I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.

The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.
I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.
thankyou,i am with contact of my doctor ,he said there is no solution for damaged vertibras,but calcium and vitiman d and alendronate sodium/cholecaiciferol tablets will help spine and bones from further damages but what to do with prednisones i cant stop them because of asthma and taking of them will damage other bones isnt there any other solution instead of prednisones, i know there is nothing accept these because my doctor told me:(

Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.
Also, would it perhaps be possible to add some alendronate, or something else to help her bone density and still be able to benefit from the thyroid medication? Thank you so much!
s, but this has exponentially been exacerbated by Arimidex. For the past 2 yrs I have been taking a weekly bisphosphonate (Alendronate), plus twice daily Calcichew/Vit.D to help prevent further bone loss.
Tamoxifen is prescribed for pre-menopausal patients, the AI's for post-menopausal. As I had a full hysterectomy some 19 yrs ago, I could go straight on to Arimidex.

Does anyone know why we get dizzy with chiari? I have been doing so well with little dizziness. I don't know if I exhausted myself this weekwnd and that's why its back full force. So bummed because I was actually feeling somewhat normal for a while. I wasn't even moving last night when out of nowhere my head felt weird for about 3 seconds. Now today having episodic dizziness and funny feeling in head. Ugh! Disappointed and frustrated but who isn't with chiari.
Dizziness is common throughout pregnancy. Because of the blood being directed to the placenta, the blood getting back to mom isn't top priority any more. I had it bad until about 14 weeks. But continue drinking water in case you're dehydrated and make sure you blood sugar isn't low so eat something when you feel that way. But if it's none of those things it's just the blood flow. It stinks.
Oh yes. I'm almost 23 weeks and the dizziness started a week or so ago. Doctor said its very common at this stage. He's checking my blood levels to be safe but he says its usually due to the blood pressure or hormones. Told be to eat more often. Hope you start feeling better soon.
Also, when you get up from sitting or floor this causes a temporary drop in blood pressure - dizziness is the result of low blood pressure.
Drink more water, keep your blood pressure normal.
