Patient presented last week with pain and deep caries perforating the pulp, proceeded to Rct, cleaned and shaped the canal, upper 5, and placed calcium hydroxide for 7 days. She was also on an antibiotic course (amoxicillin/clavulanic acid). She came with no signs of infection so I proceeded to the final obturation and she rang me a day later saying she is in pain and swollen..is this an indicator of re-treatment?
I have had diarrhea for 13 months 2-4 times a day after having a cold with sinus infection. I was rx'd amoxicillin & a cough med to be taken for normal duration. A colonoscopy, endoscopy with biopsies are normal. One stool sample came back showing an excessive amount of calcium. I do not take calcium supplements or vitamins & none of my other meds contain calcium. The only milk I use is in 2 cups of morning coffee and an occassional glass of milk(maybe once a month).

This question is assuming a subject with non-impaired, fully-funcional parathyroid glands
Regarding low calcium intake, it is my understanding that with low blood calcium, the parathyroid glands will release PTH which will extract calcium from the bones to regulate the blood calcium level. If this statement is correct, then calcium intake and the release of PTH should have an inverse relationship.
So yesterday I went to the Dr for an ear infection and the Dr said it was pretty bad. He prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days. He said it was safe but I am scared. I have called and left a message for my drs assistant. Waiting for a call back. Have any of you had to take this in this dossage?

I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?
can you take amoxicillin if it exspired in january of 2009, i dont have insurance and had a few left over from my teeth and need to take them if i can. could someone please help me with this?

I was prescribed Amoxicillin a couple days ago for strep throat and an ear infection and when I opened the bottle to take it I noticed that it smelled bad. I don't know if it's normal or not so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was told by a doctor I might have a chest infection so she put me on 500mg of amoxicillin three times a day. I'm also on diazepam for muscle spasms and anxiety. I cannot remember is she said it was ok go take them both together.

I'm in the middle of being tested for thyroid problems, after having some sore areas in the front of my neck and being diagnosed in the ER with "anterior neck phlegmon" and treated with antibiotics and steroids. After two days, they were "puzzled" because the cat scan showed inflammation, but the thyroid ultrasound showed normal looking nodules nothing more.
After a sinus x-ray showed a problem resembling an osteoma, she has done a CAT scan and MRI scan, both came out negative. Then a doctor discovered she has low calcium, and indeed when she does a few injections of IV calcium the headaches disappear for about 2 months (dizziness stays), then they reappear but the calcium stays at low levels. She has now been found positive for toxoplasmosis and some small kidney stones. My toxoplasmosis test came out negative (should I repeat the test ?).
