t seem to fine anywhere how long after a lethal amount or a small overdose (such as 1 accidental extra dose) on top of toxicity symptoms would start to show or when death would take place. So my question is when would symptoms begin to show and when would death occur. I don't need exact times but if toxicity showed hours after an over dose and death came days after it would give me a timeline which is all I'm looking for. Thank you.

I don't know about an overdose, but taking more than you are supposed to can cause sleep walking, but in my case it was sleep driving. It is very dangerous and you should not play around with it. I HATE AMBIEN!!!

It doesn't produce "immediate lethal effects". It will be slow and you will fall asleep. There's another word for what you did. It's called an overdose. If you really took that much Ibuprofen and Benadryl, and I assume you did, you need to call an ambulance.

I took tablets vepridone and ambien 2 months ago, doctors saved my life but now I am having shaky hands, I can't write and I feel extremely uncomfortable all the time. My question is, Is it due to drug withdrawl or it can get permanent side affect. What should I do now? Doctors also gave resperidone and a sleeping tablet for 2 weeks after treatment I was fine while I was using these tablets.

I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.

Been on Ambien (or stilnox as it's known here) for nearly 7 years, I'm up to 100-120 mg a day, since end of last year been waking up in jolts of panic, shaking thru the day with butterflies. The steroids and benzos can be lethal. If he is over drugged like you are saying, he could easily forget what he has taken and take some more causing an overdose. Before worrying about staying young for his daughter , he should try to stay alive and what he is doing put his life on jeopardy.

I have a friend who has been sporadically abusing ambien and fioricet (not at the same time.) Hi and I too am sorry your husband went through such an ordeal, and you too. The amount of pain medication he received was high but be assured the Dr's will NOT give a dose that is lethal no matter how high the pain threshold is. A Lot of Pt's particularly cancer Pt's suffer because the body can only handle a certain amount of narcotics because it will cause trouble breathing and other complications.

They go to sleep, but then wake and do silly/stupid stuff. They have no recollection of this after they awaken. One case went so far as to claim a homicide that the defendant had no memory of. That one did not work. A tolerance and dependance will develop with the zanax if used for a great length of time.

Narcan counteracts the lethal effect of a drug when you are in overdose, I do not think it would help withdrawals, it would put you into withdrawals...

when I got klonopin ( several years ago) it was supposed to be for sleep..only!! not during the daytime...!! & I didnt like it...it gave me nightmares...I had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia....which is apparently something to do with a failure of the central nervous system.....& Ive never been a good sleeper...so the Dr gave me the Klonopin, & after about a month...I switched to Ambien....so far ...so good.....I probably am addicted to it..but who cares...

Hello, I just added up the tylenol I took today with the vicodin and it's 5,000mg. I've very scared that I'm going to overdose. I know it's way too much. She had apparently had a couple of glasses of wine, then unable to sleep, took a xanax, possibly two. Then later, still unable to sleep, she took ambien, followed later by another one. None of these alone would normally be lethal, but the combination, mixed with the alcohol, proved to be the cause of an accidental overdose. She was taken to the ER the following morning unresponsive. This was not a suicide. Summer was not suicidal.

i would like to know if 20 milligrams of xanax would be an overdose? not for me my sister in law took it. plus other meds from here doctor and pot .how dose one still be alert and breathing?
