Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram negative

angiogram

Avatar m tn Iam 31, 2 Months before i got the chest pain and I immediately rushed to the hospital. They did the ECG and found little changes in V4 - V5. And I went through the angiogram. The angiogram results shows negative. And doctor discharged from hospital with some prescription for 3 months. Still I am getting the pain in center of chest. Two days before I went to doctor and in ECG found the V6 changes in the lead.
Avatar m tn Since I am not satisfied, i went to other cardiologist , He ignored that ECG and told , if your angiogram is negative. Then there is a no heart related problem. And told to stop the medicines. Please advice..
Avatar m tn But I would like to know witch one of the two is more reliable test.. Considering I had a negative nuclear stress test.. Will the ct angiogram be a more persised test at pinpointing and finding a possible problem.. Or is the nuclear stresst test just *** good.. The both look for blocked blood flow to the heart just in differnt ways..
Avatar m tn As an example, my nuclear scan showed excellent results, but I had already had an angiogram. My angiogram showed a completely blocked LAD and a blockage in my LCx. My right artery was also totally blocked halfway down. Collateral vessels played a huge role. The amount of radiation used is not that high and risks are low.
Avatar f tn s ECG and Inhanced stress test were both negative. The blockage was only seen from the angiogram. What is the likelyhood in resolving this blockage with a stent therefore reducing or eliminating the angina symptoms? My concern is, by not looking after this blockage and potentially waiting for another to develop elsewhere vs. just continuing to take medication to keep the angina "at bay"?
Avatar n tn The only test that is the most certain except for open heart surgery is the angiogram. The angiogram will give a very good indication as to what is going on. You are female so your hormones should protect you against heart disease or at least help protect you. When you go through menopause, the LDL levels will rise quickly. Usually, that it when the problems begin for women. I would think with the cholesterol medication you could get your LDL under control. Your LDL should be down to 100.
Avatar f tn I had a myocardial infarction 10 years ago and i had a an open heart surgery since then and now i am experiencing symptoms of stable angina and my angiogram is completely clear and the bypass is 100% success and all the tests are negative, can a thallium stress test be useful or it will not be conclusive because of the former heart attack
Avatar m tn Can a nuclear stress show false positive? What are the percentages of false negative? Some mild discomfort shortly after the stress test. Is there any significance to this? Should I request a third angio? In addition, I have a Hiatial Hernia which I've heard can have the same symptoms of chest pain.
Avatar n tn I am 37 year old female and I have had chest pains ongoing for a few months negative test the whole way. My doctor suggested an Angiogram to make sure that something is not being missed. I am a little nervous and thought someone could answer some questions I have? 1. Is this a fairly safe procedure? 2. What are the risks? 3. Do all the serious risk only happen during the procedure? 4.
Avatar f tn I have been dealing with chest pain for over a year now I have had several ekgs a stress test that came up abnormal so then they did an angiogram which came back normal yet I am still having chronic pain in the left side of my chest off and on and its sharp I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO !!!!!!!!!! 548182 tn?1215216723 I was tested for all kinds of blood work including ANA up to the more uncommon work ups like Protein S and C -- all of which i tested negative - my doctors think it wasnt vasculitis that caused it. I had a CT scan, MRI/MRA which revealed a narrowing of blood vessel in my brain.. that triggered the stroke. They are decided that it was the smoking, the OCPs and me being overweight were the causes of my stroke.. although NOW, my neurosurgeon is recommending a CATHETER ANGIOGRAM.
Avatar m tn Im scheduled for a ct angiogram for shortness of breath with dizzyness.i saw a differnet cardiologist for a second opinion and he feels its ideal because of the ongoing shortness of breath im experiencing with meals and excersis. In the past iv had three ct scans for other health reasons not heart related. my concerns are iv had three ct scans and this next one makes it four, The amount of just one ct scan is tolerated by the body but 4 ct scans sounds excesive to me and so im really concerned.
Avatar f tn This is best diagnosed by duplex ultrasound (color dopplar) or by angiogram. If dopplar is negative, then ask your vascular specialist whether an angiogram should be done or not. Infection of deep veins called phlebitis and infection of skin called cellulitis could also be a cause. It can also be infection of lymphatics. At times it is also due to low sodium, potassium, magnesium or calcium in the body. Hence serum levels of these electrolytes should also be checked.
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
Avatar f tn You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure. Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.
Avatar n tn After a cardigraph treadmill test I'm being referred for angiogram - I'm going on holiday in two weeks with a 3 hour flight. Should I travel?
329165 tn?1515471990 I had an Angiogram done in 01/2007. i have familial-cholestorol (latest lipo showed total of 6,9 fasting) During the Angio they only found coronary artery spasms. no blockages found. the past 4 weeks or so I have been experiencing chest tightness and some burning pains in chest - at rest. lasting under 1 minute and dissolves by itself. I have not been taking any Cholestorol meds (medical aid depleted) for the past 7months.
Avatar f tn My partner is having an angiogram after suffering chest pains a few weeks ago. NAD was found at the time from blood tests and ECG (done over 18 hours). Was kept in overnight. Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication. His chest pains were 4 weeks ago and he's had nothing since.
Avatar n tn my mother is suffering from chest pain now Doctor is saying to go for angiogram test?
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
