Angiogram negative subarachnoid hemorrhage

Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram negative subarachnoid hemorrhage

angiogram

Avatar n tn Otherwise, ruptured aneurysms can cause subarachnoid hemorrhage with symptoms of sudden onset severe headaches, brief loss of vision or consciousness, stiff neck. Unruptured aneurysm manifests as double vision, new unexplained headaches and pain above and behind the eyes. I would strongly suggest an urgent neurosurgical evaluation. You would need a CT/MRI brain and angiogram to confirm the diagnosis. Surgical clipping and coiling are the proposed surgeries. Wish you all the best and take care.
Avatar f tn They found a prominent subarachnoid cyst in the posterior fossa with the midline. It is approximately 3.2x5.0 cm in the axial plane. Everything else was normal. No midline shift or hemorrhage and no unusual enhancing masses are seen within the internal auditory canals or within the brain. I have known about this cyst for 17 years from another MRI for the same symptoms. I am now experiencing lethargy, balance problems, lethary as well as being diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.
Avatar f tn I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage july 07. It has left me very tired and depressd &week sleeping sometimes 17 hours a day.I reciently had an MRI That shows Multiple discrete Foci of increased T2 and inversion revovery signal are seen scattered within the subcortical and... [More] deep white matter of both hemispheres.. I don't understad what this Foci is. The question was asked Hypertensive--answer no Also asked a history of underlying Vasculitis-- answer--unknown.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure one can be 'too caring for people'. Being depressed is another matter and certainly being abused by your father can lead to depression. The best thing for you to do is to get a good physical exam. Let your doctor check out your concerns with you and discuss ways to treat your depression and anxiety. Tell the doctor all the things going on with your life and health and follow his/her directions. Treatment is available and quite helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn Since alcohol dilates blood vessels AND increases the chance of falling and striking his head, your boyfriend would be unwise to drink anything with alcohol in it. He should be grateful he is not in a nursing home, paralyzed and helpless with someone wiping his rear for him. I would offer my loved-one a non-alcoholic alternative rather than taking the chance.
Avatar f tn My partner suffered severe neck injuries after a car accident, which also gave him headaches and back pain. 3 months later he suffered a subarachnoid hemmorage at the top of the brain stem which shouldnt be clipped because of the position of the bleed. He still has the same type of headaches, loss of power and feeling and sensation to the right side of his body, blurred vision in his left eye and neck pain. Constanly being told he is very lucky!!!
Avatar f tn My mother had a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage from an aneurysm at 37 years old. Her health is still awful; she smokes and drinks heavily, and is very, very obese. She has emphysema and needs a double lung transplant, but they won’t do it because she won’t quit smoking. She had two TIA mini-strokes last week, at 46 years old. How long do you think she’s got? Our family say she’ll be gone before 50.
Avatar f tn There is no acute intracranial hemorrhage, mass effect or midline shift. The ventricles and sulci are prominent. The subarachnoid spaces are prominent suggesting mild diffuse volume loss. The visualized paranasal sinuses, mastoid air cells and middle ears are clear. My doctor said she didnt understand this CT and is going to get back to me next week. I am going out of my mind. My CT scans before have always read unremarkable.
5092217 tn?1367266627 I could have written your posts myself. It is so good to hear I am not the only one. I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage last June. Like you, I have always done everything "right". I was a runner, play tennis, yoga, walk, bike, etc., and try to always eat "right". The thunderclap headache and hospitalization was (and still is) a total shock. I am now left with headaches as well.
Avatar n tn Also many a times there is no external injury or neurological symptoms to alert the doctor. Yes, its possible to have subarachnoid hemorrhage and fracture of skull bones without any external injury (though usually you may find a contusion). I am sorry, but I cannot provide any links—its against our policy. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
1496980 tn?1288910750 Sometimes this can also be due to hemorrhage in the subarachnoid space or due to a genetic abnormality. Consult a pediatric neurosurgeon, maybe another one if this one is not giving you the details. Take care!
