Common Questions and Answers about Amoxicillin and tums

Avatar m tn If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono? Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage. I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst. Have any of you had Mono, been misdiagnosed with Strep and took Amoxicillin, and NOT get the rash?
Avatar n tn Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD. My question is, can you tell me what if any STD the Amoxicillin would cure if I did contract one from my friend?
Avatar f tn There is no connection between amoxicillin and Hepatitis C. Sorry you relapsed. What treatment were you on?
17213106 tn?1456525991 ve personally taken all three and never suffered any side effects at all, and I managed health foods stores for 18 years and never heard of anyone reporting any side effects. Manukka honey is just another form of honey -- bees pollinating a particular plant that happens to produce a unique antibiotic other honeys don't have. DGL is just a form of common licorice, with the part taken out responsible for most of the side effects commonly reported from licorice (mostly high blood pressure).
Avatar f tn This is my third pregnancy and I always get brutal heart burn and acid reflux and have tried everything and nothing has worked well other than this. This works much better than baking soda in water and the taste is much easier to get used to! I have read that it has to be this brand because it is natural and organic and such, you need to get it from a health food or natural food store. Other kinds might work just as well but I didn't want to risk getting something that didn't work.
Avatar f tn My doc told me to take Zantac once before bed and once when I wake up and to take tums with calcium in between. I also find that drinking a lil bit of sprite helps because it makes me burp and it relieves a lot of the burning and uncomfortable pain.
4111382 tn?1356207828 My SIL also said Maalox, the liquid kind, works really, really well, maybe try that instead of tums? It's OTC and safe to take while pregnant, I think it lasts longer, too. Did tums work for you? They didn't work for me at all.
Avatar f tn I also take pepcid for heartburn, way better than eating chalk and it works like a dream! Call your doctor and double check to make sure it's fine for you to start taking it!
Avatar f tn I found peppermint gum/mints helped sooo much better and had a longer lasting effect. Actually nothing helped me but that and small snacks.
Avatar f tn ve had the morning sickness and heartburn the whole pregnancy. But its gotten so much worse now and idk why.
4220225 tn?1360685122 I'm taking tums for calcium. I take two/day now. I'm thinking of doing two twice a day since I'm not getting much in my diet. Is anyone else taking tums for calcium and how many?
9781131 tn?1406079407 So Im a FTM 37 weeks 4days & have terrible heartburn is it okay for me to eat tums?
8593574 tn?1398970803 What tums do you ladies recommend?
Avatar f tn Tums and i are best friends lol. Doc always said it's just an extra dose of calcium!!
Avatar f tn 18 weeks pregannt. Am I aloud to take tums ?
Avatar n tn I am trying to get my daughter to take Amoxicillin for a throat infection. She won't swallow the capsule. Is it ok to break the pink and blue A45 Amoxicillin capsule in half and mix it in applesauce?
Avatar f tn This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth. Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary. If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.
