Acne scars glycolic acid

Common Questions and Answers about Acne scars glycolic acid

acne

Avatar f tn You need to go to a dermatologist who can prescribe to you facial peels with aha, salicylic acid or glycolic acid in them. Creams containing these (and more) ingredients also work very well in lightening and treating acne. maybe a combination of peels and creams/gels. Microdermabrasion also works very well in smoothing the surface of the skin. There is so much new medical tech out there for scars etc., that you shouldn't have to live with them anymore.
Avatar f tn I'm 33 and have some old acne scars and sunspots here and there, nothing too bad, but I would love to have model clear skin. My dermotoligist perscribed me pigmanorm cream (hydrocortison. I'm a American expat temporarily living in Germany, so you may not recognize the medication names) to lighten some of the spots on my face.

Avatar m tn Please does anyone know what the technique the most efficient to treat acne scars; natural peeling or laser. (I'm 28 years old).
1155893 tn?1263018015 I had one at Cleveland clinic. Good job but wooooo the realing ~ hard to go through. Did good though to stay so daily cleansing of face could be done. Kept scarring and infection down. Good job done. But stay for getting skin cleaned for at least a week or so. Very important. Results lasted 3-5 years. Use aquaphor. Ask Dr. about it.
Avatar f tn i have acne and i managed to clear my face last week and there are just postinflammatory hyperpigmentation marks left where the acne was (reddish brown scars). i also have mild ice pick scarring and enlarged pores. i use acnecide 5% benzoyl peroxide gel every night for acne and yesterday night, i put on acnecide all over my fave and then put ambi fade cream with 2% hydroquione on top of it on my spots. i then put on aloe vera gel from holland and barretts as moisturiser.
Avatar m tn Additionally, inhibits thromboxane synthesis and may even have antibacterial and/or antifungal properties Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are natural fruit acids, including lactic acid, glycolic acid, and citric acid. AHAs are used topically to exfoliate, to treat stretch marks and acne scars, and to moisturize the skin. Adverse reactions may include stinging, irritation, burning, redness, swelling, and sloughing of the skin.
Avatar m tn Another thing that works beautifully for me are chemical peels. Ive tried dermabrasion, glycolic acid peels, aha peels and salicylic acid peels- theyve helped greatly in reducing scars. I hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Hello, Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
773889 tn?1235450567 Now the line has become a back circle and its on the middle of my nose. Retin A, Azelaic Acid and Glycolic acid are the safest medications because my dermatologist strongly advised me to avoid products with hydroqunone. My dermatologist recently advised me to increase the glycolic acid strength and apply as following. I also feel this is the most effective way. At night. Azelaic Acid 20% cream ( wait 20 mins) Retin A 0.05 ( wait 20 mins) Glycolic Acid 15% cream Moisturizer.
Avatar n tn azelaic acid 20% cream; salicylic acid 1–2% cream or gel; alpha hydroxy acid preparation; trichloroacetic acid 10–20% peel. You can visit a Dermatologist as to which treatment is suitable for you. Keep me informed if you have any queries. Bye.
Avatar f tn it might seem like a minor issue but my skin is so important to me and since i’m only 16 i don’t want my skin to be bad as i grow up. ive thought about ‘The Ordinarys’ glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid and niacinamide with zinc but they target for acne, fine lines or blemishes and i don’t suffer with any of those . ive also heard they’re not fresh for melanin and since i’m mixed i don’t want to effect my skin complexion.
Avatar f tn I have no pre-existing allergies. I have recently familiarized myself with glycolic acid. Last month I went to a spa and the esthetician used 20% glycolic on me for 1 minute. I showed no allergic reaction from this treatment. In fact, it made my skin glow as well as improve the overall condition. 3 weeks ago I bought 5 Glytone acid peels ranging from 30%-70%. I tested the product 2 nights ago starting with 30% glycolic acid.
Avatar f tn Products with glycolic acid can help like facial wash, moisturizer, and facial wipes can be used together. (Just use them separately first until you adjust). Various products are available at Sephora. Just check the ingredient list to avoid the non pregnancy safe substances like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and retinol.
Avatar m tn I had minor pimples on my face .My doctor advised me to apply 10% glycolic acid on the spots .I applied for 1 week and was left with black spots .I was quite depressed then i went to another doctor he told me that i got dermal pih as my skin is sensitive by using glycolic acid .he gave me depiwhite containing 2% hydroquinone and kojic acid for application at night time and triobloc containing alpha arbutin for application 2 times during day time.
Avatar n tn thank you so much for responding. i was given this monocyline Hcl 100mg with cream which has this oleanolic acid formula.is this cream for acne scars or acne?or for both?i have been using both tablet and cream for 20 days.i didn't see much of the change in fadeness of scars or maybe it takes time.please let me know what is this cream exactly for.
Avatar f tn Hello, Benzoyl peroxide is effective for active acne lesions.Since now you are left only with scars which are a result of scratching, so they are post inflammatory hyperpigmentation scars. The treatment is the same as advised. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn Look it up online under a google search and type in acne scars and there are actually different types and it will tell you what kind of treatment works for what type of scar you have.
Avatar n tn My skin is usually normal/oily. I have no pre-existing allergies.
Avatar n tn THE BURN OCCURED 3months BACK BY HYDROCLORIC SULPURIC ACID. I USED FLAMIGEL,BEPANTHENE OINTMENT FOR TWO MONTHS AND SINCE LAST MONTH I AM USING GEL FROM OLEU PLANT DIRECTLY ON FACE. THE SCAR IS HYPOPIGMENTED . THE COLOR OF THE SCAR IS PINKISH WHITE. MY SKIN COLOR IS BROWNISH.
Avatar f tn I had a few ice pick/box acne scars. It is very dangerous, but the best method for me was 99.9% dichloroacetic acid or 100% tricloroacetic acid! IT WORKED!!!! Instead of going to a medspa where they charge $100 per "hole", I bought the acid online. The chemical company only ships to businesses, so I had then ship to my husbands work. It's dangerous because if the acid goes outside of the area or if you leave it on too long it may scar.
Avatar m tn Other treatment options include exfoliating with facial scrubs, sponges, towels or creams containing acid and ibuprofen or other NSAIDs. Topical application of dilute glycolic acid and salicylic prepared solutions are also helpful. You can consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him. For the dark scars, treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color.
