I took amoxicillin for a UTI in the beginning of my pregnancy. As long as your doctor is okay with it and prescribes it for you, you should be fine.
My doctor diagnose me with UTI and was advised to take antibiotic (amoxicillin) though she advised that this is the safest for pregnant mum, I'm kinda hesitant to take it. Do u mum's experience anything of this? What can you advised me to to get rid of my UTI? Thanks!
I was wondering if these two things were correlated with each other. I thought the amoxicillin might have given me a uti. Is that even possible?
I wouldn't take it I would call my Dr and get in their as soon as possible.
So, a while ago i posted thayt the doc put me on amoxicillin at 32weeks for the remainder of my pregnancy due to continuous UTI. Well, abour a week in of taking them i noticed that i was sore and swollen with some withish thick discharge. After a few days it went away. It has been coming and going every few days now. Right as i think it goes away, i start feeling extremely sore abd tinder and that noticeable white discharge pops up.
You need to be taking folic acid and that's all. Anything else you need to see a doctor and have them prescribe something for you because it's not always safe to take other medicines during pregnancy (especially in the first few months). I work in a pharmacy and as far as I'm aware amoxicillin is not used as treatment for a UTI and neither is it safe to use during pregnancy. You need to see a doctor ASAP.
Hi. I had uti about a week ago I took amoxicillin that I had left over from a tooth being pulled. I'm pretty sure the uti went away. I don't have burning or urge to pee but my back is begging to hurt. I don't have chills or fever. Everyone in my house has some type of bug. I have a stomachache. Is this still a uti or something else?

I was on amoxicillin for a UTI, how long should I be off of the antibiotic before getting another culture? Amoxicillin has a 60 minute half life, very short. Could you go the next day to get a urine culture?
Okay. This all started in January when I got a UTI. They gave me medicine to treat the UTI but after finishing the course it still didn't go away so I waited a little bit longer to see what would happen. Nothing. The doctors couldn't figure out what was going on. Later that month I got a tonsil infection (something that happens frequently to me) and I went to a different doctor to get antibiotics for it. I mentioned the ongoing UTI to her and she prescribed me Amoxicillin with Potassium.
amoxicillin and pregnancy. It is category B, which means that in animal studies where animals were given 10 times the human dose, there was no increase in birth defects.
It is MUCH safer to take the the amoxicillin than it is to leave your UTI untreated.
Ok so the amoxicillin didn't clear up my initial UTI, then it took the dr a week to get my labs in for my next sample which came back positive for e. coli. In the meantime the bacteria had a week to multiply w/o antibiotics. I'm now on nitrofurantoin and still have trouble emptying my bladder. Over the course of the medication I've noticed burning when I pee (a symptom I didn't have until a few days ago)- today it's pretty bad and tomorrow is my last day of medication.

What Were You Prescribed? I Was Prescribed Nitrofurantoin Macro. & Does Or Can A UTI Effect Your HCG Levels? I Know None Of You Are Doctors & Nurses (or maybe you are idk lol) But If You Got One What Information Do You Remember Learning? Symptoms You Had, Any Advice? Etc. Just Anything To Calm My Nerves.
Anyway they also did a urinalysis and it came back with positive for white blood cells so she said thats it. Pain can be caused by a UTI in this area? She kind of brushed me off after this. The pain that goes down my back reminds me of the sciatic pain I had while pregnant? Could she have missed something on the ovary or something in the uterus that could be pushing on that sciatic nerve? Or could a UTI really cause pain like this?
Hey everyone, about three months ago I got my paragard IUD out after having it in for six years. That very night I went home and felt symptoms of an oncoming UTI, a really slight burning (not when I pee, just a burning "down there") and the frequent urge to urinate. Well, it never turned into an actual UTI; it was just those faint symptoms, which confused me. I thought maybe they were a weird side effect of Paragard removal and ignored them for a few weeks.

Last saturday, I went in for a UTI. The docs were concerned because it was my 4th during this pregnancy and i was having severe back pain and contractions. They checked me out put me on bedrest and gave me antibiotics. Well it has been 6days and my hoo-ha still feels itchy and swollen much like a UTI (but I'm not experiencing the burning sensation when I pee). I'm just curious as to if i should be concerned and if i should be what should I do? Thanks in advance!
She also recently has a little blood in her urine. I am treating her with amoxicillin, and understand that she may have a UTI underlying the ectopic ureter, but does it really sound like one if she is not constantly dripping and squatting to urinate? If you do think it is only a UTI, how soon does it really take to clear up? I have her on Amoxicillin 250mg TID, and this is her third day treatment. I have two more days before the breeder decides to put her down or not.
