Avatar m tn As there was no improvement. Doctor adviced to have Exemptia (Adalimumab) injection. 4 injections (40mg 8ml) was given. Next day he was having stomach pain, tight and rigid stomach, and fast breathing. He was immediately admitted in the nearby hospital and doctor found he was suffering from megacolon (toxic colon). After taking x-ray and CT scan, it was found that there was perforation in his stomach.
Avatar f tn Could be ACD instead. Because of where it is located I say that. People with ACD will react on lower legs most often , and scalp too. And many doctors will think it is psorisis. If it is this, I can tell you what to do to end it for good. You would still have ACD but this would clear up for you.
Avatar n tn Yesterday my rheumatologist has finally decided to give me something other than anti-inflammatories and anti-depressants for my list of symptoms which he has decided are due to either Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic Arthritis (Palindromic Rheumatism was mentioned too) or possibly all of the above, with a side order of Fibromyalgia. Just wondering if anyone here has taken Humira (Adalimumab) as I've read about it and am freaking out a bit!
492527 tn?1212175672 It kind of depends on the person, simply because depending on you body chemistry, each person can react differently to different psychotropic medications. If the symptoms of his depression include anxiety, and restlesness then an SSRI type antidepressant is usually the best place to start. If his symptoms include fatuge and exaustion then often times an SNRI drug like Effexor or Cymbalta can do the trick. With these kinds of drugs it can be a trial and error process at times.

Avatar m tn Yes, Humira will indirectly help in controlling diarrhea and digestion. Let me explain this. Humira or adalimumab is a biological response modifier and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker. Thus, in Crohn’s it will modify your body’s response to disease (bloating, tenderness, diarrhea, indigestion etc). This is because any immune mediated disease like Crohn’s produces excess of an inflammatory protein called TNF-alpha, which causes cellular damage along with pain and inflammation.
Avatar m tn ca/not-statistically-significant-researchers-worldwide-react-with-disappointment-over-montreal-covid-treatment-study-1.5283839 "The path forward now many are suggesting is to wait for an additional, confirmatory trial to see if colchicine shows any promise as a treatment for COVID-19 at all.
Avatar f tn When it comes to diapers, different baby skins react differently to diapers. For example my sister used Luvs for her first born and they worked fine. When she had her 2nd and 3rd, for some reason Luvs was giving them a rash so she tried Huggies and they worked. Then for her 4th she's back at using Luvs again.
Avatar n tn As most of us know Humira (adalimumab) reduces the effects of a substance in the body that can cause inflammation. Common Humira side effects may include: headache; nausea; cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sinus pain, sneezing, sore throat; rash; or redness, bruising, ITCHING, or swelling where the injection was given. So what you are experiencing is not unusual - however I think you should give your MD a call as Sherry also suggested. He/she needs to know about your reaction.
Avatar f tn the amount of hbsag circulating in an infected person is dramatically higher than any level that hbig could neutralize and reduce.
Avatar f tn With my first two we tried enfamil first but they both didn't react well to it so after some trial and error with other brands they both ended up being content with Presidents Choice.
Avatar f tn I'm a newbie here, does anyone have any info on this clinical trial? No interferon injections. All oral protease inhibitors & riboviron. I'm to start Aug. I hear riboviron is what makes everyone sick. I have bad allergies, skin issues (especially scalp), asthma and respiratory probs. Is this going to due me in? Oh, and depression! Help! I also don't want to go out on disability if I can avoid it.
Avatar m tn While it is antihistaminics, topical and oral steroids for eczema and antifungal for fungal infection, the treatment of psoriasis that have been approved by FDA are adalimumab and Xtrac Velocity excimer laser system. Apart from that, topical medications like emollients, creams containing coal tar, dithranol, corticosteroids, fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues and retinoids have been routinely used. So before using any treatment it is advisable to consult a dermatologist. I hope it helps.

Avatar m tn We all react differently to these drugs, and while one may have side effects from one drug, another won't. It's really trial and error as to what will work best for you. Try the Paxil and if it doesn't help, or you have any problematic side effects let your doctor know right away. Never stop these types of meds abruptly and always work closely with your doctor where your meds are concerned.
1131131 tn?1275108488 I am now on lexepro 5mg (since i react to 10mg). I was taking xanex .5 three times a day but it was pooping out so my psych put me on klonopin last week. Has anyone had problems transfering from xanex to klonopin? How long does the rockyness last. and the side affects?
Avatar f tn I tried to take vit d3 in a liquid form (dropper) 1,000 mg a day due to d3 deficiency two different times. Both trial periods, I felt weak, dizzy with heart palpatations. Have u ever heard of this reaction to d3?
Avatar f tn Overall, I can say I was very pleased with the care I received from my trial.....but I will admit to having a backup plan. My trial allowed no rescue drugs for HGB or WBCs, so in a heartbeat, I would've jumped ship if they called for a dose reduction I didn't agree with and continued care with a private hepa if I needed to. What trial are you accepted into? Maybe someone will have more insight.
Avatar f tn t mean your body will absorb both of them equally well. You may not react to the Xanax at all, you might find it works better. You might find you have side effects on Xanax you didn't have on Ativan. Only doing it will answer your questions, as this is all trial and error because we're all individuals, not a generalization derived from a study done on a relatively small number of people for a relatively short period of time.
Avatar f tn Taper off the steroids to low potency ones after consulting your dermatologist. The drugs that have been approved by FDA are adalimumab and Xtrac Velocity excimer laser system. Apart from that, topical medications like emollients, creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone (Topicort), fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids have been routinely used. Phototherapy containing UV A has also been employed.
Avatar f tn I guess I am in the treatment naive trial for boceprevir. I have my first appointment in middle of feb. Does anyone know what I should expect from here? What are the steps? Also, I just read where a lady has all kind of problems with her platelets due to interferon, whats the worst side effects of this study? I wanna keep my platelets high, they are at 240,000 now. Any advice would be welcomed as I don't know if I am gonna accept the trial chance.
Avatar m tn I take Lexapro, and have for several years with excellent results. I'm not sure if you're taking it, or thinking about taking it. If you're already taking it, then contact your doctor it may be time to tweak the dosage. If it's been prescribed but you have doubts...don't, try it. We all react differently to these types of medications, and sometimes it is trial and error as to which one will work best for us.
Avatar f tn Of course you can eat fruit when you breastfeed. Salad is also fine but certain things react differently for different babies. Things that make a lot of people gassy like beans or broccoli may make your baby gassy too, but it's really trial and error. My 1st daughter got upset tummy whenever I ate a lot of dairy even though neither of us is lactose intolerant...
