I went to the dentist 3 days ago she said there is nothing they can do until i finish antibiotic treatment so she prescribed to me 875mg of amoxicillin + 125mg of clavulanate EVERY 8 HOURS. I pretty much been in extreme tooth pain and to add to that every time i take this i get pretty bad stomach pain i describe it as the empty feeling you have when you don't eat anything but x10, so i did some searching and i could not find anywhere saying 875mg every 8 hours i only saw every 12 hours.
He told me to wait to take another dose of amoxicillin until the day before the extraction. My jaw is currently hurting right below the lower left wisdom tooth. Does this mean the infection has returned from the first dose of amoxicillin and if so, am I still ok to wait until a week from tomorrow to have the tooth extracted? The reason I have to wait is because the oral surgeon is only in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I had important projects I have to get done at work before taking days off.

I ask this because I am getting tested within the next few days, not only to make sure than I am not infected, but to also make sure I did not then pass it on 10 days later. If the STD test this week comes back negative, that's great for me, but I would be worried that it might be because the 24 hours of amoxicillin in my system killed the bacteria.

Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. I have an infected tooth which has to be extracted in the next few days but as of now I was prescribed 250 mg of Amoxicillin and have to take it 3 times a day. Since Wednesday I have taken seven doses and for the last few hours I've been experiencing and odd feeling in my mouth/on my tongue. I guess I'd say there's a slightly warm and numb feeling on my tongue. I wouldnt say it feels like a film is on my tongue, but maybe dry mouth? It's hard to describe.

Both say should not be taken in cases of liver problems. I am taking only half the dose he prescribed of the pain medication, and will stop it as soon as the pain stops. I have been repeatedly prescribed amoxicillin to fight a bacterial infection. I had difficulty figuring out that I was having an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin because many of the symptoms (abdominal pain and swollen glands) were similar to the original infection and the more classis symptoms (tching and hives) didn't appear until after I had finished my third prescription.

But a short time after, I started breaking out all over again. They come and they go. I don’t exactly understand the recurring sores, while on antibiotics. Shouldn’t it have been gone by now?
