Avatar n tn I've had numbers of problems with my kidneys in the past. In 2007 I had kidney failure and never went to see a doc due to not having insurance. I now have a heart murmur. I went to see my primary doc to see if i should get an agiogram, he said not to go now but wait till you get insurance and get it done. I wont have insurance for another 2 years due to pre-existing conditions. Im worried that I may in fact have a coronary block and should go get it looked at.

Avatar f tn I hope you find it helpful somehow, and blessings for you and your dog - Blu Stage 3 kidney disease is one of the final stages of canine kidney disease, in which your dog will begin showing symptoms of kidney failure. Canine kidney disease occurs when, for whatever reason, your dog's kidneys are not doing their job of removing toxins from the blood efficiently. Avatar n tn Hi Everyone. I am trying to get some answers regarding the treatment of an elderly male in the UK. He has been diagnosed with heart failure and has a leaky valve and some irregular heart rythums. At the moment he still gets breathless after walking up a few stairs and I'm not happy with this situation. He also has a persistent cough which may be linked to his medication. He does have some water retention in lower legs.
Avatar m tn Could my BUN have been normal and still have kidney disease or failure, and also no protein was found in my urine, soo......????
Avatar n tn I had congested heart failure 6 years ago, and at that time I had an angiogram and 1 stent. Currently, I have 100% blocked LAD and 72% blocked ICx. I have had 3 echos, 1 stress test, and 1 ct scan. Not necessary to have another angiogram. If you have chest pains or other symptoms that are heart related that can't be treated medically, the interventional cardiologist may advise an angiogram subsequent to a stress test that identifies any perfusion abnormalities.

Avatar m tn The kidneys are unable to regenerate -as the liver can- from damage or failure. Usually, by the time kidney failure is diagnosed, 75% of function is already lost. (This of course can vary, depending on the 'staging' of the disease.) The only thing which can be done, is to try to keep the kidneys functioning at 25% or whatever level of function there is. That is, to stop it getting worse, for as long as possible. That is feasible, with the right treatment.
Avatar m tn If the damage happened overnight (accute kidney failure) it might be reversable. If it happened slowly (chronic kidney failure), unfortunately it's not reversible. At 30% function your mom can still live well. There are many guidelines to follow. She should start seeing a nephrologist on a regular basis to discuss this guidelines. I would also recommend she start learning about treatment options.
Avatar f tn Estimated glomerular filtration rate less than 15 is already stage 5, which is very severely reduced kidney function. This is sometimes called end-stage kidney failure or established renal failure. There are many factors to consider and it is difficult to predict the next kidney function will be with just limited information. It is best that you talk to his attending physician also for proper evaluation.
