Aldara keratosis

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara keratosis

Avatar m tn Hello, Aldara cream or Imiquimod is used for treatment of actinic keratosis, warts and topical treatment of biopsy-confirmed, primary superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC) in immunocompetent adults. It is still not confirmed whether your mole is a malignancy or a mole. I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. Confirmation can be done by excisional biopsy with narrow margins.
Avatar n tn I really dont understand it, but evidently the bad cells are thru 3 layers of the vaginal wall. My dr prescribed Aldara vaginally, twice a week for 12 weeks. I've had my 4th treatment, and I'm not having fun. Within 24 hours after teatment I am crying in pain, muscle aches, joint pain, my skin over my whole body hurts. I also have vaginal itching, burning, but its not that bad. I also am having nausea, with upset stomach and vomiting. About 48 hours after the treatment, i begin to feel better.
Avatar n tn Is Aldara use a good idea for someone with autoimmune disease (for possible facial pre-melanoma in area difficult to operate on)?
Avatar f tn I don't think the Aldara will affect the biopsy diagnosis. You are right that Aldara would have caused an actinic keratosis to react. I guess that's why your dermatologist wants to get a definitive biopsy diagnosis. But again, the biopsy should tell you what you need to know. Take care. Dr.
Avatar f tn Hi Doctor, I am a 47 y/o female with a history of dysplastic nevi, melanoma in-situ (on chest), multiple basal cell and actinic keratosis. My question is about a lesion that appeared on my chest about 6 weeks ago that I showed to my dermatologist stating I thought it was another basal cell and should I treat it with Aldara like the others on my chest that have been popping up alot since January of this year. She agreed that I do that. It started out about 5.5mm with a crusty scab in it.
Avatar m tn hi, i have a mole in my genital area, went for biopsy and they rules out as benign keratosis, aldara cream was given and after a few applications the skin became red and sore. recently i had protected sex with condom with a woman, but the sore skin is at the base of the penis where the condom doesnt cover......will i contract syphillis by this manner? there are no chancre on her vagina.....i am just afraid of the juices.
Avatar f tn Dr. Rockoff, Sorry, but I was wondering if I usually have a reaction to Aldara on my basal cells, would a lesion that popped up as a squamous cell and not an actinic keratosis react to two weeks treatment of Aldara?
Avatar m tn Hello. I've attached a photo of a skin coloration on the base of my penis (the photo is a collage at various resolutions). The area is about 1/4" wide and high, is asymmetrical and brown in color. I first noticed this spot about 6-7 years ago (2002). Fifteen (15) months ago I showed my dermatologist, and upon clinical observation, he said "this has to be removed" and referred me to a urologist.
Avatar n tn said it was contagious and could spread to other parts of her body or to someone else. She prescribed Aldara 5% Cream. It comes in 24 small application tubes at a cost of $639.00. Can anyone tell me the name of this condition? Thanks!
Avatar m tn i went for nitrogen , electro cautery and aldara cream treatment X 2, the keratosis went away, but the come back with more smaller new bumps. do i need a 2nd biopsy?

Avatar n tn I decided to follow up with a different Dermatologist, he felt it was a wart, said he could freeze, burn or cut off and biospy. Said he thought it was a wart, maybe keratosis, but felt it was a wart. I asked to remove and biopsy. Few questions .. two years seems a long time for a wart to hang around? Would this be contact from a different source, as I can't see how being treated in 2005/2006 would produce symptoms so many years later?
Avatar n tn The growths were then labled subhorrenic keratosis (sorry for the spelling). I've had one of these growths on my upper chest as well (which was taken off). After all this time, the growths still persist and start out smaller (sometimes light in pain or itching) and grow larger. There appears to be no clustering other than being concentrated in the thigh area. As one can imagine, receiving so many different diagnosis has caused much distress.
Avatar n tn I've also been using aldara in an off label use (for sebborhea keratosis) and had used the aldara for about 2-3 weeks for the SK's on my chest and back (it seems to work on some of them). So now, I'm wondering if the itching is related to one of these meds. The only reported side effects of aldara, however, is itching at the spot where it's applied, and I had that, but it felt different from the non-specific, random itching I now feel throughout the day. I've discontinued the aldara.
Avatar m tn He prescribed Aldara, which has not had the desired effect to date (I'm 1/3 through the treatment). I've since seen my regular (first) dermatologist and he inquired about the spot. Again, upon clinical observation, he stated "that is not a condyloma". I'm looking for feedback on a course of treatment: Should I get another biopsy? Should I just get it surgically removed by a urologist? As a urologist, what is your clinical observation or experience with a spot such as this?
9777394 tn?1468994722 First, have you ever used Aldara or Zyclara for genital warts or actinic keratosis? I have spoken to a whole lot of people who have suffered severely debilitating systemic symptoms. I am currently gathering data from all these affected people to decide on our next steps. Second, do you receive neck manipulations from a chiropractor or physiotherapist, etc.?
Avatar n tn By the way, from doing extensive research online, I am certain that the condition on my legs(which I’ve had since childhood) is keratosis pilaris, and that the white bumps(I’ve had since childhood) on my scrotum and penis can either be described as Fordyce spots or sebaceous prominence. I am hoping that perhaps my new development is a complication of one of these two pre-existing conditions. On the other hand, they also look alot like many of the molluscum pics I saw online….
Avatar n tn I have looked this up alot and 1 have seen that mine most closely resembles Stucco Keratosis. Since I have not been to a Dr for it yet as it has only began seriously mutliplying latley. I had picked up a topical solution from Walgreens called Kerasal. All the research online ive done on this say Urea can be used and some forms of acids. Kerasal has Urea and salicylic acid. I used this for about a month with some results.
Avatar f tn The clinical relevance of these findings and the mechanism of action of Aldara cream in treating actinic keratosis and superficial basal cell carcinoma are unknown.
