I don't know about an overdose, but taking more than you are supposed to can cause sleep walking, but in my case it was sleep driving. It is very dangerous and you should not play around with it. I HATE AMBIEN!!!

I took tablets vepridone and ambien 2 months ago, doctors saved my life but now I am having shaky hands, I can't write and I feel extremely uncomfortable all the time. My question is, Is it due to drug withdrawl or it can get permanent side affect. What should I do now? Doctors also gave resperidone and a sleeping tablet for 2 weeks after treatment I was fine while I was using these tablets.

I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.

Is the only risk with taking say half an ambien tab (5 mg) after having a glass of wine, increased drowsiness? I read some reviews that say taking ambien with alcohol can be fatal; would this be for large doses or volumes of alcohol?

Ok I'll be as brief as possible. Been on Ambien (or stilnox as it's known here) for nearly 7 years, I'm up to 100-120 mg a day, since end of last year been waking up in jolts of panic, shaking thru the day with butterflies. Can't eat hardly, feel sick all the time. Last august was in and out of the ER and had tests done for gastric upset all tests were normal then I found out ambien can cause gastric upset.

Last month I took soma and about 30min to an hour later took ambien. I ended up in the hospital for an accidental overdose because I stopped breathing due to the combination of medications. both meds are CNSD's Central nervous System Depressants. I had the same doctor who wrote my prescriptions and the same pharmacy that filled both and neither one told me about the possible risks.

Hello all. i hope i am posting this in the right place. I just joined this site. I have been battling with vicodin addiction for probably close to 3 years now. Sometimes it's not as severe as other times, but I must say what I'm going thru now is one of the more severe times. I average out at about 20, sometimes 30, 7.5 or 10's (not sure of the apap) daily...I drink heavely and also take xanax and ambien for sleep.

If he's just taking hydrocodone, and not mixing with other drugs or alcohol, it would take alot to overdose. Especially if he has a tolerance. I would say its more likely he would need to go to the hospital for APAP toxicity than hydrocodone overdose. APAP (tylenol) is mixed with the hydrocodone and is not good for the liver in high doses. Just tell him not to go crazy and make sure he doesn't mix with alcohol or other drugs (besides weed), and he should remain alive.

I couldnt sleep last night and took an ambien for the first time in awhile and I have to say those are bad pills. I always thought they were okay for me but I made the mistake of taking one and not going to bed right away and I have no recollection of what I did for the last half hour before bed. I hope this is a real wake up call for you cuz you are lucky you woke up. We have a fantastic alcohol forum here too. I would really recommend you checking that out along with some sort of aftercare. You say you are a heavy drinker already and you are young. There is a life out here that is fulfilling that doesnt require any type of substance abuse. Please get real honest with yourself, you got real lucky....this time.

not enough to even worry about right now, though. Ambien is of course a new sleep aid and the jury is still out. People have amnesia on ambien. They go to sleep, but then wake and do silly/stupid stuff. They have no recollection of this after they awaken. One case went so far as to claim a homicide that the defendant had no memory of. That one did not work. A tolerance and dependance will develop with the zanax if used for a great length of time.

I just tok 700 mg of soma 10mg of ambien and .5 mg of xanax at the same time. ..is this ok?

I've looked up a lot about ambien during pregnancy and I haven't found anything saying you shouldn't take it or that it'll harm the baby. Has anyone spoken to their doctor about ambien? I've had ambien prescription for years and it's really hard for me to sleep. No I'm not addicted, I used to take it only once or twice a week. It wasn't an every day thing. But it gets sooooo hard for me to sleep some nights so I'm wondering if it's safe.

ambien ccan cause black outs..expecially when mixed with alcohol...it is a sleeping med so if u take it and stay awake..

when I got klonopin ( several years ago) it was supposed to be for sleep..only!! not during the daytime...!! & I didnt like it...it gave me nightmares...I had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia....which is apparently something to do with a failure of the central nervous system.....& Ive never been a good sleeper...so the Dr gave me the Klonopin, & after about a month...I switched to Ambien....so far ...so good.....I probably am addicted to it..but who cares...

Pot is the only thing u cant overdose and die on out of what u listed(u can overdose on too many of any pill and alcohol can be deadly as well).U stated the family member was taking pain meds too.Yes all those meds and presciption pain killers also topped off with alcohol can cause death.
