angiogram

Avatar n tn s case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
776302 tn?1241091853 My friend was rushed to the emergency room following a rash of violent vomiting. Long story short she had an angiogram procedure done, she felt a pain in her chest and went into cardiac arrest. after 35 minutes she was brought back. The doctor said she had 2 blood clots and it magically disappeared and no surgery was needed. She is up and very well. She feels that the angiogram caused her heart to stop.
Avatar n tn He has had all sorts of tests done and up until last night they said all was good except his blood flow was slightly lower than what it should be yet he was getting proper flow to all of his legs and arms. They were going to run a angiogram this morning but a test came back regarding his kidneys which caused them to not want to do the angiogram because they are worried the kidneys might be damaged in some way and the angiogram could make them worse.
Avatar m tn This is angiogram showing aorta, its branches and renal arteries and kidney outlines are seen. renal vessels provide blood supply to the kidneys.
17646939 tn?1458700001 I have a ct calcium score of 2.I am a 46yr female I weigh 275lbs. I was trying to get a surgery clearance for bariatric surgery , because I have uncontrolled diabetes, I also have high blood pressure that is well controlled with meds. My kidneys are leaking some protein.my Dr said I need an angiogram and possible stent.I was shocked and refused, because I had a bad reaction to the contrast dye. So I acquired the test results Apparently I also had angiography.
678571 tn?1228012270 My symptoms before this angiogram were chest pain with exertion of any kind. After this angiogram, I have had blood pressure problems, breathing problems, dry cough, shortness of breath and all the other symptoms that my cardiologist wanted me to do an angiogram for. He had said that if I needed an other stent put in. I would need a bypass even though I have small vessels.
Avatar f tn d be doing without this forum everyone is so nice and knowledgeable.

Avatar f tn Thank you very much for your response. I googled angiogram to get an idea of what is involved. The things that can go wrong really scare me. However, I will trust God.
Avatar n tn I've had numbers of problems with my kidneys in the past. In 2007 I had kidney failure and never went to see a doc due to not having insurance. I now have a heart murmur. I went to see my primary doc to see if i should get an agiogram, he said not to go now but wait till you get insurance and get it done. I wont have insurance for another 2 years due to pre-existing conditions. Im worried that I may in fact have a coronary block and should go get it looked at.
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
Avatar m tn so there it is and one other observation was when under going the angiogram and having dye injected into the heart, i experienced intensive visual auras, the medical proffessionals said its normal as the dye causes it, drink lots of water tea etc and wash it out of the kidneys, the auras will go away, they were right. however only on the day. I am now wondering if the kidneys are causing something which results in auras without headaches. If anyone can help me then please let me know.
Avatar n tn My father had a ct scan of the heart today and was told that calcium deposits were found. He also was told that his kidneys are not functioning properly so a previous scheduled angiogram was not performed. What causes the calcium deposits and how serious of an illness is this for him? He is 65 yrs old and never asks questions.
Avatar n tn or a laxative and if the pains persist after you have had a good bowel movement/s, then you can get sonar/scan of your Kidneys at some stage.
Avatar f tn If kidney, heart and liver problems have been taken care of, then the pain and swelling in the legs could be due to varicose veins with faulty valves of the deep vein causing venous pooling. A dopplar study or angiogram of the blood vessels of the leg should be done. Wearing a hose or stocking specially designed for varicose veins may help. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn I agree, of course you would want an explanation of the results of an angiogram. Unfortunately, due to very busy schedules of cardiologists, this is not always possible. Surely there is an appointment with a cardiologist scheduled?
Avatar f tn t think I want the invasive type of angiogram. To tell you the truth, with my low cholesterol, low blood pressure, general good health and perfect blood tests I don't think I have heart disease (I don't think afib is considered "heart disease.
Avatar n tn I was put in CCU with a tropnin level of .28. After angiogram and other tests, I was diagnosed with Coronary Microvascular Disease. It may be something you would be interested in reading about.
203342 tn?1328737207 Also, my half-brother had a heart attack about 6 years ago at the age of 42. He was smoking a lot, though and under a lot of stress. My mom is not a smoker. I'm wondering if I need to be concerned that I could get heart disease? Could this be heriditary? I did get my heart checked out last year because I was having heart palpitations. I was under a lot of stress then, too.
Avatar n tn BACNS, or benign angiitis of the central nervous system, is one type of primary angitis of the CNS (PACNS). There are a few types of PACNS, including GACNS (a pathologic diagnosis made by biopsy), and BACNS, a diagnosis which is made by angiography (a procedure whereby dye is injected into the blood vessels of the brain and they are visualized).
Avatar n tn They did an ECHO stress test and found some blockage in the back of my heart. They then requested me to do an Angiogram for them to see better in to my heart. I did and I was sent home after 4 hours. They said I am OK. Thats all. I saw my cardios letter while I was with my own GP.
Avatar m tn Some are left dominant where the LAD and LCX supply most of the back of the heart. Some are right dominant where the RCA does this job. You simply have a dominant right side which supplies the back of the heart and I believe probably the AV node too. It's really just the way your plumbing is made up and is of no concern at all. Your LCX will be a relatively short vessel compared to someone who is left dominant because the LCX comes from the LAD (left anterior descending).
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar n tn If there are blockages, a stent implant (usually done at time of angiogram) will increase the diameter of the occlusion/occlusions permitting more blood to the deficit area. Sometimes the area of blockage can not be stented because of location, tortuous segment, too long, etc...then a bypass surgical operation may be the only remedy. Alternatively, some people find relief from chest pain with medication.
