Additional meds have been added to treat this, Pred Forte and Prednisone taper (uveitis), Prilosec and various other pump blockers (gastritis), 20days amoxicillin (strep) 10 weeks on amoxicillin (bronchitis), singulair and dulera for asthma. These are just symptoms added to my daily BD symptoms of joint, connective tissue inflammation, various GI symptoms, extreme fatigue, memory and coordination difficulties, night sweats, ulcers, headaches and low grade fevers.

The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of of Amoxicillin (500 mg) every 12 hours but its supposed to be two pills (1g) every 12 hours, and I already finished the cycle. Now I am very concerned because I know that this bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. What should I do?, how long should I wait before I take another H. Pylori test?
Today, the standard triple therapy is amoxicillin, clarithromycin and a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole. At times, probiotics have been used.
A patient with gastritis, or peptic/duodenal ulcers may also have the presence of H-pylori.

The first day l was choked and l took a glass of water and it went of. The second day it happened again and again until a week. l went to the hospital and l was told that l have alot of acid and was given anti acid gel and omeprazle tablets for a month and was given a number of foods not to eat like no fizzy drinks, deep fried foods e.t.c. After a medical check up l was given some more tablets and anti acid gel again. There was still not very much improvement and l was given allergy treatment.
My guess is this bacteria has led to possible gastritis as the symptoms of both the H. pylori and gastritis are similar. Heartburn, bloating, excessive burping or flatulence, nervous indigestion and anxiety.
My question is this.....after the bacteria have left my body how soon does a "normal" digestive system get back on track? Shall I eat a special diet to replace what the antibiotics have depleted in me as well as the bacteria?
5 days to cure my Helicobacter and gastritis. I took the last pill ~40 hours ago, but still got this ... strange, foul smell, and it drives me nuts! I just woke at 4 AM with a sense that I lack oxygen in my brain, my pulse elevated to 100 BPM - guess my anxiety kicked in, but I think this foul smell made me wake up in the middle of the night (haven't had issues with anxiety for weeks now).
If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono?
Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage.
I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst.
Have any of you had Mono, been misdiagnosed with Strep and took Amoxicillin, and NOT get the rash?

I have no idea what is going on but ive been living in hell for a year now and have multiple symptoms. I had a scope done and was told I have atrophic gastritis which means the layers of the stomach lining have eroded, how? I dont know exactly. All I know is that my appetite has been shot and when I do eat I get really bad palpitations, not so much racing heart but more pounding heart which can be felt in my fingers, throat, head, chest, but, wrists, and sometimes even feet.
Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD.
My question is, can you tell me what if any STD the Amoxicillin would cure if I did contract one from my friend?

It is true that you are not suppose to use enzymes if a person has gastritis?
Reply: This is a little tricky. Yes, most places have a disclaimer saying that if you have gastrities, avoid the strong protease formulations. There are some enzyme products with low or no proteases that are for gastritis patients (like Gastro from Enzymedica).
I have had gastritis for a year. I have had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy, and was diagnosed with gastritis. I am on Nexium and Carafate. Nothing seems to help with the gastritis. I have suffered for so long that I am willing to try anything at this point that will help. I have heard that Mastic Gum works for this condition. Is it safe to take? I am a diabetic.
I am trying to get my daughter to take Amoxicillin for a throat infection. She won't swallow the capsule. Is it ok to break the pink and blue A45 Amoxicillin capsule in half and mix it in applesauce?
A few months into this, I had an endoscopy. In it, was revealed that I had gastritis and a peptic ulcer. I tested negative for h pylori. That GI specialist failed to acknowledge any connection between my sudden breathing issues, stomach pain and the endoscope findings. In hindsight, this assessment was astoundingly off base.
Anyway, every day I wake up I wish i hadn't. Dietary changes don't seem to make much of a difference.
This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth.
Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary.
If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.
Is strenuous exercise contraindicated when taking amoxicillin?Also, is sun exposure a factor, and if so, how long after you complete the round of antibiotics should you wait before you are able to go back out in the sun?

I typically take 2 grams of amoxicillin before all dental procedures (and some medical ones, too) due to Mitral Valve Prolapse with regurgition and a PFO in the heart.

My disease story is as follow: twelve years ago, I suffered from stomach pain, all the doctors I met was advising me to take Lansoprazole, or Amprazole, or Rantadine. No one of these medications helped me but my situation went worse with vomiting and severe pain and loss in weight.

My mouth was extremely dry and irritated and white tongue and white near my tonsils. on 12/10/13 i returned to the ER and he prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate MG and Clotrinazole Troche 10 MG. my head ache, fatigue is gone. I m 27 years old male. 3 weeks before I had sex with one unknown guy without condom. Now I found a painless sore on my penis shaft ( inside of foreskin ).
When I consulted a doctor she prescribed to take 3 Amoxicillin (500mg) per day for 5 days and a cream to apply on the sore but I didn't tell her that I had sex with a guy.
5 days not yet completed.This is 3rd day but I feel sore is getting dry now.

5 weeks after treatment I was still having symptoms so I had an endoscopy and biopsy of my stomach showed moderate chronic gastritis in the antrum and that was all. Biopsy of my small intestine was normal. I feel like I have an upset stomach almost all the time and right after I eat my stomach feels upset, like what I'm eating isn't agreeing with me. This happens no matter what I eat. But then about 1.5-2 hours after I eat I start feeling kind of nauseous.
