Avatar f tn I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Avatar n tn Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.
Avatar m tn The prescription drug Fosamax (the generic is alendronate sodium) is a medication which has been prescribed to hundreds of thousands of postmenopausal women to treat osteoporosis and help increase bone mass thereby reducing the chance of spinal or non-spinal fractures. Fosamax has also been prescribed to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis. Brand name Fosamax is manufactured in the United States by Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc.
Avatar m tn The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.
1139187 tn?1355706647 I started taking Voost (effervescent - great for absorption) multi vitamin containing all the B vitamins, C and E and within two days I started to feel the difference. Knock me down with a feather but I have deficiency states. *rolls eyes*. Deficiency queen shall continue lol...
Avatar n tn I finally broke down and told my partner what was going on yesterday, since I needed him to translate to the pharmacist. They gave me two effervescent tablets (baking soda, sodium carbonate, acetosalic acid, and citric acid compound) and a medicine called Kaosec (loperamida chloride? my translation may not be correct). I took one of the effervescent tablets right away along with one of the other pills, and then the other effervescent this morning.
Avatar f tn I take Zantac effervescent which works straight away (if it decides to work that is) because you drink it while it's fizzing. Valium is the only thing that really works for me - settles everything down in a few minutes. Talk to your doc about it.

Avatar m tn Our doctor has done blood tests and diagnosed a zinc deficiency, for which she has prescribed Solvazinc effervescent tablets. My daughter absolutely hates the taste of them. I've read the info leaflet, and it says each tablet contains 125mg of zinc sulfate monohydrate which is equivalent to 45mg of elemental zinc. I've investigated over the counter zinc supplements. They mostly seem to provide 15mg of elemental zinc in a tablet you can swallow whole.
Avatar f tn thankyou,i am with contact of my doctor ,he said there is no solution for damaged vertibras, but calcium and vitiman d and alendronate sodium/cholecaiciferol tablets will help spine and bones from further damages but what to do with prednisones i cant stop them because of asthma and taking of them will damage other bones isnt there any other solution instead of prednisones, i know there is nothing accept these because my doctor told me:(

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.
Avatar n tn Apart from drink a lot of water - which I do anyway -the research on most helpful prevention is pretty wishy-washy. One study suggested the effervescent alkalising potassium and sodium citrates etc to be taken at night only was 75% effective for prevention. My stones are the usual calcium oxalate type.
Avatar m tn I had burning feeling then transferred to pain in my penis especially at the tip of penis. I feel comfortable while passing urine. Some times I feel irritation in one of my lower testicle. This pain stated from 10th of September. Yesterday I consulted a Physician and checked my urine for UTI test and confirmed that it is negative. Still he give Urispas (Flavoxate HCL) tablet & Ural effervescent granules.Still I have the same pain in my penis.I am taking enough water also.
Avatar f tn I have felt like whatever I drink is effervescent for the last week. Today, the tip of my nose is tingly and numb. Another thing, food seems to taste much strong...like garlic and hot things are really strong!
Avatar m tn I would certainly recommend a product called "Natural Calm plus Calcium" It is a powder that you mix with water, it is effervescent and it works very well for muscle cramps and other related problems. It has both Magnesium and Calcium in it in the proper amounts, plus, potassium, which can also cause the muscle cramps. Vitamin D3 is included to help with the assimilation. If they do not get better, I would certainly see your doctor.
Avatar m tn He prescribed multivitamins (effervescent), medicine containing magnesium, and some capsules for the stomach. After a week I felt better. Almost a month and half later, I fell sick again, but this time it was very serious. I almost DIED. I had the same symptoms, except diarrhea. It was the most horrible experience I went through. I visited the same general practitioner.
Avatar n tn Yessir! It sure does - happens to me all the time. Also can be aggravated by food additives; especially the euphoric feelings. I can't sleep at all some nights with this. Take Zantac effervescent antacid before your last meal and before bed. It helps sometimes. most (young) Doctors will deny it but it's true!!!
Avatar f tn I take 20mg at night because it makes me dizzy but i dont get the heartburn until the afternoon the next day. I was wondering is it safe to take ranitidine 150mg effervescent? I took it all the time when needed before being back on prozac and it works i was wondering does it cause any side affect?
Avatar f tn Also, you may want to try an effervescent prenatal instead of tablets. They dissolve in water or juice and don't taste terrible plus the extra b6 is supposed to help with nausea.
Avatar n tn I've tried them both for my problems which are like yours. They didn't work at all and were a waste of money (for me). Try Swedish Bitters from the health store and take about a spoonful in bubbly soda water and see how you feel. It helps me and I take it before bed and a couple of times in the day. Also try Slippry Elm powder - a teaspoon dissolved in a little water. That's often soothing.
