Amoxicillin and heartburn

Common Questions and Answers about Amoxicillin and heartburn

666921 tn?1254994218 I do know that the LLMD prescribed me Kapidex and it may one of the reasons I am not having heartburn. Usually these medicines give me bad gastric problems, but so far it's been not great, but not painful either. You may want to ask if you can get Kapidex.
Avatar f tn However I recently had a sinus infection and took Amoxicillin for 7 days. Here it is, 2 weeks after stopping the Amoxicillin, I am having severe heartburn again. Did the antibiotic have anything to do with this?
Avatar m tn I was given anti-biotics, amoxicillin and clarithromycin for 14 days and also omeprazole for a month. After I finished my medication, I again have the same problem, a very bad one. Is it still bacteria or I have some other problem? I have no symptoms of ulcer, I have already taken anti-biotics, but my problem doesn't seem to go. I am really worried. Should I continue taking omperazole?

Avatar n tn has given up on me in the heartburn condition. But I am still having severe heartburn and not sure what to do. Please someone help me to know what to do. Thank you and God Bless you.
Avatar f tn I was sick for Two weeks before diagnosed . One evening I got horrible heartburn and now again last night after eating a few crackers. I am on my 6 th day of the prev Pac. I have gained most of my appetite back and the growling and gnawing is gone. I noticed a few months back that I was having pain in the center of my back and radiating to my upper shoulders mainly on the right side. To my surprise I was having this pain last evening before the heartburn started.
Avatar f tn sometimes its so bad i almost trow up. havent thrown up though. i went to an immediate care place and they just gave me amoxicillin, cough suppressant, and an inhaler. the inhaler works when i cant breathe. but its all sparked by the cough. it really freaks me out when i cant breathe. please if you have any idea what this could be. i am 19 years old and pretty healthy, except im anemic.
Avatar m tn This cured the infection, but now when i get heartburn or burp, my scalp and especially my ears really burn. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how do i cure it. I have been to the doctors who performed blood test that were fine on 2 occassions. An ear nose and throat specialist could also find no problem. I don't feel ill, but i don't like it. Please help.....
Avatar f tn So, she prescribed to me another antibiotic, Augmentin (that is the generic name for Amoxicillin and something else). She told me to get Mucinex D, which you can only get by asking the pharmacist and to get Delsym cough syrup. I thought, ok, here we go again. So I went home and took all that and in about four hours the rattle had gone WAY down and you would not believe how much I was able to cough up! I finally was able to lay down in my bed and get 6 hours sleep.
Avatar f tn A couple months ago I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer. I took Amoxicillin and Biaxin for two weeks and Prevacid for 8 weeks. Several symptoms of the ulcer went away after the courses of antibiotics; bloating, severe gas, intense gnawing hunger pangs, etc. However, I am still having horrible GERD symptoms, which I did not have before the ulcer. I burp up bile, have heartburn sometimes, I have a burning pain in my stomach and I feel hungry, constantly.
586636 tn?1223131279 Many times the infection is associated with heartburn and sudden reflux. Usually there is no fever or "illness." Now, I have had the "sudden reflux" and I concede that it is an "illness" but what I mean is that you don't often don't feel like you have the flu or anything, you just seem to relive your meals.... As for the infection causing palps, that's actually pretty common.
Avatar m tn Last year I had huge heartburn therefor I did an endoscopy+biopsy which found gastritis and H. pylori. I started the treatment for H. pylori using Amoxicillin/omeprazole/clarithromycin for 7 days. I had to stop it after 3 days due to huge diarrhea of over 9 times per day. Few months after I did another endoscopy and in addition to H. pylori and gastritis I have duodenitis. Right now I am under omeprazole for one month and I will start the H. pylori treatment again next week.
Avatar m tn I originally was getiing very bad heartburn and then one day i thought i was having a heart attack. Went to doctors was told it was acid reflux had an ecg was all fine. I took the 40mg omperazole once a day for a month and i was still gettin very bloated to the point were i could not catch my breath and was causing left shoulder pain. I had to wait 2 weeks for and endoscopy.
Avatar n tn Being overweight can worsen heartburn, and the loss of even a few pounds can help prevent heartburn. Raise the head of your bed 6 to 8 inches by putting blocks underneath your bed frame or placing a foam wedge under the head of your mattress. (Adding extra pillows does not work well.) Aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen sodium, and other anti-inflammatory drugs can cause heartburn. Try acetaminophen instead.
1140169 tn?1370188676 March 29, 2010-Diagnosis- MS Apprx 2004 to 2009 - very tired every day in the afternoons, especialy when driving, tried shaking my head and stopping and walking for a minute, and bladder issues (always looking for a place to urinate).
Avatar f tn Had an ultra sound that came back normal, and a barium swallow which showed mild reflux. I have been having nausea and a little heartburn for almost 4 months. Never at the same time.... and a lot of pain in my upper abdomen, and stomach. Another doctor treated me for h. pylori even though it came back neg. because I showed all the symptoms. I took Clarithromycin 1000mg and amoxicillin 2000mg a day for 10 days. Still no relief. Now it is hard to catch my breath.