Avatar n tn There could be various causes for seizures in early post partum period, which are eclampsia, intracerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage, thrombotic phenomenon, following an epidural injection for anesthesia or analgesia, head trauma, amniotic fluid embolism. Preeclampsia can present late after delivery without prior eclampsia and brain swelling could cause blurred vision, headache even with the blood pressure remaining within normal limits.
Avatar f tn A very large black spot, somewhat opaque around the edges against a bright light, blocked most of his field of vision in both eyes. He has a history of heart attack and mild subarachnoid hemorrhage. Since the incident, he's had a battery of cardio tests done and nothing has changed in that area. Is this possibly a symptom of a neurological problem? And if so, what?
1069105 tn?1256700412 Mom 72, Singapore. Diagnosed w/ HTN '92. 5/’09, hospitalized due to methyldopa induced cholestasis, diagnosed w/ A fib. 8/’09, 14 days into Warfarin, she fell (cause unknown), suffering a skull fracture causing an acute subarachnoid and subdural hemorrhage. Initially paralyzed left side & recovered almost 90%. On our request, switched to Aspirin. 12/’09, open cholecystectomy due to acute cholecystitis w/ pigmented gallstones. In 5/’10 , she had a minor stroke.
Avatar f tn This can be stress related or due to sleep disturbances. Subarachnoid hemorrhage can also give headache with tinnitus so since there is no history of head injury get your blood pressure checked. It can be a chronic daily headache which is a variant of complex migraine. It can also be due to carotid artery kinking, aneurysm or blockage. High BP could be another cause. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar n tn 2005 I had asuspected acute subarachoid haemorhage related to anticoagulation[ Warfari]The summary angiogramm -negative subarachnoid bleed .warfarin reversed angiogram is normal , however the cardiologist did a cardioversion to get the rhythm back to normal .
660872 tn?1238641245 Arachnoiditis is a broad term denoting inflammation of the meninges and subarachnoid space. A variety of etiologies exist, including infectious, inflammatory, and neoplastic processes. Infectious etiologies include bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic agents. Noninfectious inflammatory processes include surgery, intrathecal hemorrhage, and the administration of intrathecal agents such as myelographic contrast media, anesthetics, and steroids.
Avatar n tn While I do not think there is evidence that smoking increasing bleeding with these vascular malformations, smoking does increase the risk of other types of bleeding in the brain like subarachnoid hemorrhage. Also, if you were to go to surgery, your surgical risks in general are higher if you smoke. I think drinking in moderation would not be harmful, but moderation really is the key. I have to emphasize that use of cocaine and other recreational drugs should be avoided.
Avatar m tn At that time injured my forehead and i am in coma nearly 45 days. i am read that in Doctors Report collected subarachnoid hemorrhage and 2nd one is linear lucent line compressed between mastoid and temporal bone. Doctor done Decompression surgery for that. but i can't able to hearing. so please tell me any surgery or any newly launched treatment to my hearing problem. S.V.V.
Avatar n tn Normally a 16 slice CT scan will catch a brain bleed in a 14 month old immediately. However, if there is a slow subarachnoid hemorrhage, it may not show up in an initial scan say one done within 24 hours. At times this bleed starts a week after injury causing symptoms and the need for a MRI. If the child is symptomatic consult a neurosurgeon and maybe MRI will be a better option with less radiation exposure.Take care!
Avatar n tn Hmmmm...a mini bleed on the surface??? That sounds like a subarachnoid hemorrhage which is another form of a stroke. That's where the bleed is on the surface of the brain between the brain and the skull, which is just as devastating. It doesn't have to bleed into the brain for it to be a stroke. Make sure her blood pressure stays down and talk to a neurologist. If the doctors say it wasn't a stroke you should ask exactly what was it that happened.
Avatar m tn What you have is probably headache with tinnitus (abnormal sound in ear). This can be stress related or due to sleep disturbances. Subarachnoid hemorrhage can also give headache with tinnitus so since there is no history of head injury get your blood pressure checked. It can be a chronic daily headache which is a variant of complex migraine. It can also be due to carotid artery kinking, aneurysm or blockage.
