Magnesium competes with calcium for absorption and can cause a
calcium deficiency if
calcium levels are already low. Some medications may lower magnesium levels in the body. These include chemotherapy drugs, diuretics, digoxin (Lanoxin), hormonal supplementation, steroids, and certain antibiotics.
Possible Interactions:
If you are currently being treated with any of the following medications, you should not use magnesium without first talking to your health care provider.
