Avatar n tn Try looking for methyl folate or 'folate', instead of folic acid. Folic acid is artificial and manmade. Folate is naturally occurring from vegetables. it may be easier on your tummy. You should be able to get it in a health food shop.

Avatar n tn My daughter ate Tums (calcium tablets) like candy all during her pregnancy to combat the burning of GERD or heartburn. Ask your doctor if it's okay for you.

Avatar n tn I am 7 months pregnant and just today I started having a ton of acid reflex.. I can't stand it. Is there anything you can do to lessen this symptom or ease it?
Avatar f tn I'm on acid reflux tablets (mepradec) as I suffer anyways, but tums, rennies, gaviscon. If your in the UK, your midwife/doctor will prescribe them for free. Milk helps but I suggest being careful on fats like bacon and extra fibre like weetabix, bran flakes etc and eating within 2-3 hours before you will lay down.

Avatar f tn Hi, Have a look at this link http://www.healthiertalk.com/hidden-dangers-stomach-acid-reducers-2044 So what i think is that your body can't absorb the calcium from the calcium tablets because of the acid tablets. So i'm going to give the calcium patch a try, what have i to lose if i can't absorb it through my stomach. I don't understand how any of the doctors I've seen haven't mentioned this to me, i think it is very important as it could led to Osteoporosis!!!
Avatar f tn I have it all day. Its depressing and painful, I don't like milk so I don't drink that. I have a gag reflex so I can't take any liquids or chewable tablets. Idk what else to do.
775145 tn?1246258680 Just wondered if it would be a good idea to add the option of taking Folic Acid tablets to the ovulation tracker? I thought it would be a good way to track the tablets as well as a reminder.
2075737 tn?1379447682 ) Therefore, if you want to take two folic acid tablets a day rather than one until you have a chance to talk to the doc, it would not harm you or the pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I've been treated multiple times for h pylori bacteria with Tetracycline or Flagyl and Pepto Bismol tablets. I also take probiotics and I believe the first time I took the probiotics that it helped digestive problems. Try taking the Pepto Bismol tablets (four tablets every six hours) and see if it helps. When I feel like I'm having a flare up, I take the tablets for a couple of days, and it seems to help. Oddly enough, it's the Pepto that kills the h phlori not the antibiotics.