Avatar m tn I have a history of heartburn. I noticed that my heartburn was getting worse, and there was a smell from my mouth I could not get rid of even by brushing teeth several times a day. My blood test showed a very high level of anti-body to H-Pylori (everything else was normal).
Avatar n tn Hi everyone, I have been having this problem for the last 4 years and still didn't find a solution for my problems. It started with ear pressure and my ears feel clogged and full all the time and I keep trying to pop them every day. I keep opening jaw and pushing through nose to try to keep them open but with no longterm success. This has been happening on a daily basis for the last for 4 years and it is really hard to live like this.
Avatar n tn i have been suffering from debilatating allergies/sinus probs, fatigue, and dizziness for about a year now. i do have allergies to mold, dust, milk products, and corn products. my allergy doc says my symptoms are all from allergies, but i have been trying everything 2 avoid the allergens, been getting allergy shots, tried numerous allergy medications, with no help from anything! does anyone else experience this type of thing? i seriously feel like i am getting so depressed.
Avatar n tn My complaints, the drainage seeming to lodge in my throat and offensive breath that nothing seemed to help, diagnosed as sinusitis (they say probably caused by unidentified allergies) and bronchitis. Over time I've been prescribed a nasal inhaler (Beconase) and an oral inhaler (Ventolin), both of which were eventually discontinued because they did not help and the nasal inhaler burned my nose and caused headaches.
Avatar m tn I have tried every kind of supplement with little relief, but oddly enough during a 3 month bout of dental problems I was given several doses of amoxicillin and while taking that, and for a few days afterwards, I had very few PVCs and felt much better. Unfortunately, the docs could not account for the relief I got from the amoxcillin and it's not a drug people tend to stay on for long periods so I am just having to learn to life with them.
Avatar f tn A few days prior to the incident, I had taken myself off of the pramipexole that I'd been on for a week, as I was having trouble swallowing (for which the amoxicillin and lanso were prescribed - possible sinus/throat infection or gastric reflux - doc and I wanted to attack on both fronts in order to avoid the return of the laryngospams I'd had during recent respiratory infection). Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help...
Avatar m tn The last time I got a fever / diarrhea, it was accompanied by a sore throat and a slight feeling of heartburn. And is it a coincidence that I got ringworm now? Ive never experienced ringworm my whole life! Am I being a hypochondriac? Should I re-do my tests? Each time I talk to a Doctor, they tell me they think that it is not an STD. Advise needed. Thanks! Ive been pretty stressed every day for the last 3 months.
Avatar n tn I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
Avatar m tn For a number of years I suffered from fixed drug eruptions that were finally diagnosed at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, Washington. I am extremely sensitive to penicillin and sulfa drugs. It was a great relief to know once and for all so I could avoid these medicines. But that didn't end my problems. What the doctors failed to warn me about was that there is enough penicillin in some commercial meat and dairy products to cause a reaction in some people.
Avatar n tn Surprisingly, not every patient with GERD has heartburn and not every patient with GERD has an abnormal upper GI series. You mentioned being treated with a variety of antihistamines and inhalers but never any medications used to treat GERD. You might want to ask your doctor about histamine receptor antagonists such as cimetidine (Tagamet) or ranitidine (Zantac).
Avatar n tn Over time I've been prescribed a nasal inhaler (Beconase) and an oral inhaler (Ventolin), both of which were eventually discontinued because they did not help and the nasal inhaler burned my nose and caused headaches. About 2 years ago I insisted (I have an HMO) on seeing an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who x-rayed my head and found sinus cavities all clear. He ordered an upper GI with barium swallow and that test found nothing. He suggested that perhaps I suffered from Globus....
535089 tn?1400677119 These are often prescribed for runners, sports injuries to joints, and those suffering from arthritis. Syva labs has recently reworked its Cannabinoid test and claims to have eliminated this problem. But a Science magazine article (July 8, 1988) lists Ibuprofen as cross reactive. Under the new government guidelines THC testing levels will be reduced to 50 nanograms. Many more THC false positives can be expected in 1994. Dristan Nasal Spray, Neosynephren, Vicks Nasal Spray, Sudafed, etc.
Avatar f tn So they put me on some medication that has taken away all the heartburn symptoms completly. But the ringing and crackling in my ears and vertigo are worse. The ringing in my ears gets so loud and is causing horrible headaches. And by the time the evening comes around the dizziness is so bad I litteraly can't walk. It feels like I have been spining really fast. It's hard to keep my head and eyes still when it gets bad. And because of that I have been feeling sick to my stomach.
Avatar n tn In the hospital, Cardiology did every test known to man, except the stress test with me on the treadmill. I'm takin Amoxicillin for the pneumonia now, and I've 3 more days of it. Then I must go in for the stress test. I just wanted an idea of what's next?! and according to the blogs, it looks like there'll be a heart cath. :( What do you think, Doc? I'd like to return to my unstressful job as a gardener at the local college.
