Is it a good idea to take a drug holiday? So I wont get used to them. I know it will be hard. But I feel like they are not working that good.

I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?

Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.

I was supposed to pick up my celexa today, but with all the holiday rush , I forgot. I usually take 40mg celexa every nite and now pharmacy not open til Friday morn. Wondering if I should take an old rx of trazodone between now and then.????

Anyone gone on the drug holiday? Am now going into my 2 months of holiday and am a bit nervous over it. Neuro told me 70% chance of new flares/lesions and can't say that makes me happy. He wants me on Gilynea? but think cardiologist will veto that, and then there's the once a day pill starts with A, that one looks interesting but still waiting for antibody and liver blood tests results to come back. Have promised myself not to consider every little twitch as a symptom!

I take liquid oxycodone through my feeding tube for pain management of neuropathic and GI pain. I also have rescue meds for migraines but I've gone off my preventative meds, Topamax and Gabapentin, as my husband and I were trying to conceive. I really would like to stay off the neuroleptics for a bit longer, but I'm concerned that I'm becoming overly tolerant of the oxycodone.

I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.

I have had MD for 18 years. Been on Avonex, Betaseron, Tysabri, and now Tecfidera. Unfortunately, I'm also on lots of other medications, mostly due to terrible central pain. My neurologist made me stop the Tysabri after 24 infusions because of safety concerns. I felt my overall best while on Tysabri and have asked him if and when I might be able to go back on the monthly infusions. He does not have an answer for me at this point.

The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.

I just got back from a 2 week holiday/vacation. I have not been on this forum for quite a while. I hope that all of you that I have talked to (as well as all those on the forum) are moving along with dx/treatment. I am still fibro dx. Then during this holiday, my family suffered a loss then my husband found out his family never liked me nor did they wanted me a part of their family. I was rushed to the hopital with panic attacks and prescribed anti anxeity medication. Should I go back on PB medication to minimize my depression before it comes back full force?

today i am reminding myself to live in gratitude. The holiday has for me much attached to it that could trigger anxiety. While I did have some moments that could have potentially caused me grief, i reminded myself to focus on the real and try to stay in the now I actually found myself enjoying it!! The story that caused the PTSD at this time of year was no longer important.

Want to wish all a very happy holiday as we go throught another year. I know this will be my last year with my sweet mom so am holding on to each day and making memories that i can carry till the end of my life on earth. mom will not know what day it is or why we are giving her wraped gifts , or even that she opened them 5 secs later but we want to let her enjoy what time she will remember on that day.

To be safe should I go on the pill to stop it from coming during my holiday ? does it cause weight gain or pimples ??

Ok so I go on holiday August 19 I currently weight 94kg and im around 5ft4 and 20 years old I want to loose at least 20kg im dieting and exercising on the wii and on my exercise bike for an hour a day any tips for me to loose weight quickly thanks :)

i do not see why a safe holiday would be a bad thing?? if u were going to a place where u were around using..i guess it would be...but staying busy is a good thing as a rule for most..

She may be able to help you out somewhat and at the very least you can swap notes on what is going on ok?

t understand why you would need to go all the way to zero drug and zero pain relief before making a drug change. At least you know for sure now that medication is still necessary for your pain control. I have been in the position before of wondering if I still need a certain medications. I'm usually a coward and unwilling to risk the symptoms that would be the result of failing a drug reduction trial. You already knew you needed a change.

Hi I'm going on holiday in about 4 weeks time and my period will be due at the same time. I know I can take primolut n to delay my period, but after reading about the side effects it sounds like I might have Pms-like symptoms while I'm taking it, so i dont really wanna be moody, bloated with pimples on holiday either. Does anyone know if once the period I'm on now finishes I could take the primolut n tabs for about a week or so, would this bring my period on early?

Hi,.....I would also like to wish every body a Merry Christmas....I agree whole heatedly with Sarh ...this time a year is full of joy as well as full of obsticals for the addict...often wine and alachol flow during the Holiday season....just know this alachol is a drug....after being in the rooms of N/A many addicts that relapsed started with just one drink surround your self with clean people and please dont take that first drink we can all get there this Holiday clean.......
