Common Questions and Answers about Activella medication estrogen

activella

429647 tn?1249753429 m on Activella which is a lowdose combination HRT pill (bio Estrogen but nonbio Progesterone)and feeling good on that. If you plan on starting HRT, consider starting on the lowest possible dose and see if that relieves your symptoms. When you change dose it can take a few months to even out and it is easier to work your way up than down in dose. There are pros and cons for HRT. Did you have your cancer tested for estrogen receptors? That can be a big factor in making a decision.
778736 tn?1235756590 I was put on a hormone replacement because I was suffering about 3 months ago (Activella) which saved me. Since January I work out 3/4 times a week, practically a vegan with an occasional chicken or fish. Now it's 2 months into this and I again teater on 138-142. What is going on????? I'm doing everything right but not loosing that extra 10 lbs that I don't want.
Avatar f tn If my thyroid is on the low side and i am already on medication (synthroid) would my endo increase or decrease my medication. My symptoms of hypothyroidism returned, almost all of them which triggered me to retest. I was put on a low estrogen pill due to hormonal imbalance. My endo is decreasing my meds from .137 to .125. so with my thyroid on the low side would he need to increase or decrease?
Avatar f tn I would not discontinue any of that medication without a doctors say. Prednisone is dealing with an immune issue, Heprin is thinning your blood so blood clots don't form. I take both these too. I would think your doctor would probably have you stop the estrogen and progesterone between 10 and 12 weeks. I know it's a lot right now to take but it's so very important to make sure you take these meds consistently right now.
Avatar f tn I'm not too familiar with Cerophine, but I was on clomid for 5 months, 3 of those being with iui, and every time my lining wasn't too thick. It was around 8 mm at ovulation time. When conception happens, you want as thick a lining as you can get b/c it's what the baby needs to attach to for the pregnancy to continue. The thicker your lining, the better chance of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn My doctor has put me on medication . I'm taking progesterone capsules, HCG injections and aspirin delayed release tablets .What r they supposed to do and how does it help my baby? I had a chemical pregnancy in July and I'm now 6w3d pregnant.
1936550 tn?1348360208 My wife is using this birth control pills that are called ACTIVELLA shes been using them for a wile now and they really work. But i would recommend you to ask your doctor, only a doctor would tell you whats best for you.
Avatar m tn She has some extra 10mcg tablets and just bumped herself up to 35mcg of the slow release. Does that seem like a lot of medication? Also she has very high RT3, not out of range but at the very top. In the test she had the max was 24 and she had 23. Other then that question, does it take so long to see any improvement in symptoms. I would think that the active hormone would act more quickly.
1611901 tn?1347014184 I am a postmenopausel hypothyroid woman 57 years old, not on any female estrogen progesterone supplementation. Am on synthroid and my dose seems to be decreasing. Was hyper on 100 mcgs of synthroid, now back to 75mcgs of synthroid.I feel really good on this dose. Also take multivitamin mineral, B12, vitamin C. My question is this, do you think my needing less synthroid is because of level of estrogen dropping as I age?
Avatar f tn I'm 29 y/o female. I had my thyroid completely removed due to nodules, 11 years ago. At the time of the removal, I had been on birth control pills. I remained on them for 10 years. I took Synthroid, and never had a problem. I felt great! I got off the BC pills 2 years ago, and all of a sudden, I am unable to tolerate my synthroid. Especially after ovulation! I become extremely stimulated by it, and can only take 1/4 of the pill at a time.
Avatar f tn There are a variety of estrogen medications that you can take. You'll have to discuss with your doctor, which is best for you and what dosage you need. It's normal for estrogen levels to drop as we age. Some cancers (not that you have any; just so you know) feed off estrogen, so it's important that you get the right dosage.
Avatar f tn Estrogen rises with the growth of your follicles, and the follicle growth is based on how well your body responds to the FSH medication...not estrogen. But either way, since this is an IVF cycle, you will be on estrogen supplements anyway to help thicken the lining and get it ready for implantation. And just FYI, I wouldn't try any natural remedies to alter your hormone levels. Certain herbs, for example, can actually interfere with the medication you will be taking....
Avatar m tn I AM DECREASING MY ESTROGEN REPLACEMENT MEDICATION ON A GRADUAL BASIS PER MY DRS ORDERS. AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS I SUDDENLY REALIZED THAT MY INCREASED IN JITTERINESS, SWEATING, HUNGER AND FEELING HOT MIGHT BE RELATED TO MY THRYROID MEDICATION WHICH I HAVE BEEN TAKING FOR YEARS RE TO HOSHIMOTOS AND NODULES. AND JUST HAD ALL WITHIN NORMAL RESULTS FROM MY YEARLY THYROID TESTS IN SEPT. WHAT ARE THOUGHTS ON THIS?
Avatar f tn Okay, I was diagnosed with hashimotos and have been also taking Prometrium for over a year. Doing really well on it. I also developed what appears to be a fibrocystic breast (just one) going to get a mammogram just to rule out anything bad, etc. Well, recently, I have lost some weight...suddenly the breast condition got worse, I started spotting day 9 of cycle after stopping period on day 7 and I am having headaches.
Avatar m tn Is she still on estrogen or was that a short-term medication years ago? If she hasn't had a checkup for a year or more, she could go in for one now and mention any issues dealing with estrogen and having no libido, as you describe, during that appointment. Of course, with any sexual activities, you need to entertain a good amount of foreplay with her that might trigger her libido.
Avatar n tn My new doctor recommended me to have a salivary test to test hormone levels/cortisol/dhea. The results show what she called estrogen deficiency and high cortisol levels. progestrone level is okay. She said that I could try "natural" estrogen cream but I have tried bioidentical progestrone cream before and this brought on bleeding again just after 3 days of use. I also experienced giddiness with it use.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
