Common Questions and Answers about Aldara uses

aldara

Avatar f tn I'd head to your local pharmacy and just ask them if they know of this medication being used for skin tags- your pharmacists are usually the biggest help when it comes to uses and interactions of prescriptions. It wouldn't hurt to just go get tested either, it's not abnormal to get a regular panel of STD tests run if you are sexually active as a precaution.
Avatar m tn I check online and seem like they have all good reviews. Seem too good to be true. I also heard about Aldara but the price is little bit expensive.
Avatar m tn I understand there is a chance my immune system can suppress the virus. I am just starting my prescribed treatment of Aldara. My question is due to the location of the warts( no symptoms on penis or scrotum) is there a high chance of transmitting the virus through 'normal' vaginal intercourse? I am stressed to think this virus will impact my future relationships and be a risk that my future wife will have to overcome.
Avatar n tn A dermatologist freezes the warts, then the person uses a cream called Aldara. They'll go away...but might come back, its a virus. It does calm down with time... depends on the severity. Some research indicates that using Aldara might prevent them from coming back in the same spot. You can see the warts on his penis if you look..... dont freak and make him self conscience. Try to diffuse with humor and/or love.... Penis have little glands on them, they resemble pimples... little bumps, normal.
Avatar n tn Currently I'm under treatment and uses Aldara as prescribed. I usually have protected sex and I thought I was exposed to this STI due to recent obsession on anal rimming. Just wanted to clarify the chance of one getting anal/genital warts through unprotected rimming??? How does the types of viruses that results anal warts get transmitted??? is it only through skin to skin contact or can there be a chance of getting these types transmitted through oral sex practises like sucking and rimming????
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed aldara which is a cream that stimulates your immune system to destroy the virus that causes them as oppose to just destroying the tissue itself. It appears to be working. Some ppl react differently to it though. Hope this helps some. Stay positive at least you have each other..
Avatar n tn But I think both doctors used the same procedure..... The warts were burned... But I apply Aldara on the treated area after the open wound heals, as my dermatologist advised me... My fiance refused to apply Aldara after treatment... because her doctor didn't recommend it... It's getting frustrating... spend money, time and it really hurts..... I really don't mind spending for our treatment and we don't mind the scars and pain... I just want to be normal again...
Avatar m tn If you are in your 20s or younger and don't have HIV....Aldara will probably cure the virus within a few months (whether it's HPV or molluscum contagiousum) I doubt you have a skin tag on your penis. HPV is very common just use the meds and get rid of it while you still stand a chance. HPV turns into carcinoma (cancer). Yep. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Just use the meds.
Avatar n tn like I said, she kept getting checked due to her yeast infections). Now, she just started Aldara cream. Seeing as how her pap smears came back negative do you think that shes in the majority that her immune system will eradicate the virus? Are women with abnormal pap smears more likely for more recurrences? And based on those facts, do you think she will she have any more irratation in the vaginal area once the Aldara cream is done?
Avatar n tn I called my docotr and told him that I originally had one wart and now there is four. I ask him if he would prescribe condolyox, or aldara? He instead told me he would burn them off or send me to a specialist. I went to the clinic yesterday and they were closed till tomorrow. I bought the OTC wart remover and used that yesterday. I know it said not to use on venrial warts but I am despert. I have had these bumps for several weeks and I have a feeling they will not go away on there own.
Avatar f tn treatment creams, such as concentrated green tea catechins (for which a patent has been obtained by a big pharma company which charges a fortune for the cream), interferon alpha, aldara, etc. There are MANY uses for almost all drugs that are well-accepted in the medical community but not yet, and, often, NEVER, formally approved by the FDA for that use. Zorvirax for genital warts is one such treatment.

Avatar m tn When you mention "Gileads therapeutic vaccine" did you mean its TollLike7 receptor agonist drug, that is currently in development or do they indeed also have a therapeutic vaccine in development? The TL agonist drug was tested in Woodchucks as presented in Orlando last year and showed very impressive Vl reductions of 3 to 4 logs. I would like to mention that an other TL7 agonist is already approved for skin conditions. Its name is Imiquimod and the brand name.

Avatar m tn My doctor gave me aldara or something similar, basically an ointment.
Avatar m tn When you do treat the wart with lets say, cryotherapy, your wart will dry and fall off but the skin where the wart was may still contain a small amount of the virus, it may or may not cause another outbreak but thats how you treat the area after you get rid of the wart. Use veregen or Aldara on it afterwards to use your immune system to treat that area.
Avatar n tn My last one showed me as having VIN2 which my oncologist/gyno wanted me to use ALDARA Cream for 3 months, I tried it but i couldnt function with all the side effects, So after much reading as much as i could find on HPV and VIN i started taking the supplement DIM, thought it was helping some but now I have the burning back again and am afraid I will have to go in and have another biopsy again. I hate this. How come so many of us never heard of this before.
