Avatar f tn I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Avatar n tn Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.
206807 tn?1331936184 A stunning proposal from the Federation Council (FC), the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, to President Putin that is circulating in the Kremlin today calls for the present government of the United States, under President Barak Obama, to be labeled as a “criminal regime” due to its failure to adhere to the rule of international law, while at the same time it continues to embark upon numerous “paths of conflict” Russian lawmakers warn could ignite a catastrophic global war.

Avatar f tn with that being said it is so hard to tell how much of it is mechanical ( foley) related, and how much of it cm related, not to mention that any intrusion such as a fc can highly increase the chances of a UTI which can decrease urniation, I am sure the med staff have her on anti biotics to handle this though right? are the monitoring her INO, are her kidneys functioning when the fc is in place and it is just not that she feels the need for a 8 hour period when it is out?
Avatar m tn The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.
Avatar n tn The doctor diagnosed my condition as BPH, and put me on 2 drugs (Folex and Avodart). After a week, the FC was removed. However, I still could not pass urine in the normal way (amount, flow etc.), and hence had to be recatheterized. I was on the re-inserted FC for a further 3 weeks, and it was removed yesterday.
Avatar f tn It's probably not going to show positive on a HPT at 8dpo, I got one 9dpo, sooo faint, and that is VERY early. Implantation can occur 6-12dpo, and if it implants 6dpo, it needs 3-5 days to show positive on a HPT, 9dpo being earliest. I really wouldn't even pay attention to symptoms at all, when we were TTC, every month I wasn't pregnant I had a ton of "symptoms" then the month I got pregnant I was very surprised to find I had NONE, and still don't, 11w5d!
Avatar f tn I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.
Avatar f tn They found some medical issues between our fc birth and this lo. Who else has experianced a high risk birth and what is the main difference between a regular pregnancy and a high risk?
Avatar n tn I am at my wits end! I had my scheduled mammogram. It showed an "architectural distortion" in my right breast since the previous years mammogram of 2 cm. No lump. I have always had fibrocyctic breasts ( I might add that I took 2 very bad falls and broke my elbow in 2 places, surgery required, as well as severely bruised my chest and breast 10 mos. ago). I had a compression mammogram and untrasound that were still inconclusive.
