20929774 tn?1689356064 Sleeping pills, also known as sleep aids or sedative-hypnotics, can help promote sleep for individuals with insomnia or other sleep disorders. However, the effects of sleeping pills can vary from person to person, and it's important to use them under the guidance of a healthcare professional. While sleeping pills can help initiate sleep, they may not necessarily provide a natural, restorative sleep experience.

Avatar f tn Talk to you doctor about a specific medication to try. He/she will have recommendations for you.
Avatar f tn No i have not tried that I know Tylenol pm dont help or most generic over the counter sleep aids dont help. Thanks though will be calling ob or pharmacist and asking my questions with them.
Avatar f tn I tried nyquil and over the counter sleep aids that did not help a bit. However, i did go to my dr and she did prescibe ambien and this time around it worked like a charm. that too can be very addicting. I only used it for the first two nights and last night went at it cold turkey. I know you said you do not have access to that though. You will probably get better rest in a few days and then the tylenol pm might work better.
Avatar n tn 1mg of lorazepam has helped me to sleep (a smaller dose is not effective) but I understand this med. is addictive. I am wondering about switching to one of the melatonin based natural sleep aids, specifically Restaid. Is this medicine safe & effective as a sleep aid? Can it be taken with antihistamines/decongestants which I take regularly for allergies?
603015 tn?1329862973 Its important to understand that you will as all of us here always need medication. However, medication can be adjusted. The Seroquel is helping you but Ambien is meant for short term use only and otherwise can be addictive. I would speak to your psychiatrist about having that changed as it doesn't seem to working regardless.
5875562 tn?1410898886 Hi I'm taking prenatal.
701713 tn?1228363498 t like taking the sleeping pills, but in order to function at all, I have to. I stopped fighting it and take my pills and sleep. I can take 2 Advil PM and they work better than the perscription sleep med. Tylenol PM makes me sick at my tummy so I stay away from them. Goos luck.
460185 tn?1326077772 Are prescription sleeping pills addicting? Are OTC sleep aids addicting? I've been having real difficulty sleeping and thought this would be the best place to get some honest answers. I am not taking sleeping pills or sleep aids at this time but the lack of sleep is distorting my perceptions.
Avatar m tn The generic drug for Lipitor has been recalled if you are on this medication contact your pharmacist. Recalled for possible glass particles in the pills.
Avatar n tn if that was the case you would have died or very ill by now especially without medication... So its obvious you didnt catch the virus... And its not a concern.

Avatar f tn I recently startet using adcodol for my tension headaches I had the other weak, which is a over the counter mild pain medication and that completely knocks me out. So I decided instead of using the highly addictive sleeping pill I recently switched it with adcodol. The adcodol is also addictive but the withdraws are minimal but I only drink about two to three pills a week so chances of becoming addictive to it are slim.
Avatar f tn They are two different types of medication. Xanax is a medication classified as a benzodiazepine (or what many people refer to as 'benzos') and the Celexa is a type of medication known as an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor). They are often prescribed concurrently and I have taken both types.
611606 tn?1315517767 Yes I use a sleeping aid, but I dont use a morphine pump, I just use fentynal patches and oxycodone for pain, the sleeping medication my doctor gave me is Remeron, it works very well, its not an addictive sleeping aid and the bonus side effect is appetite so when your too nauseated or just dont want to eat, it aleviates that. The only problem is that Remeron makes me hungry at night, dont know why but thats the time i usually start getting an appetite.
Avatar m tn i to share you fathers pain [ i go to bed at 10.30 pm and am up at 3.15 am after taking temazepam ., also after reducing my intake. it was not until after my doctor told my that quiting benzo's was harder to quit than any type of narcotic that reality set in...to all those that are tring to quit their narcotic habit ...let me give you a reality check...there is nothing and i mean nothing worse than than the need for sleep and not getting any...
Avatar f tn First of all, you should never take prescribed medication that is not yours. Second, there aresleep aids that you can buy OTC that work pretty well. If you continue to take medicstion not prescribed to you, yes addiction is a possiblity, along with other complications. Please stop.
Avatar n tn thanks a lot that was very helpful. could please answer one more question? would there be a difference between someone taking medication to reduce the viral load to undetectable levels after being diagnosed with aids and someone who has been taking medication to keep viral loads under control all along without progressing to aids at all?
Avatar f tn Yes.....Your body can become physically dependent on sleep aids. In most sleep aids, the medications is just diphenhydramine which is aka for Benadryl. You might be able to get to a point where you can sleep on your own again but you would have to stop taking the sleep aids and 'detox' so to speak. The sleepless nights won't last forever, just until your body gets used to not having the medication in your system and your natural body sleep mechanisms take over again.
Avatar f tn Today he prescribed Erythrocin 250 mg for an abcess. He told me to take 8 (eight) pill now and then 2 pills every 6 hours after that. That is 3 1/2 g in one day! Isn't 8 pills too much to take at the same time? I had him write it out for me to make sure I understood. I am afraid of taking so much at one time. Is this a normal dose?
Avatar n tn You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks. If a person is addicted to ambien, a doctor should be consulted to seek appropriate professional treatment (Drug rehab programs).
Avatar f tn You gotta be careful with rx sleeping aids, really any sleeping aids because it easy to become dependent upon them for sleep, but your much better off going with something natural like melatonin or l-tryptophan. Theres a website called sleepingpillsreviewed.com that has their top ten all natural sleeping aids that you could check out.
Avatar f tn One of the most effective treatments is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills which aids in regulating a woman’s hormones. Avatar f tn After reading about HIV / AIDS, I have found out that AIDS is developing infections and cancers. Could it be possible that my father got AIDS from my mother and died of it because of the developed cancer? My father had cancer in the lymph-nodes and had fungus on his tongue before he died. There is a lot of questions I want answers to. What will this virus mean for my sister and mother in the future and is there anything that can help other than their medication?
