Angiogram of the leg

Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram of the leg

angiogram

Avatar f tn After five days the discomfort usually starts to diminish. However, it could be that the angioseal is compressing your nerve which runs right under the artery. The angioseal slowly dissolves over a period of 90 days, but in a few more days the pressure should be relieved from the nerve. If it continues after that time, there is a possibility that the cardiologist has accidentally damaged the nerve when making the incision. If this has happened, it will take a while longer to recover.
Avatar n tn Except for a minor pricking from the injection of painkiller at the top of the leg I felt nothing whatever, watched the arteries moving on the screen and talked to the doctor while he was maneuvring around them.. As it happened, a stent was put in but again, I felt nothing. I was in truth a bit uncomfortable afterwards when the anesthetic (which is only given to avoid discomfort at the entry point) wore off but I asked for a painkiller and calmed down. Go ahead. Have no fear.
776302 tn?1241091853 I to yesterday had the (Wrist Dye Angiogram). I am in a shocking way. BOTH of my legs the calfs mainly, feet, all toes & soles if my feet a almost TRIPLE in size.
Avatar n tn An angiogram can be performed with a cath (intervention with a probe through the leg vessel to the heart), or ct scan (best is a 128 slice) that views the blood flow (dye has been injected) through the coronary arteries. There isn't a high risk with a cath, and it is not painful, but have an understanding with the doctor whether or not your father wants a stent implant if there is some blockage, and whether the stent(s) are drug coated or not (obtain an opinon what the doctor prefers).
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
Avatar m tn The catheter goes into the inside of your leg, near the top, to enter the femoral artery. If this is offtrack I apologist. The area is numbed of course and you are given medication to keep you relaxed. If I'm offtrack, some cardiologists can go through the wrist.
Avatar n tn Is this normal? Not alot of pain, not large areas of bruising. Some leg pain on the inner thigh. Thank you.
Avatar n tn When l had an angiogram, l ended up with a large blood clot, in the top of my leg, which l later had to have removed, in order to save my life. Can l take any action against the person that did the original angiogram?

Avatar n tn the symptoms of headache and so on resolve, and the blood vessels return to normal. An angiogram is necessary to make the diagnosis, but additional testing that could be used in follow-up include a CT angiogram and a transcranial doppler (TCD) which is less invasive.
Avatar n tn In Aug of 2007 I had an angiogram and found out I had 5 seperate narrowings of 30 and 40 percent in my LAD and RCA. For about a month I went on a strict diet and walked a few miles every day. Then depression set in and I went on a year long ( on and off , not every week ) cocaine and depression binge. I stopped eating low fat and ate whatever I wanted at times and other times I was restrained. 2 weeks ago I went for a CT angiogram and today I got the news that my blockages are now 70 and 50.
Avatar n tn A bit of a vague report, but a follow up with the cardiologist to discuss the results should make things clearer. If you have no follow up, it might be an idea to make one. The Left anterior descending "shows plaquing" is not very detailed is it. To what extent is it plaquing. There is a blockage of 70-80% in the diagonal one, which comes off the LAD.
Avatar n tn Thank you for the information. The test went well and the angiogram showed no heart or artery problems. We are now back to ground zero trying to figure out what is causing the chest pain and extreme fatigue.
Avatar f tn d be doing without this forum everyone is so nice and knowledgeable.
Avatar m tn Your Left Circumflex vessel has a total blockage also that had a Vein from your leg grafted to it, to give a supply of blood beyond the blockage. I have no idea where the other end of the Vein was grafted to, but this end has blocked. It has no blood flow anymore into the circumflex. Your RCA too had a leg Vein grafted, but the other end of this is also blocked. However, the Right Coronary Artery has developed new feeds through tiny vessels called collaterals.
1213000 tn?1280463161 the angiogram showed that all 6 of the Endeavor stents I had placed in Feb 2010 were now closed. All four of the bypass grafts are open but flow is restricted because of "some degree of graft artery mismatch that was due to large vein grafts that were available." Also, there is up to 50% narrowing in all vein grafts that may be intrinsic to the grafts and 50% narrowing downstream of the IMA graft as well as a kink in the IMA.
Avatar n tn I think you have deep vein thrombosis of the deep veins of the leg or maybe valvular dysfunction of the deep veins of the legs. This could be causing venous pooling that is making the legs feel fatigued and heavy. The venous pooling could also be making the fragile spider veins burst causing easy bruising. This could be especially true as this was an unaccustomed exercise. This can be diagnosed by color Doppler or by angiogram of the leg veins or by duplex ultrasound.
Avatar n tn My brother-in-law had a bypass and leg swelling was the right leg. That was the leg of the harvested vessels. The swelling problem seems to be common, however, you may want to contact your father's doctor for confirmation.
Avatar f tn I have had the sensation of heat radiating in my calf - what could be the cause of it. I recently had my knee replaced 9 months ago.
Avatar f tn I had an angiogram 5 days ago, the first two days I couldn't move my leg too much, the 3rd day I was much better, 4th and 5th day (today) I have quite a bit of pain in the groin area, all around the site of the angiogram, quite a bit of bruising which I was expecting, but I don't know if this is normal or if I should go see a Dr.? The pain is not there all the time only with movement, ie. walking or standing even, if I just lay down it is not painful.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 30 years young and have had a fluorescein angiogram about two weeks ago due to blurry/loss vision and change from far sighted all my life (with strabismus) to near sighted (of course I still have the strabismus) in my right eye. The cloudy blurriness I had is gone but the vision loss is the same. The retinal surgeon did find two layers of scar tissue and a big vein under that tissue, and a frawn of veins I believe he said, and some bleeding.
Avatar m tn My husband had an angiogram days before Christmas they placed a stint in his left leg. for a few weeks, things seem to be fine, the color in his legs was looking better .Then a few days ago his right leg starts hurting to the point he can't walk then the swelling starts up his leg and spreads to the other leg and the groin. He had ultrasounds done and it;s not DVT. He was admitted to hospital where they gave him antibiotics to treat an infection and then discharged him a few days later.

The angiogram results shows negative. And doctor discharged from hospital with some prescription for 3 months. Still I am getting the pain in center of chest. Two days before I went to doctor and in ECG found the V6 changes in the lead.
