Aggrenox medication dose

Common Questions and Answers about Aggrenox medication dose

aggrenox

Avatar f tn Thank you for answering my question. He hasn't decided on what to do as of yet, but I won't be able to afford the Aggrenox. My husband will be losing his job in 3 days. I was thinking Persantine as well, but will see if my doctor will let me do this. All Aggrenox is is an antiplatelet medication w/aspirin and I don't see why he couldn't just prescribe me an antiplatelet such as Plavix. Will see what happens and let the forum know.
Avatar f tn I was put on Aggrenox/Aspirin after my stroke about 2 months ago. Does anyone on the same treatment take any kind of Vitamins/Herbs with this medication?
1013028 tn?1250923267 Hi Linda, The lupus anticoagulants usually interfere with blood clotting and are also factors for thrombosis. Patients with a lupus anticoagulant are prone to excess bleeding, repeated miscarriages, thrombosis and strokes. Patients with a lupus anticoagulant that presents atleast twice and a history of thrombosis should be given indefinite treatment with anticoagulants. Thrombosis can be prevented with heparin administration and treated with heparin and warfarin.
Avatar n tn Aggrenox does have aspirin in it. It is recommended for strokes, as you already know. I'm not sure why the Dr has taken away the Aggrenox. Maybe he feels that taking aspirin is equivalent with less side effects? Aspirin does work well to help prevent stokes and heart attacks. So, there was no reason given for the change?
Avatar n tn I cut the Gabapentin to a lower dose and I think it was from another prescription Plavix and they changed it to Aggrenox I am doing fine now. Age is a bummer. I feel 30 but my body does not realize this! Smile.I appreciate your time and answer. Have a wonderful Summer.
Avatar n tn Does anyone take vitamins/herbs with aggrenox and aspirin?
Avatar n tn you MUST contact your prescribing dr to get approval to stop this medication. Aggrenox, Plavix, and Aspirin must be discontinued for 7 days prior to injection and Ticlid 14 days prior to injection. Coumadin should be discontinued 3-4 days prior to injection and you will need to have blood work completed within 24 hours prior to procedure. drink 1-2 full cups water 60 minutes prior to injection. eat a LIGHT meal.

Avatar n tn In June '08 I was sitting watching TV when my left side from my head down to my leg became stiff and numb. Went to the ER and checked by 5 neuronogists, had scans, MRI & other tests. Their consensus was a brain event in the rt. thalemus. For 2 & 1/2 yrs I was living with a 5 out of 10 sensation but last Dec. '10 as I was having dinner, the sensation became worse like an 8 out of 10 and I'm having increased trouble moving my whole left side.

Avatar n tn It is unclear whether there would be any serious interaction, however the synthroid works best when the dose is consistent and given at exactly the same time every day. To provide the most consistent doseage it should ideally be taken without other medications. Synthroid dissolves quite readily and an hour between medications should cause no problems. That being said, if the interval is less, there should be no great harm.
469014 tn?1207171512 They put him on medication to control the situation. He was doing great until about 5 years when he suffered another stroke. Same thing only they changed up his meds. My father has horrible cholestrol, high BP, doesn't eat right, drinks, and still smokes. My father is only 64 and he has already had 2 strokes. The fact that my father doesn't take care of himself upset me, but it has been 12 years and unfortunately I can't let it ruin my life.

Avatar m tn 41. 6 hours later I took another dose of Benylin. This morning, between 10-12 I took another dose of Benylin after I noticed it wasn't doing anything. Around 4:45pm I decided to take 2 of the tylenol again. I am just wondering if this is approaching a dangerous amount of acetaminophen and whether I should be worried about liver problems. I spoke to a pharmacist and she said I should be ok.
Avatar n tn I am on Lyrica for burning feet caused by neuropathy. When standing, I am having dizzy spells and risk the chance of falling. I'm not sure if it's the medication or the MS. Does anyone else have this problem? This discussion is related to MS and age....
190673 tn?1259203266 in my opinion, it is best to try to continue to work with that medication, making adjustments with dose or schedule, etc. If you continue to increase your dose and don't feel there is a significant enough improvement, then you may need to discuss making a change of med, or adding a med. For now, it sounds like you're on the right track. Discuss your concerns with the prescribing doc.
Avatar f tn ll need a higher dose. During my first stint in detox, there was a lady who was up to a daily dose of 6 mgs of klonopin and she was in poor shape as they attempted to withdraw her from that. I was only on 2mgs daily and it was rough to get off. btw, 4 mgs of xanax daily is a heavy dose as well. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I've found that Aggrenox seems to work without side effects. It's primarily baby aspirin, but also contains a drug that prevents platelets from sticking together. I've taken it twice a day since my stroke, and it appears to work, but who ever knows?
Avatar f tn Ever since I have been on Thyroxine 100mg six days a week and non Sundays Ever since the endocrinologist told me to cut one dose once a week i feel very tired, shortness of breath and a strange feel on my chest like tidiness, is this normal ? To feel like this if i miss one dose?
Avatar f tn You can take ibuprofen over the counter. The recommended dose is 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. Talk to your doctor though as mine has me take up to 4 tablets every 4 to 6 hours (the maximum and what takes it to prescription level). Absolutely makes cramps manageable for me. Ibuprofen comes in a variety of brands from store brand (cheapest and perfectly fine) to Advil to Motrin. There is another OTC medication called alleve that women take as well for cramps.
Avatar n tn If the dose is really 250 mcg (0.25 mg) x 0.5 = 125 mcg/day x 7 days, gives a total dose of 875 mcg over 7 days. The doses still don't match, and the VA dose is way less. Please recheck with the VA prescription. Recheck with your doctor as well, if neccessary. When changing from 1 brand to another it is always necessary to retest blood levels after 6 weeks, as different meds can have different bioavailability. HOpe this helps.
Avatar m tn I was treated with single dose of 1g azithromycin and 800 mg cerfixime. I ingested the medication under nurse supervision, however, I was warned I may experience some degree of stomach upset. Approximately 2.5 hours after ingesting the medication and whilst experiencing some mild stomach burning sensations, I suffered a bout of painless but voluminous diarrhoea. My main concern is, have I received a sufficient dose of the drugs, or have they mostly passed through me?
