I got off inhales steroids three years ago after suffering health problems caused by it. I now use natural anti-inflammatories plus nebulized albuterol and an anti-histamine.
Asthma is separate, it is bronchoconstriction, with inflammation that is reversible with medication that opens up airways such as albuterol. There are also meds that help with the inflammation such as steroid inhalers, sometimes steroid pills when the wheezing is bad or asthma is out of control and needs a burst of anti inflammatory to help, Singulair,and other meds. I have not used Spiriva so I am unsure of its dosage, but I have taken ipratropium which is in the same class. As a neb solution it lasts 6 hours and as an MDI it last 4 hours. Check your prescription for dosing on this medication.

This season came around and sure enough, when he got a cold it went straight to lungs (wheezing, SOB, coughing)
We started inhaled steroid (budesonide), albuterol regimen again. Proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. Round of Orapred proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. After four months we consulted with Pulmonologist. Switched up steriod to inhaled Flovent 44 instead of nebulizer and albuterol qid. No results. Chest x-ray and blood allergy (why not at this point) ordered and clear.
Today while I am not as tired as I have been since I have been sick, the chest tightness reoccurred briefly in the afternoon. Using my albuterol inhaler helped, then the coughing returned. I still have a lot of mucus and my chest is slightly tight. It is all not as bad as it was before but is the medrol pack supposed to help clear this up? I thought at the very least I would have relief during the 6 days I am on it.

I’ve read that the average dosage for adults is 30 mg/day. I’m a 25 year old male. I weigh 220 lbs. and am 5’11”. The only other medication I’m on is 100 mg of Zoloft/day for the treatment of depression. I have no prior medical issues. What would be the appropriate dosage range for me if I were to take this medication? I’ve read that it may have negative effects on the heart. I’m considering talking with my PCP about this but am trying to find out on my own first. Would 60 mg/day be too much?

Your medication may not be adequate to control your symptoms. So, please consult your doctor to change the dosage or the medication. Lung function tests could further help to assess the status.

Hi, I'd see your doc for a look/see and PFT testing to see what's going on. You may need an albuterol and/or steroidal inhaler and the PFT tests will help determine what's going on. May be inflammation and night is when it rears its ugly head sometimes :(

Also --- croup can happen with a sharp change of temp. It's tricky so the PFT is extremely beneficial for your Dr.

I was diagnosed with an exercise induced asthma and prescribed a 90 mcg albuterol inhaler. I didn't use it much as I was fine most of the time. But just recently I have been having to use my inhaler every few hours or so because if I don't I get really short breathed. I don't know what's going on and it's worrying me.
I was having a hard time breathing 2 nights ago and decided to try my daughters albuterol inhaler. I used 5 puffs over a 24 hour period. I dont know why but I assumed it was harmless to use while pregnant. Now im looking online and see its a class C! Im nervous I may have done harm to baby. Just wondering if anyone here uses an albuterol inhaler and are they safe to use during pregnancy? I use one every now and then but not on a daily basis. I'm only 5 weeks along. I used mine tonight because I felt like I absolutely had to.
I have asthma and have been having a hard time breathing these past two days but really bad tonight.. I just used my albuterol and I'm so scared its going to hurt my baby. My Dr told me its better to breathe lol but I'm just being paranoid n worried.. anyone have asthma and used albuterol during pregnancy?
For adults, we often say that FT4 ought to be about midrange. Babies, however, run higher levels of FT4 than adults. The FT4 range you provide doesn't appear to be age-adjusted (it looks like an adult range). Perhaps your pedi endo is adfvising you to increase because he knows babies should have higher levels??? Also, her TSH is quite high, and this usually indicates that a meds increase is in order.
