Avatar m tn My most recent Primary Doc just switched me to Metoprolol Tarta 25mg and off of the Amlodipine to see if that was the cause of the Vertigo, sadly the symptoms are still there. I've seen the: ENT Doctor & Dizzy Specialist - All clear Neurologist - All clear (no MRI performed) Eye Doctor - 20/20 vision 3 Different Primary Doctors - Nothing stands out I'm at a loss at what else I can do to help cure these symptoms... any suggestions would be helpful.
Avatar n tn I have been working hard on my health and diet and just got clearance last week to stop taking the last of my meds. I took Lisinopril, Amlodipine, and Metoprolol. I was weaned off them all. I am now med free. Yay! Curious if anyone truly saw weight loss after stopping beta blockers.
Avatar n tn Are you aware about the combination Valsartan and Amlodipine to treat hypertension in high risk patients? How its is better than Telmisarton and Amlodipine combination?
Avatar f tn 5 mg of Metoprolol and 10 mg Amlodipine for about 3 months. I have COPD and something was aggravating my breathing problems. I went to the doctor yesterday and he took me off the Metoprolol and put me on 100 mg of Losartan. He told me to just stop taking the Metoprolol. I questioned starting off with such a high dose of Losartan. I seem to be very sensitive to these medications and felt starting right off with 100 mg was a bit high.
Avatar f tn e to take Amlodipine and Metoprolol, all day my HBP is good but for some reason at the moment my high blood goes up and down, but I notice it goes up every time I feel like I need to throw up. So, I'm not sure what's going on, I just recently started to feel the nausea feeling lately.
Avatar m tn Since my blood pressure was not remaining normal quite often during last 18 months in spite of the medication, the medicine for hypertension has now been changed: Olmesartan 40 mg, Metoprolol Succinate 12.5 mg, Chlorthalidone 6.25 mg & Amlodipine 2.5 mg. I am to continue Eltroxin & Zyloric. Seeking your valuable suggestion.
Avatar f tn Metoprolol worked great for me used to have a heart rate of 117 sitting and 145 doing any minor task. Now my resting heart rate is 50 and doing minor tasks it is 70. Lowered my blood pressure to 110/70. it is now the only blood pressure medicine I take.
Avatar f tn Hi. I started wellbutrin xl 150 mg a few months ago after having tachycardia chest tightness and panic. Upped it to 300 mg after a few weeks. I also have clorazepate (tranxene) 7.5 mg for when needed. Then after having tachycardia still I started metoprolol 25 mg (which I cut in half) to help with daily anxiety and lower my heart rate. It has definitely lowered my heart rate but I still don't feel right. Still have an uneasy feeling and tightness in my chest.
Avatar f tn I am on Amlodipine and Metoprolol. Prior to starting this I was doing well on an 1100 calorie very low carb diet and I also hit the gym for 2 hours a day. I have not lost any weight in over three weeks. I would like to do a trial of not taking the b/p meds. I think the only reason my b/p went up was because I had gained 40 pounds. I have a home cuff and will monitor myself and lucky for me when my pressure goes up I get a headache.
Avatar m tn I have suffered with taking diltiazem(180 mg ER) AND metoprolol (50 mg ER) for atril fibrillation for the past two and a half years. The side effects have been debilitating.. Both drugs have the same side effects and together and one or the other or both create what I can only describe as chaotic turbulence in my chest and pain in my left arm when the second drug kicks in.. My cardiolgist now wants me to add a blood thinner (xarelto) to my meds menu.
Avatar m tn IS THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS TAKING COMBINATION OF TELMISARTAN &AMLODIPINE FOR LONG TIME
Avatar n tn I've been taking amlodipine besylate (norvasc) for about 1 and a half months. For the last couple of weeks I've been experiencing very strong anxieties, panic attacks, and a totally sleepless night. I'd been on testim for years now as well and wonder if either one or a combination can be causing them.
Avatar f tn Since the birth of the babies, I was on amlodipine with good pressure regulation but began to experience skipped heart beats about 1 year post partum. Doc switched me to metoprolol and a holter done with occasional pvcs and pacs. Echo was normal. I still experience occasional skipped beats especially when stressed or just dancing with the kids. This would not bother me too much but the chest pain radiating to my left arm after the skipped beats scares me. This can last for quite a few hours.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
Avatar f tn Also, adding another long-acting BP medication such as amlodipine might be helpful if HR is ideal but BP still too high. Lastly, have your doctors tried long-acting metoprolol and/or diltiazem for more stable HR/BP effect?
Avatar f tn If you are not responding to lisnopril and metoprolol is causing side effects then other beta blockers can be tried or you can be given diltiazem or verapamil. Heart ECHO, holter, or stress ECHO etc should be done. You should also get your blood cholesterol, lipid, triglyceride, blood sugar and thyroid levels checked. Please discuss this with your cardiologist. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn The side effects of Prozac seem like they would enhance the side effects that I am having from metoprolol. Have any of you taken this combination or similar and ultimately did you feel it was worth it? I just know I can't continue on like I am feeling now.
Avatar f tn I'm 33 years old and prescibed Metoprolol for my heart palpitations, which happens everytime I eat food. After all cardiac tests came back normal, she mentioned that it may be stress related. I'm now being prescribed 20 mg Celexa for aniexty. I only take 6.25 mg of Metoprolol, cutting it into quarters, but are scared to take the two in combination. There are so many warnings about not mixing them. My heart rate has slowed down with the Celexa, but I still get the pounding sensation.
Avatar n tn I had a heart attack last year and am on beta blockers, ace inhibitors, clopidogrel and also thyroxine tablets for underactive thyroid. My bp has now stabilised and is between 98/49 -145/68. My pulse rate however, seems to only flucutate between the high 50s to as low as 43. Is this normal. I am 67 years old and overweight which I don't seem to be able to lose.
Avatar n tn After the angiogram, my cardiologist put me on Amlodipine besylate (0.25 mg) and Metoprolol Succ ER (50 mg). My pulmonary specialist has ordered tests to verify that the beta blocker is not effecting my breathing. I am still somewhat perplexed by your answer. I must be missing something as far as the test data correlation with mortality.
