Avatar f tn t think I want the invasive type of angiogram. To tell you the truth, with my low cholesterol, low blood pressure, general good health and perfect blood tests I don't think I have heart disease (I don't think afib is considered "heart disease.
Avatar m tn I was concerned i might have high blood pressure, i have minor tinnitus that comes and goes, and my ENT and family doc thought it might be allergy related. But i read that it could be a sign of high blood pressure. Ive never been told i had high blood pressure in the past. Today i was feeling a little stressed at work, i know you cant feel blood pressure, but it felt high. So i left work, and had my wife check it at her office, and i got two readings of 135/90 and 141/93.
Avatar f tn Had no discomfort since, but suffers from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol which are all controlled and low due to medication. His chest pains were 4 weeks ago and he's had nothing since. At the time of his chest pains the emergency doctors said not heart related and probably pulled muscles in his chest. After being sent for a treadmill test, which they wouldn't do due to T waves, we went to see a cardiologist privately. An angiogram was recommended.
Avatar f tn I would be most concerned with ventricular tachycardia, a certain type of arrhythmia associated with low blood pressure (hypotension) or ischemic heart disease (coronary artery disease, unstable angina). In regards to the fact they are “irregular” by your heart rate monitor, this could signify a few conditions in particular. Atrial fibrillation is a common arrhythmia that is irregular.

678571 tn?1228012270 My symptoms before this angiogram were chest pain with exertion of any kind. After this angiogram, I have had blood pressure problems, breathing problems, dry cough, shortness of breath and all the other symptoms that my cardiologist wanted me to do an angiogram for. He had said that if I needed an other stent put in. I would need a bypass even though I have small vessels.
Avatar m tn Im not certain how you think the blood pressure medication is affecting your diastolic pressure? I'd have to assume that you understand that it should be lowering it and perhaps your question is if youre having some paradoxical response. Have you had a stress echo. Any family history of heart disorders. Any secondary causes of hypertension at such a young age. Certainly you may be experiencing a response to the anti hypertensives.
Avatar m tn low blood pressure can be the result of the two damaged valves. Basically, less blood is being pumped around the body than should be. If he is on beta blockers, it is possible he is on too high a dosage. Some people are more sensitive to such drugs than others. If I take more than 1.25mg of beta blockers, my pulse drops to 28. If there are two damaged valves and if these are the cause of the low pressure, then surgery will be required to repair or replace the valves with mechanical ones.

Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply, yes they used the pressure method to close it up, I do have an appointment tomorrow so we'll see what my Dr. says. Thankfully it was found that I have no blockages, my heart is quite healthy, the Dr's do not know what is causing my blood pressure and heart rate to increase with little excertion. Anyway thanks for your response.
Avatar n tn Blood pressure initially increases at high altitude due to the initial stress of low oxygen triggering neurohumoral changes. However people who suffer from high blood pressure can go up to high altitude as long as this is well controlled and they continue to take their medication.
Avatar n tn Hello, My father was recently admitted to the hospital for trouble breathing. They checked his blood pressure and his systolic was 250 at one time but now down to 150. I'm not sure what the diastolic was in either case. I know that this is extremely high, but is this really that strange for someone that would need to go to the hospital for heart related issues? What course of action will likely be taken. Should I be more worried than I already am?
Avatar n tn The doctors will be performing an angiogram to look to see if you have blockages in your coronary arteries (the arteries which supply blood to the heart) which are the cause of your slightly low ejection fraction and wall motion abnormality (which means that part of your heart isn't beating a vigorously as your would like). It is a simple procedure in which the doctors will pass catheters either from the arm or leg into the heart.
122065 tn?1241385329 Just had an angiography of the eyes with contrast as a followup to the vitreous separation and a cotton wool patch was discovered on the left eye. Health is good - low blood pressure, no diabetes, low cholesterol, etc. Doc assured me it will go away but was concerned with what may have caused it. I am on HRT and he said this could be the culprit. Ae there any symptoms with these patches? That eye is feeling just a bit off.
Avatar m tn s, CAT scans and blood work, urine tests, I even had an angiogram. Nothing seems to be showing up in the tests. I am now having trouble with blood pressure. At rest it will spike to crazy numbers a little while later it will be abnormally low. I am trying medications to try and aid in the symptoms but have had no luck finding the problem.,.I also have extreme weakness in my arms when i do anything physical with them. I have seen cardiologists, endocrinalogist and my own doctor.
19887518 tn?1486048647 s a function of cost and invasiveness. They all start with basic heart rate and blood pressure, then EKG, then halter monitor, then Echocardiogram, then Nuc stress test, then angiogram, with each being more costly and more invasive, and also more accurate. I understand your frustration, been through it too, but this is how they do it. DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a doctor. You should only accept medical advise from a licensed professional.
Avatar f tn I am a 26 year old female, fairly active, non-smoker, I drink a few times a year, normal cholestoral, not diabetic, slim build, low-normal blood pressure. Back in December I felt a tightness in my chest and went to the doctor thinking I had a cold coming on. During the visit the doctor found my pulse to be fast (120). She sent me for an ECG which showed my pulse to be normal. They than sent me for a stress test and once again my pulse was high, but everything else was fine.
Avatar n tn I have a history of high cholesterol and am currently on a cholesterol reducing medication as well as a medication to reduce blood pressure. I was offered several options as the next step and opted for a CT angiogram. Given my other results, should I have gone directly to the more conventional angiogram in spite of the slightly greater risk? If there is a good chance that I will need an angiogram anyway, am I not putting myself at risk by going through another step?
Avatar m tn Dear kenkeith, Thanks a lot for your quick response. Actually my father never had angina and he has no history of high or low blood pressure, He is slim as only 60 Kgs with 5' 6" of height. he never smoked and drank only occasionally. And now he is feeling fine except a little dizziness. Do you suggest for angiogram at this stage?
Avatar f tn m 55 y/o, only slightly overweight, not a smoker or drinker, have VERY good blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and cholesterol numbers. I did just recently have a nodule found on my thyroid (which had grown in size over the last couple of years, but is still considered small), which my regular doctor wants me to have checked out. Also, recently I learned that I was extremely low on vitamin D, for which I'm taking supplements.
