Common Questions and Answers about Allegra and eczema

allegra

Avatar f tn It is very, very much appreciated and I will be getting some calamine lotion today to see if it helps. She has been taking benadryl and allegra along with her coderm and hydrocortisone. Is there a specific calamine lotion that you would recommend?
Avatar n tn I always wondered why I could remove everything from my diet and didnt use perfumes and still get acne and nothing took it away. That was why. My allergist and dermatologist told me to go 3 days without allergy med, then when I went in I was itchy and she saw my scars and recognised what I had. She told me she had it too and only about 5% of the population has it.
7639611 tn?1392877261 I am a 27-year-old woman and this is my first winter in Colorado, I moved here from New York. I have a long history of asthma and allergies, particularly to pollen, dust mites, and pet dander. My asthma is controlled with Flovent. In the past, I haven't even needed Flovent but use it now because I live with a year and a half-old cat. (I've lived with this cat their whole life.
Avatar f tn I have had puffy, swollen eyelids for months-ever since the day after my gallbladder surgery months ago. I have tried to go weeks without makeup (it only got worse), I've cut out all sorts of foods in case it was an allergy, I'm taking allergy medication (Reactin, Allegra) and started also trying Benedryl. I've changed my detergent for laundry, soaps, hair products-everything.
Avatar f tn My Dr told me I can continue to take my allegra. And im now 24 weeks and my little man is just fine.
Avatar f tn on constant application the skin returns to normal. this year after prolonged eczema, i was prescribed halox ointment and allegra tablets. but wen i visited the doctor i did not mention abt the slight itching in my genitals at that time coz it wasnt really major at that point of time. i tend to itch during my sleep and finally decided to apply the ointment in that labia and inner thigh. although i havent been very regular with my application. my thighs have a discoloration and redness.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.

Avatar n tn I have tried 4x dosage of Allegra (as per head of big NYC hospital dermatology department) a day to no avail. The symptoms are progressively getting worse. Its been diagnosed as part of my psoriasis, eczema, and cholengenic uticaria. What once was a one day recovery period of itching incessantly is now more like 3 days to a week. It is making exercising unfathomable. I have run out of answers. Looking for direction...
Avatar n tn My oldest son is on Risperdal,as well as three other meds. He has done quite well with Allegra for seasonal allergies, and even better with Zyrtec. Zyrtec is OTC but allegra is not. Both are well tolerated with Risperdal. Benaadryl is not good with Risperdal. My son, age 17, is zonked out when he takes both. He basically is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the morning (until about 12 hours later) the few times he has taken it. Not good at all.
578950 tn?1217771704 You may have to use some oral and local anti fungal medication as prescribed by your doctor on physical examination and interview. It is important that you take the utmost care of the lesion and try and not itch of remove the skin from the sides. Also proper hygiene may be important in this cases. Let me know if you need any more information/help.
453255 tn?1205792176 Yes, the medications I take for my allergies and asthma daily are: allegra (24 hour), singulair, alvesco, oxeeze, rhinocort, sometimes ventolin, and sometimes benedril.
Avatar f tn The doctor said it was shingles and prescribed Allegra (for the itching) and Valtrex (to get rid of the rash). It did not really help or do anything. The rash comes and goes. Some days it is red and not very puffy. Other days it's not red, but it's bumpy. It has been "wet" from scratching "open" the blisters. It really is bothersome. The photo below is what it looks like today, but like I said, it varies. Any ideas??
Avatar f tn s when I decided to try the Allegra for the Paxil, problem. Just to let you know, I ended up taking 1/2 of an Allegra and the symptoms went away again. I woke up this morning feeling fine. The zaps usually start late in the day and are not bad. Just to reassure everyone....I have a doctor appointment Monday morning at 9am!!! I will not, however, take another Paxil! Thanks for all you help and input..
Avatar m tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar f tn Yea, the possible reasons for my itch is so many that I have to fish it out by trial and error and its so frustrating and scary at the same time. But the weird thing is all along I've been using the same old things - from shower gel to facial foam to laundry detergents. The sudden onset of this itch becomes harder to find... But thanks anyway! Would definitely consult the doctor.
Avatar f tn Hmm... Not sure what it is but i got eczema after being pregnant. Its on both or my and and one hand. Its incredibly itchy and red. I've found Eucerin works best for me. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Loratadine is considered a placebo by many doctors (and many patients that I have talked to). Zyrtec and Allegra are good choices. Since Allegra just came OTC, it will be much more expensive the Zyrtec generic. I take Zyrtec. Take care and feel better. God bless.
Avatar f tn I am dying of a 48 hour allergy attack! Clarita does NOT help and the only thing that did before my pregnancy was Allegra.. I am 24.5 weeks along, could I get away with a dose?
Avatar m tn Allegra D the one that is two colors tan and white will do that....I read it somwhere but can't remember where.
Avatar f tn Me and my dad both have moderate/severe eczema since we were under the age of one, turns out we both have severe allergies. My friend has severe eczema, but claims she has no allergies. My question is : is eczema always caused by allergies?
1402935 tn?1281958699 I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. Are these medications the same? This discussion is related to Post-Nasal cough?.
Avatar f tn Ah, relief !
Avatar f tn Benadryl is safe.
