Common Questions and Answers about Ambien overdose emedicine

ambien

Avatar n tn I don't know about an overdose, but taking more than you are supposed to can cause sleep walking, but in my case it was sleep driving. It is very dangerous and you should not play around with it. I HATE AMBIEN!!!
Avatar m tn I took tablets vepridone and ambien 2 months ago, doctors saved my life but now I am having shaky hands, I can't write and I feel extremely uncomfortable all the time. My question is, Is it due to drug withdrawl or it can get permanent side affect. What should I do now? Doctors also gave resperidone and a sleeping tablet for 2 weeks after treatment I was fine while I was using these tablets.
763205 tn?1234422576 I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.
486647 tn?1208785691 Ok I'll be as brief as possible. Been on Ambien (or stilnox as it's known here) for nearly 7 years, I'm up to 100-120 mg a day, since end of last year been waking up in jolts of panic, shaking thru the day with butterflies. Can't eat hardly, feel sick all the time. Last august was in and out of the ER and had tests done for gastric upset all tests were normal then I found out ambien can cause gastric upset.
Avatar f tn Last month I took soma and about 30min to an hour later took ambien. I ended up in the hospital for an accidental overdose because I stopped breathing due to the combination of medications. both meds are CNSD's Central nervous System Depressants. I had the same doctor who wrote my prescriptions and the same pharmacy that filled both and neither one told me about the possible risks.
Avatar n tn and he writes for Vicodin, and i used to take Ambien and I am no longer allowed to. But i recently had a spinal fusion, and i was left without my medication for day then week to week after the surgery , insurance, or not getting hold of the doctors, or they called into the wrong pharmacy. ( It was a nightmare ) So a friend im me hour of need help me sleep though some of the pain with Ambien.
Avatar n tn not enough to even worry about right now, though. Ambien is of course a new sleep aid and the jury is still out. People have amnesia on ambien. They go to sleep, but then wake and do silly/stupid stuff. They have no recollection of this after they awaken. One case went so far as to claim a homicide that the defendant had no memory of. That one did not work. A tolerance and dependance will develop with the zanax if used for a great length of time.
Avatar f tn I just tok 700 mg of soma 10mg of ambien and .5 mg of xanax at the same time. ..is this ok?
Avatar f tn when I got klonopin ( several years ago) it was supposed to be for sleep..only!! not during the daytime...!! & I didnt like it...it gave me nightmares...I had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia....which is apparently something to do with a failure of the central nervous system.....& Ive never been a good sleeper...so the Dr gave me the Klonopin, & after about a month...I switched to Ambien....so far ...so good.....I probably am addicted to it..but who cares...
Avatar f tn Thanks for the reply. It's not me that's using, it's my spouse. I'm just really concerned.
86075 tn?1238115091 Okay, I know I am an old fogy but I don't know who he is? Back in the day the prescribed narcotics for sleep, these days ambien etc. How can one overdose on these new drugs? Perhaps they can, I don't know that much about OD on ambien, lunesta etc. On another point about depression. I have situational depression. have for years. When I started tx I was told I had to start one again. I am glad I did as the depression has killed many of our fellow heppers on tx.
Avatar n tn Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. A tramadol overdose can be fatal. Overdose symptoms of a tramadol overdose may include drowsiness, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, extreme weakness, cold or clammy skin, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma. Tramadol may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for.
Avatar m tn Reason is that with so many fractures, it really becomes difficult to manage the pain. And you sould be careful about the drug overdose. By the way what medicines are you on and are you planing to get your bones fixed?
Avatar f tn I understand about your concern about going to your Dr., but there is something called a "Dr./Patient Privacy Act." However I'm not sure how it applies if your still under age. However, if she is the one prescribing for you I think you should still talk to her. Addiction is a Family Problem, and I don't know your parents, but I have a teenage daughter, and if she were going through something like this I would want to know so I could help her, not belittle her.
Avatar f tn d be just as worried about mixing the medications and the possibility of an accidental overdose. Good luck and GOD bless.
Avatar m tn If it is arteritic then large doses of oral cortison are needed to get the sed rate down. The section on emedicine is especially good. If its non-arteritic there is no treatment for the eye problem and visual recovery is usually good. Again emedicine entry is excellent.
491910 tn?1209366193 then 30...and so on until its 5 then jump off. I have ambien, rozerem scripts myself but stopped the ambien and made it a once a week or less thing because it can be bad news. You might want to see if the Dr will switch you to say lunesta and see if you can use that while getting off ambien or when you tapered low enough to jump and switch. Good luck.
Avatar m tn s a very complicated disease and not easy to describe. I suggest you do internet search on WebMD or emedicine and see if you have any further questions. Starbursts are not a common symptoms in AZOOR and more suggestive of cataracts, cornea problems, need for glasses or new glasses RX or macular problems.
Avatar f tn let me know what you did about ambien withdraw please . I have been taking Ambien nightly for 6 years and worried if I stopped i will get massive night terrors . Wish the best to you and Detox would be the best best for you !
Avatar f tn the doctor told me when i feel these attacks coming on to take 50-75 mg in order to calm me down but isnt there some danger in here because i also have to take the same amount at bedtime. isnt this an overdose????? i havent started the medication yet but can any of u give me some insight. i also have these attacks everyday how can i control that??? PS hes the type of therapist that would prescribe anything just so he can have time to himself or go home early - i cant connect with him.
Avatar f tn Ambien is a drug that is almost impossible to overdose on. I once took a whole Rx, blacked out but came to walking 3 hours later. You say you used to be hooked on dope like pills and methadone? You really shouldn't be taking ambien. I once took some and then went and got some real dope. I'm just telling you my experience.
Avatar f tn My 34yr old husband is addicted to percocet and ambien. I need advice on how to support him and get him the help he needs. Although he has admitted the issue, he mainly lives in a denial stage. He calls it dependence and continues to think he can control it. I have worked with him to quit nine times and have tried numerous attempts with very involved support from his family, and mulitple meetings with his doctor to wean him off (not alot of help from doc).
