720656 tn?1311040235 My thyroid didn't go hypo until between my 3 month and 6 month post PCRs. I took another test a month later to be sure before I started the Synthroid and then another one 2 months after I started the meds to make sure it was working the way it should (it was). My Dr. told me it was a long term deal. I can live with it since I'm not having any adverse effects and the cost is less than $10.00 per month cash........
Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar f tn After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone. I was later put on Omeprazole, 40 mg 2x a day fir the past few months. Not sure yet, but my low back muscles are killing me.

Avatar f tn About 2 months ago I was prescribed Restasis Eye drops and after being on the dug for about 2-3 weeks I noticed that my mouth got extremely dry. So I looked up all the side effects and none included dry mouth. so I called the Dr. that prescribed it to me and I was told that 1% of patients get this dry mouth and I was told to discontinue use of the drug and come see the Dr in 1 month. It's been a month and I went to the Dr but the symptoms has gotten worse instead of better.
Avatar f tn I firmly believe that my psychiatrist should have warned me about the side effects of this med or any meds he prescribes. By God, they are sure to warn against effects of Viagra and other drugs on TV!!!!!! I would have never thought of telling him about mouth sores and a sore throat. I made no connection at all. I don't know how long it's going to take to get out of my system, but we stopped it on Friday and I hope I don't have any untoward effects from that.
Avatar f tn When you say Advair and Albuterol can cause adverse cardiovascular effects, do you mean both of them can cause adverse effects (either/or) or the two used together can cause adverse effects?
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. Avatar n tn Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta, celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar m tn The adverse effects experienced are similar to those with use of adenosine. While adverse effects are less frequent with dipyridamole (47% of patients), they tend to be more serious than those associated with adenosine. The most common adverse effects of dipyridamole are chest pain (19%), headache (12%), and hypotension (4.6%). In addition, 12% of patients require aminophylline for reversal of adverse effects.
1286779 tn?1400012806 Some medications can have odd adverse effects in older people that don't happen when we're younger. My mother (same age as your mom) had really weird side effects from lyrica but it didn't help her pain so she quit taking it. I think your mom would benefit from a complete medication review by a gerontologist. That's a doctor who specializes in treating seniors.
Avatar n tn I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.
Avatar f tn Do you have allergies to these medicines or just adverse effects? Allergies are a biochemical response to chemicals that cause measurable physiologic changes and can be lethal. What many people call allergies are actually just adverse effects of the drugs (e.g., upset stomach from aspirin). Adverse reactions can be tolerated, allergies are more complex. Have you talked with your doctor? For example, Atenolol can definitely make people feel tired and foggy.
Avatar n tn There can be some serious adverse effects (some of which are long-term). There is a process to report adverse events to the FDA but I do not know if they "accept" all reports. We do not get full disclosure of a lot of things medical so it seems that would also apply to vaccines. It is important that we do our research since we are the ones who have to live with the after effects. These links may be helpful in making this decision: http://www.fda.
Avatar f tn , i go crazy, no sleep. shake in side and out , my heart beats so fast was so tired but there was no sleeping , when i finally did sleep had night terrors when i take steroids. i now only take them when it;s steroids or die. they also give me zanax and that helps. be careful and taper off the way the doctor wrote the scrip and call him or her and let them know ur side affects.
Avatar m tn 25m planning to get the hpv vaccines. I read that there are some nasty adverse effects, fainting, soreness, fever, etc. even death. Just how safe is this vaccine? It's giving me a bit of anxiety just from reading some of these articles.
Avatar f tn If you experience adverse drug effect(s), please contact your physician and pharmacist right away. Please report serious adverse drug effects to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program by: 1. calling 1-800-332-1088, or 2. go online:http://www.fda.
Avatar f tn it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. I can eat so of course I am swallowing. I'm off all drug right now but throat/phlegm sensations feel settled in, especailly bad at night, and are anxiety provoking.
