I am currently 18 years old and have been taking amoxicillin for approximately two years as prescribed to me by my dermatologist to help treat my acne. It has done wonders for my skin but I have been feeling depressed and almost never happy. I researched a bit to find that many parents have issues with their toddlers and younger children having mood swings and depressive behaviors after taking the antibiotic but no anecdotes about older children.
Thanks to everyone who's posted on forums here, quite a number of remedies that have worked for some amongst us. I had OT for about 14 months and tried most of the home cures with occasional temporary relief. Like most, I appear to have developed OT after a round of antibiotics and/or indication of Candida Yeast infection/exposure. In my case I had been on a low level Tetracycline prescription for decades to help control adult acne.
B) I was put on Amoxicillin for strep two weeks ago and this for some reason seemed to help clear up my face....does this mean that it cannot be herpes- but rather bacterial? now it's coming back though.
C) My stress and anxiety from potential exposure, and new job has been keeping my up at night for weeks etc, could this cystic breakout be caused by extreme stress?
Which I am sceptical because when I took Amoxicillin it was 1 a day pill for a week and as soon as i took it the bacteria was going away. Now I've taken Clindamycin like 5 times, because it's 1 pill ever 6 hours. There is 28 pills in total. But I don't see the bacteria fading, like the Amoxicillin.
Due to a recent oral sex encounter, I got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia in the throat. Those swabs were done with the Aptima Combo 2 Assay and came back negative. I took azithromycin and rocephin injection as a precaution (before the swab results came back), and am currently taking Augmentin to get rid of the strep. I was feeling fine and healed until yesterday when my throat started to hurt again.
So he went to his physician who was easy to prescribe antibiotics. In this case the antibiotic, Amoxicillin did nothing for him. So he was prescribed it again and yes again until his doctor changed antibiotics and after a long 2 months the symptoms seemed to fade. He had lost weight, noticed he lost his complexion, felt symptoms of low testosterone, and became depressed. He described himself as feeling diseased. He had not totally recovered from his illness.
Would 1 gram, 3x daily (3 grams daily) of Amoxicillin for 10 days kill Chlamydia and Gonnorea?
What other conditions might cause a pinching sensation and a slight red discloration at the tip of my penis?
If you've been on Amoxicillin for more than 3 days and are not starting to feel better go back to the doctor and get a different antibiotic.
I've been taking amoxicillin for chlamydia for 5 days now with no relief. It's still very painfull everytime I urinate.
On day 5 now, I have an odd taste in my mouth all day. Is that normal when taking amoxicillin?

RUBBISH !!! Amoxicillin is the safest antibiotic for cats who do not have an allergy to penicillin - and very few have. Where are you getting your information???
So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?
I just got done with a prescription for 875 mg of amoxicillin twice a day for 10 days. Will that cure chlamydia and gonorrhea??

Thanks for your comment, I have been taking probiotics for about 8 days and my rapid heart beat/anxiety and insomnia condition have both stopped. I still have stress in my life but "I'm almost back". Thanks Ultimate flora and thanks for the support Paxiled.
You can check with a pharmacist about the amoxicillin. Secondly, you can ask your physician for samples if possible or ask if she or he can enroll you in a free medication program so that you are able to get the medication to take.

I was told by a doctor I might have a chest infection so she put me on 500mg of amoxicillin three times a day. I'm also on diazepam for muscle spasms and anxiety. I cannot remember is she said it was ok go take them both together.
If ok to take together this will put my mind at rest and stop me panicing.
