After receiving unprotected oral sex from a female (male recipient). Someone is prescribed 500mg amoxicillin 3x's daily for 10 days, would this abort the incubation of such std's as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, or syphilis? The antibiotics were prescribed the day after the encounter (within 24 hours). I've been hearing different things from different sites and its been driving me crazy. Do I need to worry? Thank you.
Then I noticed my lymph node on my neck on the left side was a bit swell. I took amoxicillin and it seemed to go down but now its swell again. I feel a little bump behind my left ear which was there from the beginning. Is this serious? Or maybe a stronger dosage of amoxicillin?
It is the Amoxicillin giving her diarhea, call the prescribing Doctor to see if you should continue giving it to her or ask him to change it. She needs an anti biotic for the ear infection, he will know what to do tell him about the Diarhea.
i hope this is not ars so i went to nose and neck specialist and prescribed for amoxicillin 750 mg which i had today and ferlling better now. today morning i had small rounded herpes on my lips as well as on my back sides of neck and chest after 25 days of exposure. so i am worried about this red small herpes.
i want to know that what other stds after such a risky exposure should i have to test. the symptomps which i have now is herpes.

My wife and 4 year old daughter and I leave for the beach on Friday for a week. My Dr. gave me amoxicillin and also prescribed it for my wife and daughter. He suggested that they start it just in case since we are all traveling for a week. He said to start them on it now as a preventative. Should I do this? What about sun exposure and exercise with this drug? My daughter had never taken antibiotics before either.

Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
I am still feeling the symptoms in my sinuses so I went to the Dr last week and was prescribed Amoxicillin. About 20 mins after taking it I had this strange sensation on my lip...like a tingling/itching feeling and became itchy all over. I called the Dr and she prescribed Clarithromycin. I didn't want to take it right away, just in case I had a similar reaction. A few days later I took one pill and noticed that I was itching again...so I stopped taking that as well.

I have been repeatedly prescribed amoxicillin to fight a bacterial infection. I had difficulty figuring out that I was having an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin because many of the symptoms (abdominal pain and swollen glands) were similar to the original infection and the more classis symptoms (tching and hives) didn't appear until after I had finished my third prescription.
My question? Is amoxicillin less effective in fighting an infection if you are allergic to the antibiotic?

The treatment of choice depends on the established diagnosis.For example, if the lesion is white sponge nevus, no treatment is indicated. If the lesion is lichen planus, parmacotherapy is effective. If the lesion is epithelial dysplasia, surgical intervention is indicated.

Today I took my 15 month old son to one of his regular checkups. His doctor had noticed some fluid in his left ear and said he had a small infection. I told her he had a cold and some congestion but I didn't know about his ear. She prescribed him Amoxicillin for his ear and told me something about the dosage. All I remember her saying is something about 1 tsp.
I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Niacin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin.
