed..I've had a EMG on the lower part of my right arm and it's shows no nerve damage. My arm is heavy and throbs with pain. Sometime it hard to breath. It causes me to sit and stand crooked. Should I accept tendonitis or should I push for further investigation of these symptoms.
Avatar f tn I had an mri angiography of the head, due to occasional numbness that starts from tongue, and radiates to my entire left side of head and down to the tips of my left finger. I also had multiple labs, eeg, holter monitor, all were normal, with an exception of my angiography. It showed fetal origin of the posterior cerebral arteries bilaterally from the carotid circulation. It also said the basilar artery is small and appears to give rise to both superior cerebellar arteries. What does this mean?
Avatar f tn when I awake and start getting ready for office it starts. Sometimes I also feel pain in the nail of center finger of right hand that does takes log time to go. Many thank for your quick response.
Avatar f tn Tinea manum (ringworm of hand) or Tinea pedis (ringworm of foot) or scabies are other causes. Contact dermatitis could be due to anything that your hand and feet come in contact with. You must get an allergy test done, either a skin test or RAST, to know what you are allergic to. Please consult a skin specialist as it is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar f tn My Grandmother has been detected with a blockage in heart, and its not getting well by the use of medicines. Her Doctor is suggesting Angiography now. Her age is 81 by now. I wanted to take other Doctors opinion about this case.
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
Avatar n tn Hi, CT (computerized tomography) scan of the head will show a subarachnoid hemorrhage in more than 90% of cases of ruptured aneurysm. In the few cases that are not recognized by CT, the healthcare provider may consider performing a lumbar puncture (LP, or spinal tap) to identify blood in the cerebrospinal fluid that runs in the subarachnoid space. If the CT or the LP reveals the presence of blood, angiography is performed to identify where the aneurysm is located and to plan treatment.
976897 tn?1379167602 A perfusion scan, which is the most common, is one which checks blood supply to areas of heart muscle. Once intervention has occurred, such as stenting or bypass, this image should look pretty good. These scans take around 20 minutes and is certainly the type I've had twice. However, it hit me that this type of scan doesn't reveal heart muscle damage. Blood will still flow through dead areas of tissue and the scan would never know the tissue was in fact dead.
Avatar m tn s nothing to be afraid of. Why in your leg though? Any vein would do. I have injection into the vein on the back of my hand cause that's easier for them to find (I have tiny vein). One thing is some people may have allergic reaction to the dye as it enters the body; they might feel a little nauseous; I've had that happened to me once but it goes away really fast. If you are worried about that, you can take a Benadryl before the injection.
Avatar n tn Her genral codition is now stable and doctor has now advice for angiography, kindly suggest whether we should go for angiography and depending upon result of it we should go for further process ( such as angioplasty and ByPass ) as my grand mother age is 78. Please suggest.
Avatar m tn Troponin T and Troponin I are accurate and are only released by cardiac muscle. If elevated, then they usually suggest angiography because there is a very high possibility that MI has occurred. Troponin also remains elevated for up to 14 days. Should you go for Angiography? Given the results of the test, I think the question is really "is it worth the risk not to have angiography".
Avatar f tn Color Doppler of the blood vessels, MRI angiography and arteriography may be done to confirm the diagnosis. My sincere advice would be to consult a vascular surgeon. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn But she was moving fine, until 2 weeks back she had Angina attack and we got her Angiography done yesterday which revealed that her one of the artery is blocked over 90% near the beginning. Docs recommend her to go for Stent implant. Now seeing her past history of ASD,and low platelets count. Would you recommend to go for it or not? Any risks involved in that?
Avatar m tn Moreover, I would love to shoot an email with the snap shot of angiography if some expert plz give his email. So that he might give me more insightful reply. Thanks alot. Waiting for .....
Avatar f tn Should I be concerned about a CT Scan that shows 30% blockage of arteries? I have a family history of heart disease on my mother's side of the family. Almost all of her brothers and sisters have had heart attacks and blockage. I would like to know if there is any other tests that I should have done at age 48?
Avatar n tn On the basis of this cardiologist advised to get CT coronary angiography. The result of the CT coronary angiography as given below: 1.Eccentric calcific in the RCA and distal LAD causing mild (20-30%) luminal narrowing. 2. No evidence of hypo perfusion or perfusion defects in the resting first pass myocardial enhancement. Now our cardiologists has advised to get catheter angiography to rule out further. Please advise me what should me my course of action.
Avatar f tn This isn't a question. It's helpful info. Two months ago I had a calcium score done, and the report included an "impression" of ascending aortic diameter of 4 cm. I spent HOURS and HOURS researching aortic (thoracic) aneurysms in online cardiology journals, kept reading Dr. Elafteriades' study over and over about athletes ... and in the process learned that the CT scan can "grossly overestimate" aortic diameter!!!
Avatar n tn He was undergone a Treadmill test, a few weeks ago and the Doctor observed borderline positive Treadmill Test and suggested an Angiography. He undergone Angiography a couple of days ago and the report said that the Right Coronary Artery is 100% blocked. According to the Cardiologist, who performed Angiography, the blockage is old. But, my father has no pain (Angina), no fatigue and other common symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease. He’s perfectly alright.
Avatar f tn Angiography is a minimally invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Angiography uses one of three imaging technologies and, in some cases, a contrast material to produce pictures of major blood vessels throughout the body.
Avatar n tn An angiography will give the doctor a better look into what is going on inside of your heart and arteries. It is a tool used to diagnose, and give the doctor a picture of what needs to happen for your treatment. I hope this helps.
