angiogram

Avatar n tn s case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
Avatar f tn Plavix is to be taken with precaution in presence of kidney problems. Cozaar is to be avoided or taken with extreme precaution in CHF. This along with low blood pressure could have prompted your PCP to stop these drugs. For a person to have an angiogram he should be medically in a condition to tolerate the procedure and the dye used. Before doing an angiogram the doctors will do an EKG, an echocardiogram and/or chest X-rays. This is a tough situation.

Avatar n tn I've had numbers of problems with my kidneys in the past. In 2007 I had kidney failure and never went to see a doc due to not having insurance. I now have a heart murmur. I went to see my primary doc to see if i should get an agiogram, he said not to go now but wait till you get insurance and get it done. I wont have insurance for another 2 years due to pre-existing conditions. Im worried that I may in fact have a coronary block and should go get it looked at.
Avatar f tn They just wanted to do an Angiogram to see if there were any problems. That is when they found the blockages. My Dr,s were shocked to find them. I had 1 stent put in, and an Angioplasty in the other due to I need a 2 mm stent that is drug eluding, but it is currently not availiab... Since then 11/04 , the stent is now offered. My symptoms have improved, and I feel no pain. Is it wise to still have the stent placed?
Avatar n tn So the stents are not to blame, but what medication are you on? Some of them will cause kidney problems. Been there, done that.
Avatar n tn I had an angiogram 7 weeks ago with no sign of blockages, yet I am in constant pain, which worsens when I try to lift. I cant even walk fast and am exhausted, dizzy and nauseated. 974371 tn?1424653129 Ok, I haven't even seen a cardiologist yet. Actually, I've had chronic mouth and throat problems no doctor is able to diagnose. In the mean time, I've been complaining of a *hard* heart beat for a while. My doc, as usual, attributes it to nerves. I mentioned it yet again so he finally sent me for a halter monitor and an ECHO treadmill stress test. I knew I didn't do to well on the stress test.
776302 tn?1241091853 It is important that you drink lots of fluids after an angio procedure. You have to get the contrast out of your system to prevent kidney problems. I had a 2 hour procedure the other day and a LOT of contrast. As soon as the procedure was over, I was given 2 cups of water to gulp down, even though I felt nauseous. I was then supervised to drink 3 litres of water in 2 hours which certainly flushed me out. I was then given a healthy lunch and the nausea disappeared.
Avatar n tn My general practicioner sent me to a nephrologist who thought I may have a blockage in an artery to a kidney. They did a renal angiogram, and did find a small artery to the kidney causing the problem, but nothing that could be repaired by angioplasty, just genetically small arteries. They also found the renin level in my kidney to be very high due to the small artery. Ace inhibitors work the best for me, but due to side effects was taken off them.

Avatar m tn Fluctuations of BP on a higher side are mainly due to hormonal imbalance, kidney or heart problems. BP can also go to higher side after a physical activity like climbing stairs, running etc and this comes back to normal after rest. It can also be to due to anxiety and stress. Hence careful tests like kidney function test, stress test or treadmill test, ECHO, EKG, BP monitoring, and complete hormonal profile needs to be done. I understand most of these test have been done.
Avatar m tn An angiogram is not looking for electrical conduction problems like an EKG or holter monitor test. An angiogram rules out major blockages in the heart from plaque, etc.. Please ask your doctor for an event holter monitor that you can wear to check on the rhythm and electrical conduction of your heart.
678571 tn?1228012270 My symptoms before this angiogram were chest pain with exertion of any kind. After this angiogram, I have had blood pressure problems, breathing problems, dry cough, shortness of breath and all the other symptoms that my cardiologist wanted me to do an angiogram for. He had said that if I needed an other stent put in. I would need a bypass even though I have small vessels.
