After examining this sore the doctor said it was most likely herpes, they did a swab test and gave me pills and a shot for other STIs just in case. The swab test (and a very comprehensive test for every other STI) came back as negative. A couple of weeks later I went back and did a blood test for herpes, also negative. The sore eventually healed and my UTI eventually cleared up after a month and a half of having it.
Going through these forums I find that it is highly unlikely for me to contract chlamydia , but syphilis, gonorrhea and herpes is a possibility. How common is herpes transmission from oral to genital ?.
I apologize if this question was answered . My search didn't yield any good answers hence posting this question .

I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Niacin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin.
I have had no sores that crusted or anything that looks like a typical herpes outbreak. I went to a dr told and have a full STD tests ran, results should be back Wednesday. The doctor herself also said that she highly doubt its herpes but better safe than sorry. I wanted to know if others have seen anything like small reddish/white bumps scattered over the inside of the mouth and it be herpes. I have no sore throat, no pain at all. Just the bumps. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the being the angel of this forum. My problem is that I really lacked the basic education about many STDs. Until a year ago, an incurable STD meant HIV. Herpes was a foreign topic to me.
I did a lot of research in this forum and I kinda learned from your posts and those of Dr. HHH. I noticed that sore throat are common symptoms during the initial outbreak which explains the symptoms I had a year ago. Also, my symptoms now are even stronger than before.
He woke up one morning and I could barely see his teeth..Gums were swollen and bleeding.. I took him to the emergency room and they said it may be a reaction to a viral infection and prescribed amoxicillian for 10 days...It has been 6 days and still they are bleeding...What is wrong? He is too young for gum disease, right?
i do have herpes and had a break out recently and i'm taking a daily suppressant also was given amoxicillin for swollen glands now i have broken out with some little tiny blisters with a black dot on top very tiny but very itchy and only on my hands and a few near outer elbow. what is it ? is it the herpes on my hands or is it a yeast break out on my hands . they itch and burn the blisters are sparatic a couple on palms a few on my fingers and then a few outer elbow. ?????

A couple of days after the occurance my friend (in medical school) gave me 3 Amoxicillin pills of 500mg. I took two one day and then another day took one. At about a week after exposure,, my friend gave me more of the same Amoxicillin 500mg pills. I took them every 8 hours until I ran out. I had 7 pills.
I am really worried about Stds. What was my risk from the exposure? Also, did the Amoxicilin do anything if I indeed had acquired an STD from that exposure? Am I at risk of HIV?
I was on amoxicillin for a few months for a dental abscess. This was around 7 months ago. Since then, my lower lip on the right side has been swollen. My checks also swell sometimes on the inside. This has been going on and off for around 6 months. The lip swelling goes down but never really goes away completely. The cheek swelling is the same as it comes and goes but is always somewhat puffy and swollen still. No real pain, just annoying.
protected oral sex is always in your best interest. hpv, sphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and herpes are the risks from oral sex - none of those are effectively treated with amoxicillin so you are wasting your time and risking your health by doing what you have asked about.

About five days ago I had oral surgery for wisdom teeth removal and my doctor put me on Amoxicillin for a week.
It's been five days since I've taken the drugs and still have two days left. Today I noticed small sores and red spots underneath my foreskin, just below the head of my penis. It itches and is somewhat painful. My last sexual exposure was frottage with a girl, no penetration, more than four weeks ago (31 days).
chlamydia is not and without an obvious sore or lesion on your partner’s mouth, the chances of syphilis and herpes is likewise tiny. If you had gotten gonorrhea or NGU you will most likely develop symptoms of urethritis (penile infection) such a penile discharge within a few days of the exposure. Even if your partner had an STD (any STD and it is likely she did not), most exposures do not lead to infection.
i hope this is not ars so i went to nose and neck specialist and prescribed for amoxicillin 750 mg which i had today and ferlling better now. today morning i had small rounded herpes on my lips as well as on my back sides of neck and chest after 25 days of exposure. so i am worried about this red small herpes.

Receiving unprotected oral sex is lower risk than unprotected vaginal or anal sex.
You can get gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and genital herpes type 1 (if you don't already have oral herpes type 1.
Syphilis is uncommon in most developed countries. I wouldn't worry much about that. You can test for that at 6 weeks if you feel the need to.
You can test for hsv1 if you want, but the hsv1 IgG blood test is unreliable and misses 30% of infections.
If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono?
Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage.
I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst.
Have any of you had Mono, been misdiagnosed with Strep and took Amoxicillin, and NOT get the rash?
There is no connection between amoxicillin and Hepatitis C. Sorry you relapsed. What treatment were you on?

I'm a 29 year old male, and I received unprotected oral sex about 2 1/2 weeks ago from someone I didn't know. I then had unprotected vaginal sex with another partner about 10 days later with no ejaculation. A few days later I developed head congestion and mild throat symptoms along with slight, intermittent throbbing in one testicle. No burning, itching, or discharge. I have also had what I assume is a varicocele for most of my life, but it has never given me any problems.
First off, you shouldn't even medicate yourself for you may not know whether or not you actually contracted a std. You don't know if you are treating for the right std too. There has to be a certain measure of medication and type of medicine in order to help you get better if you happen to have a std. Second, unprotected oral is low risk but certainly not a no risk situation. You may get gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes. HIV has not been known to be contracted through oral sex.
I was veey drunk 12 days ago and received unprotected oral. freaked out. had 6g of amoxicillin as I thought I'd caught gonorrhea and a dose of azithromycin too. still freaking out! am I being paranoid.
I am trying to get my daughter to take Amoxicillin for a throat infection. She won't swallow the capsule. Is it ok to break the pink and blue A45 Amoxicillin capsule in half and mix it in applesauce?
This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth.
Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary.
If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.
