I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.

The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.
I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.
thankyou,i am with contact of my doctor ,he said there is no solution for damaged vertibras,but calcium and vitiman d and alendronate sodium/cholecaiciferol tablets will help spine and bones from further damages but what to do with prednisones i cant stop them because of asthma and taking of them will damage other bones isnt there any other solution instead of prednisones, i know there is nothing accept these because my doctor told me:(

Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.

I have 3 cats a 3 year old and 2 11 week kittens. Not all cats carry toxoplasmosis. they say cats that eat raw meat or mice and other small rodents contract it. You can have your cats tested at vet to see if they are carriers. I rescued my oldest cat back in january i was in my first trimester, BD said he would clean her box, he never does. I got scoopable litter i scoop it out into a bag throw it away and wash hands really good. I got the kittens when they were 8 weeks old.
I dont think so but in my situation i was never allergic to cats and now that im pregnant its horrible my whole body starts to break outs so i had to get rid of them
Yeah my sister has two cats, she has twins and it's fine. Just make sure when baby is napping to close the door so the cat won't go in there. Cats like to sleep by their heads and it can suffocate them.

Pregnant women aren't suppose to change litter boxes and sometimes cats can be dangerous once the baby is born because they can tend to be really cuddly and cause suffocation or take the babies breath away. I gradually got my cats use to outside and they usually stay in our garage now, atleast until the baby's born and older.

Well, I'm just venting.. As the days tick down for my baby girls arrival, I can't help but hate my cats more and more! They're disgusting to me..and they are scratching up the walls and NOW peeing on the floor.. my dad yelled and yelled at me to get rid of them a long time ago, but now I'm strongly considering it.. Is the humane society 100% humane? They wouldn't put them down would they?
Yeah, I have two cats and I have heard about how they cuddle the baby for the milk which can lead to accidental smothering. As long as you watch them and don't leave them alone with the child, then the baby will be fine. We are being sure to keep the cats away from our daughter once she is born, only when we sleep at night. Just being extra cautious!
My sister had two cats when she had her twins that were inside cats and it was fine. I heard that out door cats sometimes have toxoplasmosis because they tend to eat dead birds and mice. If your cat is an out door cat then you can take it to the vet to make sure it doesn't have toxoplasmosis. . If it does then get someone to look after her till she is done the meds.
I personally would keep the cat in and get a box. The biggest cause for the bacteria is from cats that go outside. Indoor cats sometimes don't even carry the bacteria. If you do get scratched then wash immediately with soap and water. People can be immune to it and you can get it from lots of other things not just cats.
I have two cats. I just let someone else clean the litter box. You'll be fine. Even petting on them won't hurt you. Alot of people have already had toxoplasmosis and didn't even know it. You could have your doc test to see if you have already formed an immunity.
The smell wont cause a miscarriage hun ive got 2 cats and they go a lot my partner changes trays everyday but I can smell it while hes at work and im fine through my prwgnancy im 11 weeks now xx
