I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.
If you search 'ketoconazole' online, the first link that popped up for me is from the NIH (National Institutes of Health in DC) and the second one is from the website 'rxlist', which is pretty good imo at explaining medical/scientific/pharmaceutical stuff at a high level but not completely over my head. The prescription drug Fosamax (the generic is alendronate sodium) is a medication which has been prescribed to hundreds of thousands of postmenopausal women to treat osteoporosis and help increase bone mass thereby reducing the chance of spinal or non-spinal fractures. Fosamax has also been prescribed to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis. Brand name Fosamax is manufactured in the United States by Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc.
The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.

Nervous System Disturbances
The NIH states that coma or convulsions could be a sign of Tylenol overdose. According to the RxList, such nervous system involvement is rare, except in the case of a massive overdose or if the person is also taking or has overdosed on other medications that may interfere with the nervous system. Coma can also occur during an overdose if the patient is going into liver failure.
It can also cause fever and chills. The steriods do mask the sysptoms of chemo. rxlist has info about it.
I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.
Stroke might refer to a blockade in some of the brain arteries (ischemic stroke) or to a bleeding of those arteries (hemorrhagic strokes).
I think that Coumadin, being an anti coagulant, may cause strokes of the second type, in particular if associated with high BP.

Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.

Any longer could cause corneal adverse events......what kind of events? Benzodiazepines can very well be addicting meds, they are a schedule class III drug, the same category as Vicoden. From rxlist "Use of benzodiazepines, including lorazepam, may lead to physical and psychological dependence." So i would definitely talk with your doctor before stopping these meds, you might have to do a slow taper. Best of luck to you!
You could try doing a search on the internet. rxlist might be a good place to start. They usually disclose what medications are indicated for.

s, but this has exponentially been exacerbated by Arimidex. For the past 2 yrs I have been taking a weekly bisphosphonate (Alendronate), plus twice daily Calcichew/Vit.D to help prevent further bone loss.
Tamoxifen is prescribed for pre-menopausal patients, the AI's for post-menopausal. As I had a full hysterectomy some 19 yrs ago, I could go straight on to Arimidex.
I checked FDA and found hallucinations mentioned in relationship to having Serotonin Syndrome but not anywhere else. I checked an online PDR - rxlist and found research with 3779 people with MDD with no mention of hallucinations. Drugs.com also no mention of hallucinations.
I did not say it could not be Cymbalta causing hallucinations, I said the PDR didn't include hallucinations. I said I didn't have hallucinations. I have now done more research. Where is yours?
