I went in for a root canal and was given amoxicillin. Afterwards, I blew up with hives and swelling. My hands and feet were so swollen they hurt. My throat closed. I got steroids and the hives got better. Then the joint pain kicked in. My hands and right shoulder were so painful I couldn't use/move them. The symptoms would go away and return (the joint pain not hives). My shoulder hasn't bothered me lately but my hands and fingers still hurt.

I was given 875mg of amoxicillin this time when I went to the doctor. The amoxicillin seems to be working wonders. After only 2 doses the swelling and pain have significantly reduced however my stomach doesn't seem to like amoxicillin too much. A lot of cramping. I was wondering if there was a way to try to soothe my stomach while being on the amoxicillin?
My doctor put me on amoxicillin for 7 days because of small infection. Is it okay to be taking this while I'm pregnant.?
prescribed a second antibiotic of Metronidozale along with the Amoxicillin..my swelling and pain has gone down but still noticeable swelling and discomfort. How long does this take to go away?? And what can I do to help get rid of it quicker? I'm embarrassed to leave my house and not a happy gal.

Amoxicillin + metronidazole may be more effective than amoxicillin alone. After extraction , amoxicillin, metronidazole, Tylenol, and Advil are effective post op pharmacological intervention, which yields minimal post op discomfort.
I was given a prescription of more darvocet and amoxicillin 500mg. well the amoxicillin gave me bad side effects, nausea, vomitting, diarehea. so i stopped taking them. i notified the dentist 10/9/06 of the amoxicillin side effects i was then told i probably didn't need them and not to worry about taking another antibiotic. on 10/10/06 i awoke to find my face on the left side swollen and painful.
The dentist first prescribed amoxicillin for the infection. It has been over ten days, and I have pain and swelling in my lower cheek. Upon calling my dentist, I asked for a stronger antibotic (hence I have a tolerence of amoxicillin due to years of usage) he denied and let me know I needed to have tooth immediately extracted or the infection would spread. I do not have the funds currently this week to get it extracted. I have a prescription for amoxicillin that I have not used.
After my unsuccessful 48 weeks of traditional HCV treatment, I took amoxicillin as prescribed for pre dental work as I also have a total joint replacement. I was alarmed that my viral load came roaring back only 3 months post treatment. I wanted to know if there is any link to amoxicillin and feeding the HCV virus?

I've been on Amoxicillin for 5 days for a tooth abscess. I went to the dentist for significant facial swelling, and was diagnosed with the abscess. The swelling has gone down, however I now have a pus pocket on my gum above my molars. It's only painful when I touch it, but I can see the swelling under my cheek when I smile. Since I'm already on Amoxicillin, can I pop the abscess using a sterilized needle? It's Friday night, and the dentist won't be in until Monday...
This swelled immensely causing my lip to bulge, left eye swelling, cheek was massive. It disappeared after2 weeks of amoxicillin ibuprofen and naproxen. Everything was fine for a few weeks now i have severe pain under my nose and in my cheek bone area. When i press down it hurts worse. When i talk the pain radiates out to the surrounding teeth and gum areas. There is no oral swelling or pus pocket and i think it has started again.
im took tylenol for fever and joint pain, so far today i didnt experience any fever, coldness and joing pain except my headache, it never worn out even with the use of pain relievers. it hurts when i turn my head, when i sneeze, laugh. it feels like something is shrinking or constricting inside. i have amoxicillin 500mg here which good for 7 day course. would that be helpful?
My daughter (2 1/2 years old) has the same thing. At her last dentist appointment, the dentist told me to start flossing-which i did that day. I did it for two days and stopped because she just wasnt' interested. The FOLLOWING WEEK, she had a low grade fever (which i think was due to her molars coming in). The next day, she wouldn't eat and wouldn't let me get near her mouth.

After I got it drained my dentist put me on 4,000mg of Amoxicillin a day becasue I had to get rid of the infection and the swelling had to continue to go down before he extracted the tooth. In my opinion I feel your husband is on proper treatment. However I'm uncertain about the effects of it being long term and the possibility of blood being in his semen.
The following Monday I saw an eye doctor that treated me for pink eye, with Neomycian, that it turned out I was alergic to. In about two weeks the pain/swelling/headaches went away on their own. I felt and looked fully recovered as my eyes would not be swollen in the mornings and my vision was excelent once again. I had not been exposed to pink eye and the problem seemed to be viral. Two months later the symptoms have returned.
He put me on Amoxicillin and told me to contact my dentist on Monday. The Amoxicillin is helping, the swelling on the outside is already gone down, only on the gum itself is swollen. I went in today and the Dentist did a 4th x-ray and examined the mouth. He said there is nothing he can see wrong with the teeth on the x-rays. My teeth are a tiny bit sore. He recommends I finish my Amoxicillin (5 more days) and if it hasn't gone away then I need to probably see a endodontist. Any suggestions?
I was on amoxicillin for a few months for a dental abscess. This was around 7 months ago. Since then, my lower lip on the right side has been swollen. My checks also swell sometimes on the inside. This has been going on and off for around 6 months. The lip swelling goes down but never really goes away completely. The cheek swelling is the same as it comes and goes but is always somewhat puffy and swollen still. No real pain, just annoying.

I have gilberts syndrom and bilirubin has been the only elevated test until now. Having no symtoms, stopped taking amoxicillin 2 weeks before test as prescribed for chest cold/flu, started vigour excercise 2 weeks before test, fasted lime i should before test.
Why the elevated levels?
19 Years old, and have random joint pain in wrist, shoulders, and knees. I can't sleep until I am absolutely exhausted, like an old man in church, whose head is starting to bob. I usually have to crawl out of bed to pee before I can sleep, and its a really small urination.
What is wrong with me?
