I am using Beta2 agonists. I don't have much side effects. I get mild head aches some times.

Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder contains 2 medicines. The inhaled steroid Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) has a half life of around 5 hours, so it would be totally out of your system in a few days. The inhaled long-acting bronchodilator Serevent® (salmeterol) has a similar half life, so it would be totally out of your system after 5 days.
When steroid side effects occur, they may linger for weeks or even months after the medicine has been stopped.
Using Advair resulted in extreme coughing and, eventually, choking. It was a question of get off it or die. It also played havoc with my adrenal glands and my eyes. I now take natural anti-inflammatories and mucolytics and am much better off, even though I have moderately severe COPD. Go natural and you will get your voice back.

It did not work even after trying it a year. I was then given Advair Diskus 250/50, after 2 1/2 months called the doctor because of using emergency inhaler Albuterol Sulfate 90mgc min 10 times a day.
Albuterol created a vocal cord problem. Now been put on Flovent Diskus 100mgc and continue the Albuterol. Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent.
My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. Like you I have moderately severe COPD. I use Duoneb (similar to combivent) in a nebulizer and find it very helpful. I discontinued the use of Advair (which is basically a combination of Serevent and Flovent) because it almost killed me (choking). It also caused adrenal fatigue, was harming my eyes, and was subverting my immune system.
I was taking that dosage. As time went by I developed very serious adrenal fatigue, sometimes so bad that I couldn't walk. Cortisol levels were very high. I was treated for it with only moderate success. But there was a more serious side effect that I was not aware of. For the last two years my lung health was declining seriously and I honestly did not think I would make it through the coming winter. I assumed that the COPD was progressing at an alarming rate.
My husband and I were putting on one of those window kits to keep out the cold air out and I became very tired and my arms and legs felt like they were burning. I use 2 inhalers a day, Spiriva and Advair Diskus 250/50 and use Albuterol inhaler as needed. I am 70 years old. I have never been real athetlic but I find I am getting weaker all the time.
I know these are allergies related or even the Gerd is causing breathlessness so I have to take albuterol + Advair diskus 250 or something... I know taking that is also causing me to develop rashes here and there but they are gone within days..... SERIOUSLY can anyone be weaned off from these Advair + Albuterol. I know if the Gerd is cured maybe the breathlessness will goaway as well... but sometimes I think the Gerd might have been caused by post nasal drip from all those sinus infections.
