Angiogram upper extremity

Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram upper extremity

angiogram

Avatar f tn In this there is pressure on the brachial plexus (bundle of nerves and blood vessels in the armpit) and the subclavian artery and this can compress or irritate these structures and cause symptoms such as abnormal sensation, cold extremity, claudication (pain), and lymphedema (swelling of lymph channels), discoloration (bluish or red if veins are pressed) in the involved extremity. Usually this affects only the upper limbs or arms.
Avatar m tn When this muscle shortens, this can press on brachial plexus a(bundle of nerves and blood vessels in the armpit) and the subclavian artery and can compress or irritate these structures and cause symptoms such as abnormal sensation, cold extremity, claudication, and lymphedema (swelling of lymph channels) in the involved extremity. This is a major cause of TOS or thoracic outlet syndrome. The other possibility is a boil or abscess with infection of the surrounding skin.
Avatar n tn Hi The symptoms may be due to conditions such as cervical rib syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, Raynaud’s syndrome, upper extremity ischemia, Buergers/thromboangiitis obliterans, sprained neck/whiplash or other neurological conditions. o The cervical rib syndrome may present with upper extremity pains worsened by head movement, spasms in neck, shoulder pain and others. The diagnosis is through imaging studies like X-ray spine.
Avatar m tn My test results were sent to an upper extremity specialist who reviewed the results and sent me for an MRI of my arm. After the upper extremity specialist reviewed my arm MRI results he said there was nothing he could do (no blockage to operate on). He referred me to a neurologist and hand therapist (to have a brace made and to do physical therapy). In the meantime I've suffered significant pain snd missed 2 months from work due to the pain meds.

The third possibility is TOS or thoracic outlet syndrome which occurs as the result of narrowing of space below and behind the collar bone.
Avatar f tn I get paresthesia, numbness, and spasms right above my braline. I have several 'subtle' lesions in my upper spine and one at T10. They cause most - probably all - of my lower extremity symptoms. It doesn't bother me unless I forget to take my Baclofen.
Avatar f tn I am having pulsating in upper tummy would an angiogram show your aorta
Avatar n tn A year later patient reports bilateral upper extremities weakness, pain, paresthesia with touch and proprioception symptoms as well as shooting pain and weakness on extension of arms. Patient reports bilateral medical elbow pain and inability to hold even lightweight items with arms extended Unfortunately, patient reports bilateral lower extremity “deep ache” and “heavy feeling” as well as bladder and bowel changes.
Avatar f tn Do they have a good hand or upper extremity doctor in Canada? Sounds like this is nerve related. I had this problem for a while and my nerve conduction study was normal, although I knew something was wrong. Mine was not nearly as bad as yours sounds but it did go away on its own. However maybe seeing a neurologist or an upper extremity surgeon would help give you more answers.
Avatar n tn This is something for which you will have to consult a vascular specialist. Vein thrombosis is best diagnosed by duplex ultrasound (color dopplar) or by angiogram. Vein thrombosis causes spider veins, redness on legs and a pitting edema that comes on and off. High blood pressure, kidney dysfunction, diabetes and hypothyroidism should be ruled out. Vein thrombosis is treatable, both medically and surgically.
Avatar n tn I have swollen and painful armpits and upper arms, swollen and painful mid-upper abdomen, and swollen and painful groin and thighs. My ears are swollen and drain, and my neck gets swollen internally--if that makes sense. I seem to be getting sicker. Help!
Avatar m tn I am a 70 year old male. 17 years ago had angiogram/plasty which went badly resulting in emergency bypass . 8 years ago had heart attack, treated with 3 days on heparin. 4 years ago had partial colectomy and 6 months chemo. Have peripheral neuropathy in legs and hands from FOLFOX. For the last 6 months I have been very fatigued after little exercise. Mostly sedentary and 30 lbs overweight. Blood pressure good but slow pulse and can't take beta blockers.
Avatar f tn 37 year old female presented with ataxia, lower extremity numbness, blurred vision, eye pain and unilateral hearing loss. MRI of the brain and spinal cord were negative. Evoked potentials demonstrated a spinal cord lesion. Optho diagnosed optic neuritis with a positive OCT test. The hearing loss has no other cause, but is being worked up. Over the next few months, hand numbness and weakness developed as did further lower extremity numbness and left sided foot drop.
Avatar m tn I am looking for the chain of events that ultimately results in the disposal of the extravascular iron deposits resulting from a simple bruise of the upper extremity. Hemosiderin, a globular protein, the primary Fe store must be denatured in some way to release the stored iron. Just unclear as to how the iron is released and how it is cleared from the extravascular space.
Avatar f tn Was the angiogram a CT scan? It seems if the angiogram was a cath intervention through the coronary vessel a stent implant would have been done at the time to save money and reduce the risk?! Generally a lesion greater than 70% and medication doesn't relieve symptoms, then a stent implant. Sometimes a stent implant is not an option due to location, etc. and a bypass may be the only option.
847433 tn?1243009652 I can pretty much walk just like I could before, residual lowever extremity paresthesias. Believe it or not the upper extremity pain and radiculopathy and paresthesias are being somewhat controlled with 2 epidurals i had in the cervical area. Gonna have a trigger point injection in my pack next week. Hopefully with these new pics and I go to the neurosurgeon next week, maybe he will say the cervical is the culprit.
Avatar f tn After the first incident I had left sided weakness in my upper extremity only; however, after this seconded incident, I have weakness in the upper and lower extremities to the point of being on a walker. There was no change apparent via CT scan or MRI after either occurrence. Is it possible that I am having cerebral spasms? I have already been diagnosed with severe coronary spasms (I had to be shocked during one episode).
847433 tn?1243009652 All symptoms in cervical area to be expected, pain in neck radiate scapula, radiculopathy bilateral into thumb and index fingers. NEVER HAD upper extremity weakness that I was aware of . bilateral numbess in hands. 2 cervical epidurals - improvement about 60%. EMG/NCS of cervical confirmed radiculopathy and mild bilateral carpal tunnel. QUESTION: Why wont my md's concede this is from my injury in the cervcial area.
Avatar n tn I had quadruple bypass surgery 13 years ago( using the left internal mammary artery grafting to the left anterior descending coronary) and recently had been having increasing jaw pains and upper back pains ( no dizziness or fainting). I had all sorts of cardiac tests (short of angiogram) that showed within normal limits Ejection fraction was normal but still I had these increasing symptoms of jaw pain relieved by rest.
