alendronic acid tablets

My mom is taking Fosamax [Alendronic Acid], she is taking it exactly as directed and is still getting terriible burning in her esophagus. She is really suffering. She says there are no alternative medications she can switch to. Are there any remedys she can take to help ease the burning in her esophagus? Supplements, Vitamins, anything like that? Any help anyone can give me would be greatle appreciated, as i Said, she is really suffering Thanks in Advance!

Try looking for methyl folate or 'folate', instead of folic acid. Folic acid is artificial and manmade. Folate is naturally occurring from vegetables. it may be easier on your tummy. You should be able to get it in a health food shop.

How lucky no does folic acid tablets have to be taken for during pregnancy or the pregnacare tablets?

My daughter ate Tums (calcium tablets) like candy all during her pregnancy to combat the burning of GERD or heartburn. Ask your doctor if it's okay for you.

( however they make me sick!!! Has this happen to any of you ladies? And why do you think my iron is low!?

Sometimes I vomit right after taking the tablets. Vomit all the food including tablets.. Here am confused a bit... Do I need to take the tablet again or forget about all.. Is anyone has gone through this kind of situation.. Or am thinking crazy.. Answers would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance...

Hi all I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Is anybody taking iron tablets. Is it a must. I am not enjoying taking these tablets at all.

Has anyone found a natural way to ease this I have it so bad it keeps up at night I have tried once a day tablets like zantac and the one off fizzy tabs like tums and rennies but nothing helps :(

I'm not towards the end, just at 28 weeks but last night I woke up choking because of acid reflux. It was scary and I hate it.

but still my acid problem ie burping all day has not ended even after taking 10 tablets , and got even worse .... burps now seem to come up with a big noise as well which makes me feel uncomfortable socially as well ...... my question for u is doctor that other than hernia , ulcer , tumor etc what is causing huge acid formation in my stomach after a small meal ??? why do i keep burping and bloating after every meal when everything in my stomach is absolutely fine ???

see im a bit confused because folic acid is in pregnacare tablets, but my wee tub of folic acid says to stop at 12 weeks its so confusing because you can take pregnacare throughout youur whole pregnancy which would mean folic acid should be fine throughout too, im a ftm so im new to all this haha:)

s put me on quite a bit of meds im taking citraNatal 90 dha, foltx tablets, profe forte tablets, 200 mg progesterone tablets, and starting next week ill see him once a week for progesterone shots and at 14wks ill be getting a clerclage put in.... so im feeling confident with this pregnancy but have any of you been put in tablets & shots and everything be ok? Like you have a safe healthy pregnancy?

ve had it since about 15 weeks and am 27 weeks now, I take ranitidine tablets plus try to eat little and often, glass of milk helps and not lying flat too

I only tool a few folic acid tablets like 2 a week because I was forgetful and I'm 32+3 with a healthy baby :-)

I'm on acid reflux tablets (mepradec) as I suffer anyways, but tums, rennies, gaviscon. If your in the UK, your midwife/doctor will prescribe them for free. Milk helps but I suggest being careful on fats like bacon and extra fibre like weetabix, bran flakes etc and eating within 2-3 hours before you will lay down.

If you can get quickeze tablets they work a treat!

So i'm going to give the calcium patch a try, what have i to lose if i can't absorb it through my stomach. I don't understand how any of the doctors I've seen haven't mentioned this to me, i think it is very important as it could led to Osteoporosis!!!

I have it all day. Its depressing and painful, I don't like milk so I don't drink that. I have a gag reflex so I can't take any liquids or chewable tablets. Idk what else to do.

I've been treated multiple times for h pylori bacteria with Tetracycline or Flagyl and Pepto Bismol tablets. I also take probiotics and I believe the first time I took the probiotics that it helped digestive problems. Try taking the Pepto Bismol tablets (four tablets every six hours) and see if it helps. When I feel like I'm having a flare up, I take the tablets for a couple of days, and it seems to help. Oddly enough, it's the Pepto that kills the h phlori not the antibiotics.
