alendronate dosage forms

I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?

Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.

The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.

Also, would it perhaps be possible to add some alendronate, or something else to help her bone density and still be able to benefit from the thyroid medication? Thank you so much!

8 mcg for 2 weeks; then 22 mcg for 5 weeks; then up to a full dosage of 44 mcg. My MS specialist did not discuss the reason for working up to 44 mcg; I just figured this was standard, and the more medicine I can get (assuming I can handle the side effects at the high dosage), the better.

I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.

Latley his depression has come back (not as bad as before). His MD has increase his dosage by 150 mg.(has not started yet, med is being filled) , can people build up talorance to this drug?

I heard the effectivesnees of accutane is increased with a twice daily dosage. True? I will be taking 40mg a day, once a day. Would it be better to take 20 mg twice a day? Also, is it ok to take glucosamine for my joints while on accutane? Lastly, should I be getting a monthly blood test? Or any other precautionary measures?

Hi there. For the past 10-12 years I've struggled with forms of anxiety. In turn this has created a big problem when it comes to getting/maintaining an erection during relationships. During my last relationship in 2014 i relied on Viagra and Cialis. This seemed to do the job. However i have recently just met someone and these tablets don't seem to be taking effect. started me on 40 mg. of Nexium once a day, we had to up the dosage to 40 Mg. twice a day to see results. I have been maintaining this dosage for 2 years, and in the last few months my discomfort has seriously increased. I feel as if I constantly carry around a 5 lb weight where my stomach used to be, and upon eating ANYTHING...even so little as a few bites of food the "heaviness" in my belly doubles. There is no burning or indegestion, just heaviness and misery.

thankyou,i am with contact of my doctor ,he said there is no solution for damaged vertibras,but calcium and vitiman d and alendronate sodium/cholecaiciferol tablets will help spine and bones from further damages but what to do with prednisones i cant stop them because of asthma and taking of them will damage other bones isnt there any other solution instead of prednisones, i know there is nothing accept these because my doctor told me:(

Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.

I am taking a multiple vitamin with B12 in it but it is a lower dosage. Do I need an additional B12 supplement?

I take Novolog and Lantus insulin in the pen forms. I just started taking them like this about 6 weeks ago. I really like them!!! I take the Novolog 5 units in the morning and 5 units in the evenings, with meals. I also use a sliding scale with it. The Lantus I take just before bedtime. Right now, I'm at 25 units, from 45 units 3 weeks ago!!! I've found that when I take both just before bed, my morning fasting blood sugars are really low...like below 80.

Though not as bad as xanax, you can expect withdrawls if just stopping most forms of medication. They would vary. Headaches I would assume is one. You might get more yet.

Synthyroid is a thyroid replacement drug which provides the body with only the T4 form, where as Armour thyroid supplies with both T3 and T4 forms of thyroid. Side effects are usually associated with over dosage and they are vomiting, convulsions, coma, heart failure, hypoglycemia etc. Discuss with your physician regarding this and follow her advise. I think you would report the facts as they are at the time you fill out the forms. They understand that unforseen things happen sometimes. Not a huge deal.
